For most of 2008, emotional energies of LaRouche and minions was directed to the "PUMAs," that is, the "Party Unity, My Ass" group of Hilary Clinton supporters who refused to back Obama in the interests of party unity. With Debbie's item that XLCr wonderfully discovered, linked to, and quoted from, above, dated Oct. 21, and addressed to "Dear LaRouche PAC members," we now see the verbal formula by which the attempt will be made to claim that LaRouche's doomsday forecast first made in his Aug. 1 webcast and reiterated right up to the end of September, actually happened, and on schedule--namely, that a "phase-shift" downward occurred in the first two weeks of October, "just as LaRouche forecast." As XLCr noted, the operative word is now to be "phase-shift," rather than all the other formulas from multiple statements by LaRouche since Aug. 1, including (but not limited to) "[the U.S.] will have crashed entirely," "[the U.S.] is now scheduled to collapse," "everything begins to disintegrate throughout the world," "as of as early as Oct. 12-15, personal life as you have thought you knew it, could come suddenly to a jolting end," "the entire world system of nation-states will soon disintegrate," "hyperinflationary collapse...[of] the entire planet," and "either a precipitous collapse in the market, or a sharp turn toward pro-fascist modes of austerity."

"Phase shift" my ass! PhaSMA replaces PUMA! The snippet quotes above already make the case, but for the record, and for the benefit of anyone reading this who hasn't seen the previous posts where all this has been laid out, I reprise below the core quotes from 5 items by LaRouche starting with the Aug. 1 webcast, wherein he lays out that his prediction for no later than Oct. 12 (though by the end of September the beginning of a fudge on the exact dates begins to creep in) entails cataclysmic events that could not possibly fail to be reported on, and experienced directly by major parts of the population.

It turns out that in his introductory paragraph to his Sept. 30 item "Now, October," he uses, for the first time, the "phase-shift" formula, saying " I have indicated the first half of October as a crucial period of phase-shift into the actuality of the already looming, initial onset of that actual breakdown ." I know, I know. I had the same reaction. What?? What did he say? "phase-shift" into the "actuality" of the "looming initial onset" of the "actual breakdown." The precise (or even not-so-precise) meaning of the "actuality" of something that is not yet actual, but only looming, escapes me. And how would one know that such a "phase-shift" had taken place, if the visible manifestation that it had, the actual breakdown, is still in the future. Clearly, he here planted the seeds of his grand fudge. However, in the body of this release, he returns to the prediction of dire consequences (not just "looming" ones) in October itself: "there is no good reason to doubt...that the October 2009 entry into a new U.S. fiscal year, defines a general breakdown of [the] monetary-financial system," for both the U.S. and world economies. And he goes on to specify what would be the evidence that "the next phase of general collapse" for the U.S. and the world has occurred, namely, "a precipitous collapse in the market, or a sharp turn toward pro-fascist modes of austerity." So, as of Sept. 30, one of these two things would be required in October to validate his forecast. Rots a ruck, fella.

So, here follows the relevant portions of the five cited items from Aug. 1 to Sept. 30. I have emphasized in bold italic the key phrases that either specify the actual, dire, and visible consequences that LaRouche is forecasting, or the specification that the first 2 weeks of October is the deadline for these to occur. Phase change, my ass!

Webcast: August 1, 2009: The Fall of the House of Windsor

The crisis point from which to reference the present U.S. and world situation, is the period from the 2nd of October through about the 10th or 12th of October of this year. As of that time, the already, totally hopelessly bankrupt United States will have crashed entirely, politically, and will be in a process of disintegration—unless that process has started earlier. And it could start very early, in this present month of August. …..

So now, people realize, that as of October 2nd to 10th or 12th, approximately, the entire system is coming down. This system is so rotten, it can never be saved in its present form. The present international monetary system, can not be saved, also. Because, if the United States collapses, as it is now scheduled to collapse—totally!—by the beginning of October, probably earlier; probably in August. ….

The state can't perform functions, police forces laying off, everything else laid off, because the states are bankrupt. …

Yes! The great crisis technically comes in the beginning of October, when the fiscal year ends, and you have to sort out the paper, legally, and you can't hide all the lies, all this time. But that's not when it's going to happen: Because the suffering caused by this breakdown is hitting millions of people, our citizens, now. Those who are shut off from all succor. States, 30-40 states, are breaking down, as a result of this. People are going to starve to death under conditions of the present trend, unless we change it.


Webcast, September 8, 200: THE DEATH OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE

We are now at the end of things. ….

We're on the verge of a dictatorship in the United States, being pushed very soon, and "soon" is determined by the fact that at the end of this month, and beginning of October, the fiscal year of the United States comes to a close, and these accounts have to be reconciled. And there's no money, to reconcile these accounts. There is no source of income to keep the states—48 to 49 of states are already officially in bankruptcy—and there's no money, from any source, to take these states out of bankruptcy.

