Interested in anyone having COME OUT of the Brethern or Meeting. Old fashioned type of worship done in silence until the spirit moves upon someone and then that person speaks. No musical instruments allowed. Services revolve around the breaking of the bread and special attention paid to "WHERE" such an event takes place.

Just like the baptist," just believe and do nothing else, you still get to heaven."
Baptist believe they are saved, which is insane since fatih is a life long commintment to God and following Gods rules.
What these cults do not relize is that faith is an action also. Real Faith is believing and doing for God... If you stop doing you stop loving God and following his golden rules. So then you are unsaved at this point.

Where do you get this stuff, there is a baptist chuch minutes from my house and I go because it is close and I have had nothing but good experiences there. They hug, they sing, they help others. Not all are the same you know just like people. The minister is a born again and has been for 25 years. He does much for the area he lives in. Do not judge lest you be judge.

Anon 69.242...I see you are still trashing the Quakers. You even continue to call them an American made religion even when you have been corrected.
You may not like us, but at least get our history correct. Quakerism began in England. George Fox began the Society of Friends in the 17th century to return the church to what he called "Primitive Christianity".
And, no, the Brethren are a seperate group. They also originated in England, but have no relation to Quakers.
Again, hate us if you will, but at least get our history right.
And to your question about the current political situation...Quakers see themselves as citizens of the Kingdom of God. We do not believe any political party can change our land nor hearts. Only the precious Light of Christ can do that. Vote for whom you want after much prayer...that is what this Quaker thinks.
And, as for your "accusations against Baptist brothers and sisters in Christ"...what the heck are you talking about? I have never even give a second thought about Baptists and neither has any other Quaker I know. In fact, if a Quaker did disparage Baptists (just as you have us), we would not be Quakers at all. Quakers do not slander people...that is part of our faith.
As for pastor/shephed nonsense. We are all ministers. Some Quaker meetings do have Pastors, however the original Quakers did not. So, what you have written is untrue.
One thing that Quakers value above all is honesty. It seems that you have very little of that as you continue to post false accusations on which you have been corrected again and again.
I would hope that you are just writing out of ignorance instead of just plain out lieing. And tell me, what has made you so angry toward Friends (another word for Quakers)? Have you been hurt by a Quaker? Have you ever been to a Quaker Meeting for worship? If you had, you would know that what you write is incorrect.
Your witness has been tarnished by your continual breaking of the commandment, "Thou shalt not bear false witness."
I will pray for you. May God's peace be in your heart and in your life.

One more thing...here is a Quaker meeting fairly close to where you are:
http://www.pym.org/pym_mms/wilmingtoncd.php
visit there...you will receive a warm welcome and someone will be more than willing to answer your questions about the Society of Friends.

Anon 69.242..you wrote: "thats the false religion of Quakerism ,an american made religion "
That is "trashing" and it is slander. You have done much worse on other sections of Factnet. Now, do you admit that your history is incorrect regarding Quakers or will you continue to promote inaccuracies? And remember, "Thous shalt not bear false witness."
By the way, we do have something in common...I see on another Factnet area that you are a union supporter. I am as well.
Peace!

and what kind of witness are you bearing ? are you living for Jesus Christ ? are you worshipping him in a congregation ? have you warned the lost about the wrath to come and theres a lord Jesus ?

Tell you what, Anon 69...you answer my questions, then I'll answer yours. Do you admit that you are wrong and have misrepresented the history of the Quakers?
Do you admit that you were wrong about Quaker pastors/ministers?
My witness is that of Jesus Christ. My witness is to live an honest and upright life. Do you?
I worship Jesus Christ every hour every minute and every second of every day by my life. I am a member of a Friends Meeting where we come together to worship Jesus Christ.
Have I warned the lost...Yes, but I must warn you...you know where liars go?

why such anger?

Only righteous anger here, Anon 62...just answer my questions if you can do so in an honest fashion. If not, well, I guess that says alot about you.
Do you think it is anger any time you confront "the lost about the wrath to come and theres (sic) a lord Jesus"? I suppose you would confront a homosexual or an adulterer as you have clearly indicated. How about someone who does not tell the truth.
I don't know what your Bible tells you but mine says that to tell a falsehood is a sin. Lieing is as much of a sin as homosexuality or adultery. You have been given point by point rebutals of your charges against Quakers yet you continue to post misinformation and continue to slander a Christian community about which you have little or no knowledge.

It is very difficult to not be offended when one questions and the other cannot say for sure what the tone was when the question was presented. There is so much animosity on the threads that I have visited. I do want to share a few things:
1) We are too imperfect and unskilled to judge one another. We are encouraged to shed light in love and gentleness.
2) Pastors and religious leaders are human, like the rest of us. We are ALL fallible, no matter what. That is why we must learn for ourselves and seek earnestly the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We seek to discern truth for ourselves. We share in fellowship to encourage each other and understand. We may still fail in doing so, but our failures are stepping stones to learning more, instead of being stumblingblocks.
3) The light we are given is what God will judge us against. The bottom line: faith, in the redemption that Jesus paid for our sins. For those who never "knew" Jesus as we have been taught, they, too, have the same grace that we are given. God searches each heart, not each church.
4) There is a new song out there now. I think Time McGraw sang it. It is about a man who chose to live in the now, as if he is living like there is no tomorrow. What Tim sang touched my soul: "I gave forgiveness..." Now, that is tough to do! But, it is what God gave to us. Can we give it? to those who hurt us? Only if our hearts have been truly transformed by love...by God...by the Holy Spirit...by Jesus. This is the transforming work of the Lord in our lives.
5) To lift each other up when the other is weak, to lessen the burden of the other person, to inspire one another until the end...this is our work to be done daily.
6) If life is too difficult to discern, to understand, to follow...for there are many winds of doctrine that confound...confuse...anger...destroy...divide us...let the Holy Spirit lead each one of us to the "fruits of the Spirit": joy, love, happiness, patience, mercy, kindness...and so on. We can all start there.
7) Seek the scriptures on our own. Let each verse speak to us and let us allow these words to plant seeds of wonderful change. Our growth is not for ourselves alone but is more for blessing one another. Our excellence is a gift to those who come across our path. Will you be a blessing to someone today?
I judge not, lest I be judged. I only seek to share in love. May a great blessing be given to each one of us at this moment and forever! Take care, everyone.

I have in-laws that attend a Brethren church. VERY conservative - the women aren't allowed to speak during the service, etc. etc. If someone from one congregation wants to attend a serice in another city, they need to bring a letter with them introducing them and okaying it. Our discussions with this in-law are very tiring; there is no room for discussion. He speaks, we listen. You either agree with him or you're wrong, cased closed. And don't even begin to discuss "once saved, always saved" unless that is your belief. I've been in a legalistic "religious organization", and once was enough for me.
