About the new board

Welcome to the FACTNET discussion board.

We have recently updated the technology we use to support your discussions tot he world class VBulletin software. This will provide us a much more stable, secure, and capable platform for your discussions.

There are a host of new features, such as sending private messages to other members, and we all have a learning curve to go through. We appreciate your patience and hope that you will direct any questions for How To's, Support, and Comments about the board to the Factnet Exchange forum. YES, it is very different than what we have been using for many years and it will take some getting used to. Over time, as the users as well as admin gets used to it's features there will be much more flexibility than before.

Your user accounts are all available but you will have to generate a new password before you can log in. Just request a new password - which does require you to have a valid email on file. If your not getting the new password emails, first check your anti-spam/junk mail folder/inbox. If that doesn't work send email to the Contact Us link on the footer with the old account name, proper email information.

Or if you want to register anew and create a new account - you wont be able to use your former email account - the email is already in use. Either supply a different email or Contact Us.

The Factnet Exchange area is open to guest/non logged in members, posts. So let us know there if you are having login issues.

We 'tried' as best we could to move over as many of the old posts and threads from the old discussion board. It wasn't a perfect transition of course, with over 400,000 posts and mapping one to the other, some posts didn't make it over. The old board is available at the same URL http://factnet.org/discus but is set to read/search only so you can do research and even reference posts or copy them over to here.

Unlike the old board, the look is very much up to the user defined settings in your user profile (User CP). New posts in topics are only highlighted as such only if you are signed in. Who's currently using the board, Information such as current Users and visitors is only visible if you are signed in as well.

As we said, we believe this move and update of technology was absolutely critical and needed to be done. We know there will be a learning curve to go through, for all of us and appreciate your patience and support as we move forward
