Hello, my name is Susan Alamo, I am from Texas. Recently I came into a huge amount of money, somewhere near forty billion, an inheritance from a rich uncle whom I mourn the death of very much. Anyways I have been in search of a good church to start my family in, I have triplet girls and I was not raised in a good church and so I have been investigating many churches. I came across the Tony Alamo church and since I shared the same last name, and ironically the same name as his late wife I took a few months to investigate. I want to find the right church, it's very important because I will be paying my tithing(ten percent as said in the Bible) on the forty billion dollars that I have been blessed with. I do not wish to make my payment to the wrong church though. I have researched Tony Alamo and the many accusations against him, then I found this website and started reading about abuse inflicted on people, coming from their posts and then I started reading alamosupporters posts and Ivy's and I realized that this is probably not the church I want to be in. I would be afraid if I disagreed with something the preacher said that alamosupporter or ivy might talk to me the way they talk to some of the people who post on this board and that is not how I want to be treated. I read on one post by alamosupporter something like Jesus is rough or something, I have read the Holy Bible through and through, i've even read the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants of the Mormons and Jesus was not a rough individual. Jesus healed the ear of a man who was coming to take him to be crucified, that dosen't sound rough to me. Alamosupporter and ivy and sometimes windycity seem to be the only ones who come on this site and say nice things about the Alamo's, well actually they way more bad about the people who used to be there than good about the church.
I just wanted to tell Alamosupporter, Ivy and Windycity thank you for opening my eyes before I donated money to a church that I would probably have never been blessed for doing so. I will find what I am looking for and I will be blessed greatly, but I know today I am blessed for reading these posts and confirming that the Alamo church is not the church I want to raise my daughters in. Thank you. Susan Alamo.

fulltither: On the off chance that this is for real, giving such a sum to any one church would do far more harm than good ,Human Nature being what it is.(just my .02$ worth)
Better to set up a charitable trust and fund outfits like Habitat for Humanity or Direct Relief International who use 80 to 90% of their funds to directly help people. (esp. in places like where the Tsunami hit last Dec.)

susan alamo - re: jesus being rough. He also went to the cross was buffeted and beaten to death for the sins of the world, for wretches. to me that's a very rough and tough man. tougher than anyone that ever walked the face of the earth. he also rebuked all the religious leaders who were very violent to their faces. he's tough and also very merciful and had a lot of compassion, I never said He didn't. If you read the Bible you must not have paid attention to much because it's obvious Jesus was as the King James puts it, "Austere"
austere
(adjective) 1 a : stern and cold in appearance or manner; b : SOMBER , GRAVE <an>; 2 : morally strict : ASCETIC ; 3 : markedly simple or unadorned <an> <an>; 4 : giving little or no scope for pleasure <austere>; 5 of a wine : having the flavor of acid or tannin predominant over fruit flavors usually indicating a capacity for aging
here's what the thesaurus says: Entry Word: austereFunction: adjective Text:
1 given to exacting standards of discipline and self-restraint <an> -- see SEVERE 1
2 harsh and threatening in manner or appearance <an> -- see GRIM 1
reference to Jesus-- Luke 19:21, 22

alamosupporter,
I am by no means a great scholar of Biblical teachings. I'm sure one of the "old timers" (I mean that with respect) can explain better than I can, but I don't see how you get that one meaning from that parable.
The scripture you are referencing is a parable told by Jesus in which a certain nobleman's servant describe the nobleman as an austere man.
Do you know what a parable is?
"a usually short fictitious story that illustrates a moral attitude or a religious principle"
A parable has a principle behind it. I don't believe this parable's message was "Jesus is austere."
The scripture does NOT say: Jesus was an austere man.
Most take the parable's teaching to be to spread the Gospel without fear, but of course you would take it to mean Jesus was an cold man.
Please note in the parable the servants who did good did NOT liken their Lord to be austere, just the servant who lived in fear.
And the same fearful judgmental servant also told his Lord: "For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow."
Hmm... Why would you take the fearful judgmental servants word over the servants who followed the instructions and did their Lord's will anyway?

Susan Alamo: Investing money with Tony Alamo would not be a very wise choice. Of course he would be very happy and would likely do just about anything to get his hands on dough like that, likely even con you out of more than 10%. He would also likely be very pleased to get his hands on your triplet daughters. So never mind the money, put up your guards just to save the kids!!!!

