Former Fouke City Official Wants to Tell Her Side</font>

I am the former secretary for the City of Fouke. I held this position for more than seven years and I enjoyed serving the residents of the City of Fouke while I held it.
I believe that the time has come for the entire truth to be known concerning the new mayor in the City of Fouke. Mr. Purvis made statements in an article in your newspaper on Sunday, Jan. 21, concerning the disrepair of the city equipment, the nastiness of city hall, the unwillingness of former employees and the former mayor to assist in the transition. I would like to tell you the rest of the story.
Mr. Purvis did not mention any of the reasons why things are the way they are. For instance he did not mention that I, along with 2 or 3 other city employees, had been threatened with our jobs for months. I wonder why this conveniently slipped his mind? This was all done to make him look as if he were just up there winging it because he has had no help to make this transition.
First of all, everything that could have possibly been done to close out the final book work for 2006 was done, completed and sealed when I left City Hall after working 13 hours on Saturday, Dec. 30, along with Renee Williams and Wanda Harris. As a matter of fact, we worked for several nights prior to the change in administration to complete everything that we could so that the transition would not be so hard on Mr. Purvis. We did the final billing for the utility systems, we completed the end of the year payroll, filled out the 1099 and W-2s and I even came back after the New Year and closed the bank statements out for December so that the City Council would have a complete set of financial statements. He also did not mention that I, personally, have been to City Hall several times to aid both him and the new secretary, Tammy, so as to help them to learn at least one of the software programs in the computer. Neither did he mention that he has not hesitated to call me for assistance—even when I have been on my job. He calls my cell phone, not the city’s cell phone, but my personal cell phone to inquire about different things and I have yet to tell him not to call me back, nor have I refused to help in any way.
Another thing that he failed to mention was the water and sewer. I continue to hold the operating license for both—at least for now. Awfully funny that everyone is still drinking the water (and they have not died from it yet) and flushing their commodes just fine, considering how no one has helped poor Mr. Purvis.

As for the status of the city equipment, to my knowledge, there were two trucks that were not running when I left the city full-time in November. But that really is not that important of an issue. This is because Mr. Purvis also failed to tell in his article that the city laborers worked diligently for the most part of the last month of 2006 to complete several large jobs that we had going. He never mentioned in his article a single thing positive that had been done to assist in this transition.
I have offered my services and experience to the city in an offer to help train the new secretary. After the article that appeared in the paper, I feel that there needs to be an apology printed and the truth to be told concerning what Mr. Purvis told in his article.
One good example of offering to help was the first payroll period of this New Year. I offered to go and help the new secretary. Mr. Purvis made the statement that he believed they could do it. Well, apparently, he doesn’t know much concerning tax revenues and utility revenues because he paid the city employees for work they had done in water for that week out of the street fund. This is a big time no-no.
A lot of you think that Terry has done such an excellent job since Jan. 1. Tell me one thing that you can actually see that has been done. Just one. The secretary is still handwriting receipts. Why? The computer does this for you and if she learned the computer so quickly, why isn’t she posting the payments when someone brings their payment in? What have you seen done outside? Not much of anything but a lot of riding around town and burning up gas. I have noticed several places that need patching in the streets from all of the water that we have had recently. I cannot see where these city employees are doing a whole lot to keep the city in good physical condition.
The comments that Mr. Purvis made concerning members of the community volunteering to help find the water meters so that they can be read are not correct. A former city employee, Brady Lewis, is reading the meters for the billing as I write this letter to you.

As for the comments concerning the cleaning of City Hall, that entire building had been cleaned from top to bottom before we left there. So, you have actually only done routine cleaning to keep City Hall clean, nothing major, like you have made out to people.
As for the former mayor, I cannot speak for him. But if I were him, I wouldn’t help Mr. Purvis either. You do not know the things that have been said about him and his family by Mr. Purvis and his supporters.

