I thought I would take a break and give you something that I got this morning that was neat. perhaps some of you have already looked up familiar spirits...but I didnt till this morning.
I got an e-mail from Tommy Tenny about intimacey and Ill post just the first paragrah of his devotional.
"Those closest to the King will never presume familiarity with Him. Instead, they will exalt, honor, revere and worship Him more than those who are farther away. Why? Because the King's intimates know Him for who He really is. And that knowledge leaves them awestruck!"
This word familiarity jumped out so I thought of the verse about familiar spirits and looked that up. Lev. 19:31 .....when I read that the word prattling jumped out. I dont remember ever reading that word. I looked that up in Websters and it says.. trifling or empty talk, a sound that is meaningless , repetitive, and suggestive of the chatter of children.
the word familiar means in strong under lev.19:31...the same as( the idea of prattling a fathers name. (properly a mumble(from its hollow sound) Then I remembered the verse about not taking the lords name in vain Ex. 20:7 ....desolating, evil (as destructive) litterrally (ruin) or morally(especially guile) figuratively idolatry (as false , subjectively) useless...deceptive , objectively, also adverbally in vain) falsely, lie , lying, vain, vanity.
very interesting difference between intimate and familiar....go back and read that first paragraph again. God Bless You.
I had posted this on a previous thread but I felt it was worth repeating. GBUall