The payments that are not being made, will never be paid, under Barack Obama. There will never any improvement of the conditions of life under Barack Obama. ….

The policy of Barack Obama, is genocide against the people of the United States! That's a fact! And anybody who denies that fact, is either kidding themselves, or lying. If they're official, they're lying. That is the policy! ….


September 22, 2009 LaRouche Release: BUSINESS AS UNUSUAL!

As unusual, the interval up to Oct. 12-15, must be treated as a highly probable point at which everything begins to disintegrate throughout the world, especially for the U.S.A. itself. For most of you, and I include the individuals within our association, this is not yet a personal reality - - yet. You have your personal schedule, which exists in simple clock-time, or a date on a calendar, but for most of you - - even you! - - world-time and personal-time tend to be disconnected notions of actuality.

Meanwhile, as of as early as Oct. 12-15, personal life as you have thought you knew it, could come suddenly to a jolting end. Compare it to an adult on the streets of Manhattan (for example) on the early morning of Dec. 7, 1941. Passers-by do a double-take as they hear someone exclaim in angered protest: "But, I had an important appointment scheduled for today!"

It might not happen between exactly Oct. 12-15, 2009, but it is on the way for some time near that, as of now. There has never been the danger of a recession, or even a depression during the recent three years; what will happen now, and soon, is a general breakdown- crisis throughout the entire planet, a crisis which feels to the victim as like "World War III" when it hits. Even so, even among you, some people will be protesting that they have one or another sort of personal plan for the day that ordinary minutes on the clock feel like hours-long torture by an eon of hopelessness, because they have refused to consider that such an event as that could ever actually happen, not to someone else, but to them.

What I am doing, or, better said, what some other people see as on my agenda, but not their own, will, for that reason, overtake them unprepared. For that reason, such individuals, even among us, will panic, because their confidence that it could never happen to them has caught them unprepared for what they had brushed aside with words such as, "They would never let that happen!"

Don't bother me with that. On the day the dam breaks, I will be so busy with really important things which I alone am really prepared to do, that I will have no time for telling you that it didn't really happen.


Sept. 28, 2009: THIS TOWER OF BABBLE

Unless a purgative system of bankruptcy is put into effect very soon, the entire world system of nation-states will soon disintegrate, one after the other, chain-reaction style. It could come as soon as some time in October. If it is permitted to occur, it will come as a result of the hyperinflationary collapse, like that of Weimar Germany in 1923, but not in one isolated nation, this time; the entire planet will collapse, and leading nations will simply disintegrate. …

Time is running out. Assuming that the U.S.A. would get through this month of October, is already a big stretch.


Sept. 30: The Season of A Twentieth Anniversary: NOW, OCTOBER!

During the recent days, I have presented a series of reports bearing on the matter of the nature and causes of the presently onrushing October crisis of both the U.S.A.'s and the world's current entry into the crucial phase of a global economic-breakdown crisis. I have indicated the first half of October as a crucial period of phase-shift into the actuality of the already looming, initial onset of that actual breakdown. Here, I restate the case with special emphasis on identifying the probable forms in which the present inevitability of that phase-shift might be expressed during the weeks immediately ahead. …

Now, as the ominous month of October descends upon the entire planet, a new, greater existential crisis than that, has arisen from among the nations of the world. October is the setting which promises an onrushing economic breakdown-crisis world-wide. At this time, there is no good reason to doubt either that the October 2009 entry into a new U.S. fiscal year, defines a general breakdown of monetary-financial system of not only the U.S. economy, or, that this monetary-breakdown-crisis will now reverberate as the common ruin of nations throughout the world. Therefore, the only questions in the minds of actually competent economists, are the following two: "First: Exactly what specific form will this already onrushing breakdown-crisis take, during the month of October and for a short time beyond? …

Therefore, in any case, an implicitly irreversible, significant downshift in the level of financial support of population and institutions, under post-September 30th conditions, would be an irreversible, probably fascist-style political down-shift of the entire U.S. economy, which would be sufficient evidence that the next phase of general collapse of both the U.S. economy, and also, therefore, the world economy at large, has occurred. In other words, either a precipitous collapse in the market, or a sharp turn toward pro-fascist modes of austerity, would suffice to prove that a qualitative change with the characteristics of a breakdown- crisis has been confirmed.



To LaRouche: Twist as you will, sir, on trying to salvage shreds of credibility from this monumentally disconfirmed prediction, you are just twisting in the wind. Too many people are watching, and too little has occurred in October (to wit, essentially, nothing at all) that could be adduced to in any way confirm your forecast, for this latest fudge on a failed forecast, for you to wriggle out this time. You give new meaning to the expression "hanging out to dry."
