This has nothing to do with the Alamo foundation, but I had an awesome, personal, revelation and I wanted to share it with anyone interested.

Some of you know that I am a Bible college student, in my second year. Anyway, I have a big end of year paper due in June. I have been meditating on what God would have me to research and write about. This scripture out of the book of Malachi has been steadily been called to my memory, over and over again.... Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. Of course all my life I wondered, "does God have wings?". So I went on to research every scripture where it references "wings". What I found was awesome!

The actual Hebrew word, for wings, used in the original text is "kanaph". The definition of the word kanaph is:
wing, extremity, edge, winged, border, corner, shirt
wing
extremity
skirt, corner (of garment)

It is interesting to note that it was the hem of Jesus' garment (his wing, or the hem of his vesture, robe, or garment) that the woman with the issue of blood touched and immediately received healing!

It is also awesome to consider that when David (from the book of Psalms) speaks of hiding in the "shadow if His wings" he is referring to he Lord's robes (of righteousness, and glory).

Picture for a moment if you will, yourself as a small, perhaps frightened or sad, child and the one person who you look up to and love, the one who protects you and keeps you from harm is wearing a robe with the dangling arms ... like the ones they wore back in the Bible days. Picture yourself running into those open arms. The robe's arms fall and it does resemble wings. Do you see it? If you were to run into those open arms you would be sheltered under the shadow or in the crook of that garment.

All these years I wondered if the Lord somehow had wings ... and I couldn't understand why, if we were made in His likeness and image, why didn't we have wings..... NOW I GET IT!!!

Thats awesome Becca, and a contrast between those just in His presence and those folded in the comfort and warmth of that garment, right at His side and tucked away safe. Also Psalms17:8, Psalms57:1, Psalm 61:4, Psalms 63:7, Psalm 91:1 (my favorate)Psalms91:4.
Psalm 91:4...the feathers being wings and the wings being extremities. Thanks Recca
