Anchored, A few days ago you asked me about my departure from the foundation. I explained it. I am curious about your "departure testimony."
To be fair I think it would be nice if you shared it since I have. Also, it would be interesting for anyone else that would like to post their departure testimony.

Well I, too, have posted it many, many times before.

Anyway, here it is again. It's real simple, heynow. The Lord opened my eyes and I saw the real Tony Alamo for the first time. I was at a service in that little church off Grand Ave. I saw Tony Alamo on the pulpit and for the whole service all he did was boast and brag about all of his accomplishments. As he rambled on about himself - I this, and I that and what great things I've accomplished, etc. in other words, how great I am, the Lord began opening my eyes. In all that time he spent lifting up his own name, he never once mentioned the name of Jesus. Suddenly, the Lord opened my eyes and my understanding and I saw a dwarf of a man hiding behind those dark glasses standing up there droning on about himself putting everyone to sleep. The Lord showed me that he had departed from Tony Alamo. A month went by, and even though I had already stopped attending services, Rita W. & Joe O. kept calling a couple times a week asking for money and saying that Tony needs finances. I thought, yeah, I'll bet he does. It wasn't long after that I heard about the polygamy thing. I got the heck outta town. Later I talked with Velda Fern and Fayette who were also at that service where he glorified himself. They, also, said that was the last service they would ever go to.

I have also posted my departure from the pervert's "church" many times, but for the edification of anyone who hasn't heard it, here goes.... my ex-husband was one of 4 guys holding the arms and legs of 11 year old Justin Miller, for a most horrific example of child-abuse. he was swatted 140 or more times, by a grown man, while being held up in the air, screaming, crying, and BLEEDING !! for some childlike pranks, from what I understand. all children in the Saugus, Ca. "church" were ordered to be there for the BEATING, then, a while later, toni alamo called them all back over to try some brainwashing on them, telling them "you never saw a spanking" "nobody was spanked" "there was no spanking, O.K.?" because of my ex-husband's involvement, and because the oldest child there (J.S.) told me she also saw BLOOD, I was SURE that toni was LYING. around 4 years later, when toni started to make "polygamy plans" and was not only married to Sharon and Lydia (don't know if he had married Jody yet) someone told me he was going after a visiting Christian named Isabel. we were already out of the phony alamo org., and glad of it. the U.S. marshals had supposedly been parked on both ends of our street (Vassar st, in Canoga Pk, Ca.) this scared toni into ushering us out of the foundation. it was an exception to the rule, because everyone before us had either been booted out or left on their own accord. we were put in a cheap motel (I think it's called the cloud 9) in Sepulveda (a total dive) we were told that that was all the money toni had given them for a motel room. we also were told to "get LOST!!" to never contact anyone at the "church" again, or go to any of their properties. after this treatment by toni, I was nothing but GLAD to be leaving all toni's confusion behind me, and start life over. it was NOT EASY, but well worth it !!!!!! thankyou Jesus for deliverance from that phony, self-absorbed FALSE PROPHET !!

It was shortly before bakes that I left in 1973. I had a pretty good memory for being one of the N. Crescent Heights crowd. All the promises and projections made by Tony and Sue just weren't happening, other than the Davenport house being built for a futherance of their cushy existence.

I recalled the two tiered standard of living explained as that, Tony and Sue had already 'paid the price' and that the creature comforts could not stumble their soul, but we munchkins had to crucify our flesh in abject poverty until that time when we were strong enough not to be tempted. The time never came.

Initially I joined in, I would go with that, glad to gut it out in order to reach out to the lost and dying, if thats what it took. But after almost three years when the world was supposed to be coming to an end, the anticipated progress was also greatly lacking. Very few new souls were coming to services in 1973. The 'members' were no further ahead than when they started, like frozen in time.

I talked to Tony, told him I was a bit disturbed, thought maybe a weekend pass and a fast to Saugus 3 would help. His answer was yes, but that I really did not believe that Jesus Christ is coming back to earth, nor the world was coming to an end.

I was disturbed alright, not quite sure at the time who was doing the distubing, thought it mostly my own fault somehow, with such pining away of all zeal. Tonys answer did not seem to address the issue, so I prayed till I was blue in the face for weeks. Still no answer, from what I could tell. So I took that as a no, and I left Saugus 2 with the shirt on my back and a sleeping bag (the perks of being a clothing room overseer.)

