No Justice for Alamo

People ask why there is no justice for children being physically and sexually abused inside the Alamo Foundation. Read this recent article by Bill O'Reilly. Arkansas is among "the most dangerous states".

The Most Dangerous States for American Kids

For those of you who still believe the justice system in America is working, consider the following. For three years, 46-year old Andrew Selva sexually brutalized two boys, ages 5 and 12, in a small town outside of Columbus, Ohio. In a plea bargain, Selva admitted to the court that he raped the boys in a variety of ways. By all accounts, it was savage criminal activity.

But when Selva appeared for sentencing before Ohio Judge John Connor, he received no prison time at all. Instead, Connor placed him on probation, saying, "He's got a disease like I've got a disease. I don't know that prison would have helped, except for revenge, and revenge is not in the sentencing guidelines."

What the sentencing guidelines did call for was a ten-year stretch in a state prison. But Connor believes he knows better, so it is probation for a child rapist. By the way, the "disease" Connor referenced in his own case is apparently alcohol-related; the judge has at least two DUI convictions on his sheet.

This kind of sentencing insanity is increasing across the country because many states, like Ohio, have no mandatory minimum prison terms for child predators and, as we all know, there is no shortage of loony judges like Connor.

While some states have passed Jessica's Law, which harshly punishes child molesters, other states simply will not do anything. The following are the most dangerous to a child's welfare.

Vermont: Even after the national scandal of Judge Edward Cashman sentencing the rapist of an 8-year old girl to just 60 days in prison (under pressure, Cashman later revised the sentence to a paltry three years), the Vermont legislature failed to pass mandatory minimums for child sexual predators. The effort was blocked by Democrats, and Republican Governor Jim Douglas refused to get involved.

New York: Despite overwhelming bipartisan support for Jessica's Law, Democratic Assemblyman Sheldon Silver continues to single-handedly block any vote. Governor Pataki vows to go around Silver.

Maryland: No mandatory minimums for sexual crimes against children. The Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Democrat Joseph Vallario, has consistently blocked efforts to pass Jessica's Law.

Massachusetts: Absolutely no mandated protection for kids who are brutalized sexually. The judge is free to bestow any sentence. Speaker of the House Sal Dimasi, a Democrat, has killed every piece of tough sex offender legislation that has been introduced.

Wyoming: No minimum prison sentences and no GPS tracking for convicted sex offenders. Governor Dave Freudenthal, a Democrat, doesn't seem to care.

Arkansas: No minimum prison sentences. Governor Mike Huckabee, a Republican, doesn't seem to care.

Tennessee: No minimum prison terms for child sex crimes. Democratic Governor Phil Bredensen doesn't seem to care.

Idaho: No minimum prison terms for child sex crimes. Republican Governor Dirk Kempthorne doesn't seem to care.

North Dakota: No minimum prison sentences for any sexual acts with minors. Governor John Hoeven, a Republican, says he is "studying" ways to change that.

Also, the states of Colorado, Wisconsin, Maine, Kansas, and Montana have weak laws protecting kids, but at least there are politicians in those states trying to change things.

In the Ohio case where the child rapist received parole, and in the Vermont case where the man who raped the little girl initially got 60 days, the three victims were poor kids. Their parents had no money, no influence, and no hope of challenging the wicked judges. I submit those awful sentences would not have been handed down if the rapists had abused wealthy children.

But be that as it may, any state that will not severely punish an adult who rapes a child is a disgraceful state. And everybody living there should know it."

I often wonder why Tony Alamo has not been brought to justice. They take away children from families where alot less has taken place. Why is he above the law??? Why is this still going on in this country? Why do those people sit there day by day and allow this man to emotionally and physically rape and abuse their children? Doesn't something nag at their souls and hearts that it is wrong?

Isn't it part of our human nature to protect our young? If anyone ever touched my child, I swear, I would kill them with my bare hands, no questions asked.

All the excuses about them being brainwashed, that they dont know any better, bla bla. I'm not buying it. They frikken know better!!! I hope that the faces of the innocent children that Tony has taken and raped and abused haunt them for the rest of their lives. I hope they do not have a moments peace.

These people who sacrifice there children to Tony don't even deserve to be called parents. They lack a parent's love and instinct to protect. When all of this is over and that monster is rotting in jail (hopefully being raped himself) or dead, these people will have a long and challenging spiritual journey ahead of them. They will have to live with the guilt of turning a blind eye to the abuse while justifying the reasons for their spiritually weak decisions. Of course, it will be nothing compared to what their victimized children will have to suffer for the rest of their lives---issues of abandonment, unworthiness, feeling dirty, useless, unloved, etc.

If these people don't wake up soon, it will be too late. It may already be too late for some of them. Not only will the abused children resent them, once they have grown, but they risk loosing the love of ALL of their family once the truth is revealed. They want to pretend nothing is happening in that house of horrors but any caring parent would risk life and limb to discover the truth about any suspicious circumstances. And I am sorry but a 70 year old man having lots of young girls living with him and some openly (but not legally) married to him does not ring moral let alone normal. Perhaps these adults no longer have the will to seek the truth for themselves. Sometimes it is just easier to accept what others tell you or create a false reality to deal with the real one that is so unbearable. As anyone who has been in that place can testify, fear can make even the nicest person do things out of character. If I thought I would burn in hell every time I turned around, I might think it all too much to face with my eyes wide open and choose to close them for my own peace. But we all know that you can run but you can not hide from the choices we make in this life. Sooner or later we have to face our mistakes. I truly feel sorry for some of them---the ones born and raised in particular. They really believe they are doing God’s will and nothing we say will change their minds.

