My sons were beaten on several occasions by the command of Tony Alamo. One of the offenses my son committed and was beaten for was his friend and schoolmate Susie R had just married Peter. My son admired Susie's wedding ring, she took it off her finger and my son place the ring on his pointer finger down to the 1st knuckle to admire her ring, told his schoolmate how beautiful her ring was and gave it back to her.

Tony Alamo said my son committed adultrey (he was 15 years old) and commanded him to be beaten 70 swats!

Funny, I remember in the early days the obvious assertion how wacked out a 'works' heresy the horse and buggy crowd, the quakers, amish, etc., were thought to be because they were so corporal/carnal using the physical rod and all, thus did not find faith in the right words, Word.

Seems like TA adopted and morphed into those folks type of unbelief and really took it to a whole new level of depravity after Susie could not break ice from the casket. Whats next? Jihad?

While I was at the Alamo compound, most of our food came from "pickups". This was usually outdated food that was donated (sometimes for animal food, since we went into the facility manager with a story of how we needed it to feed our pigs), but mostly obtained by dumpster diving. Toni would approve the gas money for pickups every night when he did the finance list. Later, he said that he never knew about pickups. When the pickups crews brought in the food, it would be covered in garbage from being in the dumpsters. The kitchen crews (and "the group")would sort, clean, and peel rotten spots off the food before storing it or cooking for meals. The congregation went through a period of gastrointestinal illnesses from eating this food. We called it the "RGBs" or rot gut burpees, because when you burped, it would make a horrendous smell like you had passed gas.

This was part of the "free room and board" that T&S offered to the "drug addicts and hippies" that they rescued from the streets and brought to Jesus.

There were a handful of married couples living in the Alamo cult when I got there. They were provided with one room shacks for living quarters. They had no heat, electricity (unless someone jerry rigged some)or other conveniences...just a bed and maybe a chest to store clothes. This was living high compared to what the single brothers and sisters had. We lived communally, in separate "dorms", which were really single rooms converted into sleeping quarters at night. Everyone would bring out their sleeping gear at night (which was often filthy blankets or sleeping bags) and spread them out on the floor. Plumbing, whatever there was, was atrocious. The septic systems were not sufficient and the toilets wouldn't flush and the showers wouldn't drain. Therefore, we resorted to using "honey buckets"...defecating in buckets and burying them on the property when they were full. When taking a shower, you either scooped out the water or stood in the filthy water from the last people who had showered. This was particularly nasty on Sundays, because everyone was required to go to services. The field crews would come in from Bakersfield late on Saturday night after working all day, sleep for a few hours and then get up to go to services before heading back to Bakersfield. This meant that up to a hundred people would be using the buckets and showers before going to services. None of the singles had any privacy (nor was it encouraged) and almost no personal belongings. There was no way to acquire even the most basic necessities, since we were not allowed to keep any of the money we made at our jobs, and had to put it on the "Ask Toni" to request money for even the most personal items. Funny how we could not keep any of our money, even money that was sent by our families, yet Tonee always claimed he could live as well as he did because he used money he had made from his own business ventures. Definitely a double standard.

Tony and Sue conveyed to the congregation, in the early days that time was very short (about 3 years), and we all must gut it out in this abject poverty until:

#1 We became spiritual giants just like T & S, and would not succumb to the worldly temptations that creature comforts offered.

#2 Until we prayed loud and hard enough to keep the devil from sabatoging the finances, plumbing, vehicles, etc., etc. Well, guess who the devils were!

#3 Whatever reason Tony and Sue wanted to invent at the time, according to the bible of Tony & Sue.

And besides, heard Tony say that he had to have the nice clothes and home, etc. as a front, so as to lead souls and finances in from potential peers that he was involved with in the entertainment industry. Talk about playing both ends against the middle! Tony Alamo, what a piece of work! Puke!

I talked with another person who lives in Florida and he mentioned Les Wood lives there too and does roofing jobs. He also told me that he (Les Wood) communicates often with Tony Alamo and is a big promoter of Tony Alamo's hell hole and sends people there and is, himself, trying to get back in. Sound familiar?

Approximately two and a half years ago when Les Wood called here to speak with Dave, I answered the phone and he wanted to let Dave know that Tony wanted to talk with him. Dave wanted nothing to do with Tony Alamo. When I told Les what Dave said, he started getting extremely excited and contentious and started yelling and raising his voice to me at which point I hung up on him.