The ulterior motives of Tony and Sue were only at their infancy then, and the current craziness was not yet happening, but I was dazed and confused. 2 and 2 was not making 4. Did not really know why till later, so remained a supporter from afar, accepting responsibility as mostly my own fault. I was still rather deceived and in denial long after I left.

In subsequent years, especially after the craziness began, I so often wondered why the Lord gathered us to a place administered by a couple of liars, to call us, save and anoint us, and when we would steadfastly ask and pray for a heads up on the truth of the matter, why the answer was so long in coming. I understand about the wheat growing up with the tares thing, but do still wonder.

The eternal God has to stir us up to do anything. He provided sex and orgasm, else we would not ever procreate. Provided the Holy Spirit, born again experience, anointings, so that we would be inspired with the power and reason to do good, and act right. But these things can be used properly, or abused. Tony Alamo has become one poster child for abusing it all.

I am thankful for this forum and the respondents for the collective input in sorting it all out. We will know it better, by and by........G

One time when I was kicked out,I was in down town L.A.heading home and I came up getting caught on the filming set of Hiway to Heaven,and I was able to have a good long witness,with Michael Landon,and Victor French.

Our younger son was accused of throwing a grapefruit out the bus window and hitting a car windshield, almost causing the car to crash.

Bob and I were out in LA selling jackets for Alamo design.

Jared told toni alamo he didn't throw the grapefruit out the window.

Tony said, "I just prayed and the Lord told me you are lying"

Jared wasn't lying - tommy shoemaker throw the grapefruit out the window, but who would stand up to tony and tell him that he really didn't hear from the Lord.

After hours of going back and forth, toni decided Jared could stay but he would have to take 40 swats.

This 14 year old kid had more courage than grown men at the foundation.

He stood his ground and said, "I'm not taking any swats for something I didn't do". So he was kicked out of the foundation over toni lying and saying God told him Jared was lying!

Tony told Bob to call Bob's sisters and send our son to live with one of them!

That is where we drew the line - we were not sending our son to live with one of Bob's sisters!

Tony put Jared on a plane from Arkansas and sent him out to LA. We picked our son up at the airport and left the foundation that day!

The false accusation against Jared caused us to leave the foundation. Tony did not hear from the God of Heaven, but from the accusers of the saints!

Every other Sunday we would drive down to LA and goes to services. On one visit Katrina (who was 12 or 13 years old) called me aside to talk to me.

I knew Katrina had just returned from being in Colorado with Tony's wives and she had been going to visit Tony in prison.

This beautiful young lady, (who I had known all her life) began telling me about the visits she had with Tony Alamo.

She told me all the perverted things tony alamo had whispered in her ears about what he was going to do to her with his hands, his mouth and how large his penis was. She told me many distrubing, pervert things tony had told her and that she was going to be his wife. She said how tony put his pervert hands on her body.

I sat there in horror! I believed her because there was no way this little girl knew this sexual information except told by that sexual predator, tony alamo

Katrina said tony alamo told her not to tell her parents.

I told her she had to tell her mother, and we went and got her mother and she repeated the story to her mother.

That was it for me!

Here is what I know regarding Tony Alamo: I came to the foundation a long time ago and I really got saved and filled with the Holy Spirit and dedicated my life to serving the Lord Jesus Christ. To make a long story short, about 10 years ago, during the time when Tony Alamo was in prison he had asked if my 12 year old daughter, Katrina could come and stay at his house to be a companion to his stepdaughter, Rebecca, who also had been a good friend to my daughter. They were to be home schooled together. It sounded fine to my daughter and me.

At first I heard regularly from my daughter but after awhile I stopped being contacted. This started to really bother me so I told Tony I wanted her back home. Of course Tony rebuked me and told me I was interfering with God's will. Much to my relief my daughter was sent home shortly after the rebuke from Tony Alamo.

After Katrina returned home I was told by her the most horrifying story I had ever heard about Tony Alamo. The perverted things he was doing and the appalling things that he had poisoned my daughter with.