A lot of people do not realize the harsh things that have been done and said to some of us and the newspaper has only painted one side of this picture. So, I believe that it is time for the entire picture to be completed. They drug my husband, my 17-year-old daughter and my three year-old son into this like a bunch of vultures waiting for a dying deer to take its last breath.
During the time when Mr. Purvis was running for office, he had quite a few supporters. My only problem with any of this was the fact that he involved a lot of people who do not even own property, live, pay taxes or own a business in Fouke, rallied on his side. Then, the influence of these people set in and began to take its effect on a large portion of the residents that do live here, own property here, pay their taxes or operate a business here. These people ran this campaign like they were out to get blood—like a pack of wild dogs. Plain and simple, if you do not have a right to voice your opinion concerning the status of the City of Fouke, meaning that you do not have anything that ties you to Fouke, stay out of our business and find another bandwagon to get on.
This election was handled in a very tacky way. People who were innocent, that were not even running for a political seat, and their families have been dragged through this like this were a big-time presidential election and all of the stops had been pulled out to make sure that the right person won this election. Well, Citizens for a Good Community, you have gotten the change that you so badly wanted and, Terry, you have gotten what you wanted. So, let’s see what kind of change this is really going to be. It probably is not going to be what you expected.
Well, you didn’t have a chance to get rid of me because I left on my own accord. The city marshal has resigned as of Jan. 31; I wonder what caused that? Maybe some of this back-biting has finally gotten to him, too. And as for the Alamo Ministries, you guys had better put on your waders because I think you are going to need them.
Yes, Fouke is definitely changed now. I believe that the downfall is upon us. We now have a mayor and a group that wants to control who can live within our community. Way to regress, Fouke. This type of thing makes me ashamed to say that I live in this community.
It is time for the people who don’t have any ties to Fouke to move on and stay out of business before we end up in court and broke.

I would think, she would have more concern, there may be many more young girls, that will end up being raped, beaten, or forced into marriages against their will. All this in her own city.

Exposing Tony Alamo is a moral and civic duty. The fact that the citizenry rose up, shows moral courage on their part.

I wanted to let you know a couple of things funny that went on here last week. First last Saturday , the Alamo goonies approached van guy's wife on Walmart parking lot in Texarkana and tried to give her their tracts. She said no but they persisted. She said she was from Fouke and knew all about their "ministry"
and to leave her alone but she felt intimidated by them sooo, van guy went on a rampage when she told him about what happened. First he called the corporate office ,which a lot more of us have since then to report it. (We got good results too.) Now this was on a pretty , sunny Saturday. Everyone was out and about. He paints on his van, "World Pastor is a Child Rapist" and drove around the cult, up and down highway, and town. Another thing last Tuesday after the Citizens For a Better Community meeting, that Buster, Don Sweet and cult camera guy attended, a bag of Alamo's garbage tracts got delivered back to his compound. Then Thursday night in front of the video store, local police were called because of a verbal altercation. Van guy (under his breath) said " that sure was a bull**** article in the paper" while going to his car. Well none other than Alamo's new girl Friday Melanie heard him and went on a Tony induced fit. Van guy kept his cool, told her 16 yr old son to get his butt back in the van. Van guy listen to all these lies Melanie was saying he was suppose to have done. He just told her she was crazy. No arrest made Ha. One thing about living in a little town, we make our own entertainment

The funny thing is that every one of the exmembers have seen this same scenario played out countless times.

Tony builds someone up to make them feel like they are the most important person on earth. Tony Alamo wants something from her. Influence in town? maybe, talent and labor, probably a better guess. Or, he may just want to conquer another female body. Then again maybe she has cash. Time will tell.

One thing is for sure. When Tony Alamo gets done with her, he will throw her away like yesterdays newspaper. Just like he has done to one person after another, and one wife after another. Last nights dinner, on to the next meal. Eventually, she will be the weasel, he will be talking about.

Tell Saved on Factnet that the only thing Melanie has to offer is that she knows the faces of Fouke residents. That's all. She has no money unless her old man makes a lot on unemployment or drugs.

When we read on Factnet people asking why the people of Fouke don't do something to stop that pervert, we want to scream out we're doing everything we can. Our hearts break for what you all have gone through and what the children there now have to endure. We'd go up there and take them and anyone else out and into our homes if we could. Tell your friend in Fouke, that we understand their frustration with having an active, practicing, child molester in their midst. Assure the good folk in Fouke, they have done a lot. Their labors have not been in vain.

This is just like handing your enemy a hand grenade. He will use this statement to smear your town, and to instill fear in his followers.

The officer is wrong. He probably said it out of the disgust for what Tony Alamo is doing. In reality, no one would really want that to happen. Especially not to the children.

Children are resilient. As the testimonies of many children who are no longer there shows.

Even though, there are a lot of crazy rules that change at Tony Alamos' whim. When Tony is not interfering with their day to day routine, they are probably just trying to be kids. It is just a guess, but I imagine the mothers and fathers are trying to raise their kids with love and understanding also.

<u>Truth</u>, is Tony Alamos' biggest enemy. Also, kindness, prayer, and the love of Christians toward his flock. There is nothing that will drive him crazy faster.

Tony Alamo is breaking the law. He is having sexual relations with minors. Stay vigilant. Sooner or later, charges will be able to be brought that will stick. That is probably when the cornered rat will be the most dangerous. Especially to his own flock. Be ready to help them.

That statement was made in anguish by one outside this area. Nobody that any of us around Fouke
knows would ever do anything like that. It was only a statement said in haste. It was repeated to show
how some view our problem here. We do not worry about what Tony thinks or preaches his followers. We
wish we had the opportunity to help the children and any that wants to leave but we will wait. I'm sorry if
you thought that was what people in Fouke was thinking. It is not.