We can only pray and write our congressmen and local legislators to change these laws to protect the children. It is a no-brainer that there should be a ZERO tolerance policy for abusing children. O’Reilly does a great job in exposing those who think this sort of thing is acceptable.

I know this has been mentioned before, but we never had any final discussion. Does anyone have the knowledge, capability, and time to make an actual web page about the Alamo Foundation that would have infortmation about the actual truth about this destructive group??

It could have many purposes. Number one, to dispense the truth about TA himself. Links for help when someone leaves or gets kicked out. How to contact other former members. It would be a source of true information for people being solicited to join the group. (maybe they will think twice!) and for family members wondering what their child has gotten involved in. ETC ETC

Factnet is a good step in the right direction but it would be great if we could take it to the next level. There are lots of ideas but so far no one with the technical savvy has come forward to put this together. Is there ANYONE out there who can help??????

SALT LAKE CITY HEADLINES — Polygamist church leader Warren Jeffs has been placed on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list in hopes that the additional exposure and reward money will lead to his arrest.

Jeffs, 50, is accused of arranging marriages between underage girls and older men. He is wanted in Arizona on criminal charges of sexual conduct with a minor. He also was charged in Utah with rape as an accomplice.

"We are doing everything we can to track him down," Fuhrman, special agent in charge of the FBI's Salt Lake City field office, said Saturday.

Jeffs is the leader of the polygamous Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, based in the neighboring communities of Hildale, Utah, and Colorado City, Ariz.

The sect split from mainstream Mormonism after the broader church renounced polygamy in 1890. The mainstream LDS church excommunicates members found to be practicing polygamy.

Jeffs has not been seen by anyone outside of the FLDS community for nearly two years. He also faces a charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Larry King show was dedicated to the topic of Warren Jeffs and polygamy again last night, Mon May 8th. He has been added to the FBI's 10 most wanted list and they've upped the reward to $100,000. It is the exact problem as evidenced with Tony Alamo. One ex-wife of Warren Jeffs was talking about how everyone reports everything on everybody else, no birth control allowed, it's a mortal sin to complain about having one baby after another, sleep deprivation, etc etc.

It's too bad the FBI won't go after Alamo too. People should be OUTRAGED that people's human rights are being violated daily in Alamo's cult. Those little girls are living lives of slavery in there. They have no choice when Alamo tells them they have to marry him or some other old man. Alamo is pushing 80 years old. He is such a vile, perverse old man and still tries to pass himself off as a man of God. I assure you, he is not!

Wilma, before I proceed with this new development, I do have a caveat or two.

First, the radio was merely played as background noise, and the volume wasn't up to 10, unfortunately. Two, he didn't mention Alamo by name that I could hear.

That said, my best recollection was that I gathered that he was talking about a fundamentalist Christian sect (and not a Mormon sect) in the US wherein young women and girls were at the disposal of the leader. Even so, it seemed that O'Reilly was repeating exactly the same things said on this site. And given that one of the other posters here made some mention of the possibility of sending O"Reilly an email about this situation, everything seems to fit. And if I'm wrong about this development, I will apologize in advance....

My sense is that O'Reilly was referring to Alamo, since he was using some of the stats referred to on this site. The only other person in anything related tothe clergy accused of this would be a Mormon leader, and I do know for a fact that I didn't hear Bill say "Mormon" or "Latter Day Saints." I guess it's pretty much "wait and see" where this is concerned, but I think it could be worth listening to O'Reilly should there be any updates. If so, then I'll know exactly who he was referring to.

On the Alamo website, they have a list of all the radio stations who are currently broadcasting TA's garbage.

I have contacted several of the stations (by email) to clue them in on what a perv they have on their stations. I have told them that they are "Guilty by Association" by having him on their radio stations.

I think if more people contacted these radio stations and exposed TA for the perv he is, maybe someone would finally take notice and investigate.

Hey, looks like someone successfully posted a very good description of TA on the wikipedia website, under the section at the top. I haven't been keeping up with it lately but seems like there's been some controversy about TA on there. If anyone else knows how to log on there, maybe you can post your story too. I'll try to do a little bit when I get a chance...may be a little while. We had a nice get-together in Ft Smith. Not a lot of people came, but we met at the park and later went to visit a family where we had a BBQ, the kids swam, played on the trampoline, and the adults talked and sang gospel songs along with 12-string Tom. A good time was had by all. I'm looking forward to the Orlando reunion in 2007.

I think there is a strong possibility that it is not the Wikipedia people, but rather one of Tony's baby baboons that are hacking the wikipedia page. Some of TA's most devoted followers (TommyR) are known hackers. That would square with all the favorable BS that keeps popping up on wikipedia, such as the Nancy Ross propaganda and that TA is the greatest preacher lies.