When she would go to the prison along with other little girls, ages ranging anywhere from 11 years to 17 years, Tony would not talk to them about the Bible, like I would expect, but rather Tony Alamo would tell them that they were to be his wives...some already were!! He warned them not to tell their parents, because they wouldn’t understand and may cause a scene!

Katrina was given explicit details of everything from oral sex, how Tony and his other little-girl wives were going to have threesomes once he was out of prison, he also bragged about the (supposed) size of his penis, and many other disgusting pornographic subjects that would repel any decent adult. This little girl who never watched TV or heard a cuss word was freaked out by the things “Papa Tony” told her. Katrina would tell me how, when in the prison visiting room, the girls would take turns being shields and keeping their eyes open for the guards while Tony would reach his dirty, perverted hands up the girls blouses, etc!

Needless, to say I was sickened beyond description upon learning these sordid details and moved fast and far away from that horrid place very soon afterwards. I don't like to think about Tony and the atrocities that are, to this day taking place there still, and from what I hear, are more brazen and bad than ever before.

I felt it was my responsibility as someone who knew first hand of the truths regarding this perverted Tony Alamo. To share it, if peradventure, it could help someone out. I know my little 12 year old girl did not make that stuff up; she heard it from the self-proclaimed 'world pastor, Tony Alamo'. I am thankful to the Lord Jesus from the depths of my heart for delivering my family out of the Alamo Foundation. It truly does amaze and sadden me that some mothers and fathers, some still in the Alamo Foundation and that they would allow their precious little girls to be offered up to that perverted, child molesting old man...to have sex with and be subject to his deviate sexual abuses.

Imagine yourselves for one moment back when you were 10. 11, 12 years old and your own mom or dad forcing you to “marry” a 70 some year old man and have him on top of you, raping you!

What ever you heard from Tony and Susan about why a brother or a sister left is the best lie they could manage. Feel proud and a true Christian folks. It is never any one thing that sets you down the happy road. The reason is and was obstacles to you as a human being. Everything else was a lie- A fabrication.
What made me leave was comprehensive:

1). I concluded TA'S testimony was a big yarn(fairy tale). He made allot of it
up. Both Tony and Susan Alamo were failures in their chosen careers.
Susan wanted to be an actress.Tony a singer. That's the brake's baby.

2). It was senseless to consider that I would have any future there. It was
apparent that Tony and Susan controlled lives. They made and broke
marriages. They told people what to do where to work, etc.

3). It became obvious that they both misconstrued world and personal events; This is day one in the church: You buy into a paranoid reality. Members activities and words were twisted. World events were quoted from rag sheets.
The tract of Alamo was a resume for the nut house. Catholics, Plots, Nazis,
Communists. Who could read all that to get to the sinners prayer?

4.) NO PAIRING OFF. This one rule was the key. It made people there
homogenized. No loyalties. No personal ties that would cause division.
It served as control both in and out of the foundation. It worked to cast
member against member. It was subtle and shaded allot of deception.
This was how they made up lies about people there.False accusations and
reports and senseless watch shifts. All night two people had to pull a night
watch. After you left you could be pretty messed up(scattered).


5.) It was apparent from office documents that the income was concealed.
Property taxes were paid. Income tax was not represented. Stacks of
money were on the table in the A-Frame house. Totals were counted
from the businesses and went straight to Tony. Everyone looked shady
and paranoid around Tony. Like a shell-shocked quality in the eyes.
I saw no income statement or balance sheet.

6.) The death of Susan Alamo was within a few years.Upon her death things would be crazy. Susan admitted Tony was not strong; Not leader material. I felt that Tony was unstable. He acted paranoid and stupid. He was a cruel and angry person. Too much ego. I still remember people around him like he was a god. How can they buy into that nonsense. Why was I there!!!

7.) From existing conditions I concluded several things: A raid from the IRS
would come within a few years. Property would be seized and members
would be left homeless. No member owned anything it was all Alamo.
Eventually Tony would have his day in court and would be put in prison.
I projected this myself and had to keep it to myself because any form of
doubt was damnation. It was 1980 and enough was enough so GOOD-BY
PASTOR FROM HELL. It was fair weather to abandon ship. I bailed.