News from Texarcana

An area store manager noticed when some Alamo followers pulled into his parking lot and got out with their
tracts to pass out. He always watches for them but he finally caught 3 men. He snatched the pamphlets they were trying to pass out to some customers and threw them back at the followers. Told them to take their trash and leave and if he caught them there again he'd hold them till the authorities arrived. The manager then went in and started calling other local businesses that were close by to tell them the followers were out. People are getting tired of them I'm telling you.

Looked at your Yahoo site. I barely recognize Ben Edwards...he's gotten so old and fat, not at all the way I remember him. The guy with him looks like the way Sanford White used to look, but Sanford must be ancient by now, so rule him out. The other picture is Don Thorne, who's also looking a bit rough these days. I'd have to get finger prints and DNA to identify the other 2. Not a clue, and I probably know them.

I have just spoken to a friend in Fouke. She, as well as I , beseech EVERYONE to write to the Gazette and tell them NOT to give in , but to demand proof of these accusations, because there isn't any. I also plan on writing this low down law firm and telling them what I think of them, after giving them links to all the pertinent sites about Alamo. It probably won't do a damn bit of good, but maybe, just maybe, if they are inundated with letters from ALL of us, they will think twice about this "client" of theirs.

Story goes he received the e-mail from the supposed Alamo lawyer and also a visit from Buster White himself. Buster demanded them to retract what Jim Williamson had wrote and the gazette refused. Anyway, White demanded Les Minor print a retraction concerning the article Mr Williamson wrote about the guards. Mr Minor didn't take any thing off him and White left MAD. All Hell broke loose in Fouke last night. An emergency, and unscheduled council meeting was called with no time to give proper notice to the citizens. The meeting was called by the council members in Tony's pocket. It's purpose was to close all future votes concerning the street outside the church. People did find out about it and showed up in droves. The Gazette threatened Fouke with a lawsuit for improper non posting of a council meeting, and I hear that all the council members not in Tony's pocket were served legal papers by tony's lawyers. The photo on the front page of the article is Sherry Potts, one of "our" staunchest supporters. Mayor Terry refused to call the meeting to order, so it really was not a meeting, and after 4 police cars showed up, all ended well. The real meeting is tonight.

Don't know how it happened, but at last night's council meeting, the vote to survey the road outside the church was struck down. There will be NO survey, even though it was going to be done for free.
Funny thing is, the vote was NOT on the agenda for last night's meeting. That was the reason for the secret meeting the night before. Yet the vote still went thru, after mayor Terry was presented with a letter from TA's lawyers, with the usual threats.
THe "good" citizens of Fouke are outraged.

What does it mean? Does this mean they can continue to block the street or that a survey was not necessary to go through with the plans to make it a through street? I'm confused.

The people of Fouke are confused too, Hbanana. We are truly sick over this situation. I was told that the only way the survey can be done is if the entire city is surveyed. We can't single out Alamo's property. The Alamo camp had already told the council they would not allow the survey to be done. However, if the entire city is surveyed they would have to comply. At least in theory they would. They seem to be able to do most anything they choose to do.

This whole nasty scene has absolutely torn Fouke apart. Brother against brother...friend against friend. Biting and devouring one another like rabid dogs. I am totally disheartened.

Then Alamo sits back and vilifies Fouke and its residents on his radio programs. Calling us devils, liars, perverts. A barrel of snakes slithering around, a city of losers. Then they wonder why the citizens are outraged.

Why in the world his followers can't see through his facade is beyond me. We the citizens of Fouke ask for your prayers. This battle has cost us much already.

I am sorry to hear about the division and strife in Fouke. This is Tony Alamos' modus operand. He thrives in chaos. Simple truth, honesty, and openness are his most feared enemies.

Believe it or not he does the same thing with his own flock. Keeping them off balance, pitting one against another. One day someone will be exalted, the next day they can be a devil. All according to his mood of the day.

I do not have a personal stake in Fouke, but I do know Tony Alamo. All he is interested in is the exaltation of his own self. Anyone that gets in the way of that goal is going to be vilified and demonized.

Don't become a victim. Know what the truth is in your own heart and keep your peace with God.

We will not cease to fight. If we give up we are in essence saying it is okay what Tony Alamo does. It is not okay. Someone has to speak for those who have no voice. I would rather be remembered as someone who took up the fight than someone who stood by and did nothing.

Exactly what do they plan on doing to the HUNDREDS of other eye witnesses who say the same thing? Are they showing prejudice towards a Fouke citizen? Like I asked, what about all the other people, web sites, testimonies, Alamo's own words? Did they forget about them?