I doubt very seriously that there is someone out there named Susan Alamo who is about to inherit 40 billion dollars and just happened upon Factnet while searching for a church to donate money too. Get real! But the thought of TA trying to tack this person down through an IP address to get at the dough is pretty funny indeed. I am sure he has the big bros on this one. You know the "fumas". LMAO

jody, through those scriptures it is shown that Jesus is an austere man. it's very simple like the gospel but God has blinded you to that. You are not only a backslider and a false accuser and a liar, you're a heretic too. God through His whole Word shows He's austere. That's not an isolated parable. It lines up with the whole personality of God. Yeah God, the One you don't know and may have never known.

and Jody, i mean, what do you think the parable is trying to teach? are you really that blind? the Lord is warning that someone who knows that God is austere and wont do what He says is in serious trouble with God. come on!

alamosupporter,
You appear to be just like Tony when it comes to viewing the Scriptures. You seem to dwell on fear and condemnation. Jesus died for our sins. Why? Because he loved us. That simple.
How many scriptures even use the word austere? How many scriptures use the word love?
In that parable the Lord of the servant used the servant's own words to judge him: "And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant."

alamosupporter,
I know you said that you would not address me anymore, but yet you have in quite a few posts. Why? Should I call you a liar? No. I believe you simply changed your mind.
But yet you are so quick to say awful things about me: "You are not only a backslider and a false accuser and a liar, you're a heretic too."
Do you think the name calling really means anything to me? Simply stated: You are not my God, nor my Judge. You will never be.
Just as the Scripture says: "There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?" (Jas 4:12)

Although the name calling doesn't matter to me, it does not appeal to the average reader's logic. You are losing your audience by being immature...

the Bible brings the message of sterness just as much if not more than the love message. Love is the keeping of God's commanments. Jesus said "I am your friend IF you do whatsoever I command you" john 15:14

Alamosupporter,
When I stated: "Although the name calling doesn't matter to me, it does not appeal to the average reader's logic. You are losing your audience by being immature..."
I was not speaking for God. I don't claim to do so. I let the scriptures do that.
That was a little education for you that I learned while taking communication classes. I would think you would know all about successful communication and holding your audience's attention considering the impressive position you hold with a large newspaper company. Most people, when they see such viciousness in your posts, they will just tune you out.

to: a-lame-O support hose.
O would you pu-leeze just shut up? You really have no understanding of Jesus, His teachings or really any thing the Bible teaches. You constantly misquote, twist, bend and take out of context almost every scripture you talk about!
Jesus said this....( and yes I know that I am paraprhasing) that all of the law and the prophets hang on these two statements; To love the Lord thy God with all your heart, mind, body, soul, and strength; and to love your neighbor as your self. Paul said that he preached only Jesus Christ and Him crucified. That is the whole crux of the Bible, that Jesus died for our sins, because the Father loved us beyond measure.
Can we please go back to you ignoring us? Honestly, we really don't mind. Go ahead, go away and tell phony how wonderful he is, but leave the discussions to people who actually have a relationship with their Lord and Savior and not the self-proclaimed "World pastor".

DEE DE DEE!! The retarded kid is still here!
do you really think that <u>you</u> can "shut me up"?
and for the record GTH, my Mom doesn't smoke.
you know, I noticed something. The side that is speaking out against phony a-lame-o, are open about who they are (with the few exceptions of people who have relatives inside the cult that they are trying to protect) and tell us their names; but the side that spews lies, hatred, nasty name calling, and twist whatever scriptures that phony tells them to mangle...well, they never really say who they are (well, except for a few of them, who were only allowed to post for a little while, then it was back to lying on their backs for papa smut).
So....GTH,and SOUSMIRROR....who are you?
are you really afraid of one "retarded kid"?
Because if so, that is pretty dam funny...DEE deh DEE!!http://www.factnet.org/discus/clipart/crazy.gif}

hey chris we are free to be anything we choose in this reality. they cant do or be anything but what toilet bowl okays for them. and the coolest thing is that when you love them unconditionally and they hate unconditionally its very obvious to see whos enjoying reality.
who cares what they think, they are just trying to make you as miserable as they are because they are impotent human beings. without true dreams. powerless to make their own choice. they reek of an ugly fart. and their stench goes all the way to the heavens.

EO.....Thats funny you should mention David Icke.
I just saw a documentary on the History channel all about: skull and bones, bildebergers, trilateral commission, councel on foreign relations, etc... and David was one of the speakers. It was a bit censored, considering it was on the television; but they snuck it in late at night. It was all there, in black and white, documented proof showing the path that amerika is on towards a one world order.
Hooray for knowledge! Hooray for freedom! Hooray for speaking your peace!
I just had a thought....people tell me quite often, that I should be thankful that I am in amerika, and that I have freedoms that no other country enjoys. Well, isn't the meaning of freedom...just that! That it is free; no one can give it to you or take it away from you.
God made me free and no matter where I live, if I choose to be free....I am free.
Freedom does not depend on your geography, religious or political affiliation, etc. Who is going to take my freedom from me? Yeah, "they" may kill my body, or torture and imprison this body of mine; but that doesn't make a slave. In fact that makes me even more free! Free from this mortal shell, to return to the Creator. So to any who would seek freedom; you already have it, just take and use it.
thankfull
