Has anyone ever heard anything about the Omega Foundation as being a cult. The are an organization based on a ranch just outside of Helena, Montana. My daughter is involved and from her emails to me, I suspect she is being subjected to "mind control" The founder, a woman named Renee Anderson, proclaims to be a hypnotherapist and they believe in a "divine spirit" by the name of Enoch, who delivers life messages to them through a channeler. My daughter was invited to go there under the guise of one month of training to learn to write articles for their website, she is now leaving her husband and wanting to remain there "to learn and grow" I am terrified for her, because I know first hand how these people operate. I was involved in a religious cult myself, many years ago and it took me 7 years to leave. Your input would be appreciated.

marcia -
i went for a job interview at an omega foundation center (not in montana though). i think you are right to be wary, especially for 'live on campus' participants. omega does have a tremendous 'draw,' as they get many high power, well known speakers and participants there. i went for one of their few live off-site positions. but i found the place 'spooky,' and never followed up. i wondered 'why' it was so far off the main drag, in the middle of nowhere, hard to get to, etc..... (this is the one in my area). i hope you get more responses. i did not hear about any 'one' founder or leader on my visit. i was told that it was non-profit - but at the same time, had become a mulimillion dollar enterprise (the two don't really jive). you can access thier website and information about workshops (at least for the NY omega). one thing that 'worried' me is that 'live on campus' participants had to attend 'mandated' personal growth meetings daily. not cool. my best to you and your daughter.

A person I work with went to their workshop, they focused on Women Empowerment. She was excited about it and had only good things to say. It appears to be just a place to hold all types of workshops for life improvement.