They may can bully the council members but that's as far as it goes. In case they haven't noticed, Tony's not here. He's left them to clean up his messes. They are up to their necks in it. Alamo's words speak for themselves. He called the people of Fouke, perverts, fools, devils, lovers of smut, vomit lapping dogs. Strong words for a so called preacher. Sorry Buster, your pastor's messages are weak. We are all entitled to our opinions. You all continue to say what you want to about us and we'll do the same. At least we're not saying it daily on a radio broadcast. YET!

Wish you all could have been at the meeting last night. Buster White wanted 5 minutes to speak and he started out by saying how so many people had been calling his pastor names. He singled out Ryan and then he threatened all of us if we said anything else about tony alamo. He then accused the mayor of lying. He was stopped at that point and then I heard Sherry Potts get him. She told him she was an American. She would say anything she chose to say just like he did. She said if she wanted to call alamo names that she would. She told him to call his so called attorney in New York and let him try to do anything about it. She asked him if he heard him and if he understood her and he was to afraid to say anything back. His face was deathly white but he knew what she said was the truth. I don't remember what all was said but she nailed him good. He then went outside and started all his lies again as if the mayor could do anything about all their problems. He complained because someone put a half sheet of information on his car about the cult. Sherry asked him why he was so upset when they put their trash on every body's cars. I think they finally realize that the people of Fouke have had it with them. They aren't afraid of them anymore. Bill Chandler did a super job.

I applaud you both and Sherry and Terry and hope that the good citizens of Fouke will continue to stand together and support one another against this madman Tony Alamo. Obviously, he will try to pick you out individually and threaten legal action and scare people into backing down against speaking what is true and righteous. Some of us here in Fouke have tried to stay out of the lime light in our efforts to expose Tony Alamo but obviously his followers hate all of us anyway. Therefore...we the citizens of Fouke are going to make an all out effort to expose the truth about Alamo and the atrocities he has and continues to execute upon people.

At the last council meeting, Buster White said
"There are rumors being spread by people in this town, calling our pastor a pedophile. Well, he is deeply hurt by this and there is no truth to it. He is 72 years old and is just sickened and hurt by these false rumors and if they don't stop we are going to take legal action against you."

If I am not mistaken...the burden of proof will be on them to prove the accusations are not true. I doubt seriously if Tony or Buster White could stand up to the scrutiny of such action. Mr. White is not so squeaky clean himself. As a matter of fact, his own business practices have come under fire in the last few weeks. I'm sure we will be hearing more about that in the weeks to come.

In this neck of the woods if you mess with children, you are a pedophile. People around here don't cotton to that very well. No child should have to be exposed to the gropings of a filthy minded old man just to satisfy his own perverted lusts.

I do not advocate hate and I don't agree with some who have said they wish harm on Alamo and his people. I, instead, wish all of them could come to know and understand the love of Jesus. I honestly and sincerely have tried to figure out a way to get this message of hope to them. I believe there are some inside those closed gates who have no idea they are deceived.

However, I also believe there are many who are willingly ignorant of the truth. By aiding and abetting Tony Alamo...they are just as guilty of doing damage to young minds as he. The Bible says it would be better for a millstone to be hung around their necks and they be cast into the sea, than for them to harm one of God's little ones.

Shame on you Tony Alamo for doing these perverse and horrid things under the guise of religion. You have spit out some vile accusations against some of our own people and then proceeded to say God told you to say it. Fouke is located in the southwestern part of the state, south of Texarkana.
Zoom in on Fouke, specifaically Hiway 71 at the bend in the road at the north end of town.
Switch to satellite view.
You will notice a cluster of building on the left with brown roofs and a red and blue striped circular thing . This is a carousel, and the brown roofs are TA's house. You also see the swimming pool.THe large white square building across the street to the north, is the state of the art health club that he built. Going north there is a lot of empty land and then a road and across the road is the church, running parallel to the hiway. This road is Circle Drive, the one he wanted closed
This satellite image is about 1 1/2 years old. Things are a little different now. Behind the church, you see three small houses. There are now 8. Filling up the empty land between his house and the church are now lots of trailers that have been brickfaced.
He also owns the house closest to the church right on the hiway.

Once again Topix has done it. I had restarted an Alamo thread in the Fouke forums and it lasted 3 days. TO the best of my knowledge there was no "breach of terms" as Topix would put it. There was no foul language, etc. The best I can come up with is that 2 new people posted, obviously familiar with Ta and the church. According to them, Tony would sh*t if he knew they were posting and that they knew a LOT of dirt about him and the church. I had addressed one of them, andd was hoping for a reply today, but alas, it's gone.I guess they were telling the truth and TA somehow got it pulled. It's so frustrating..............
