Cult Survivors Tell Horrific Tales of Life With David Koresh

April 15 — Nearly 10 years to the day that the Branch Davidian compound near Waco, Texas, went up in flames — killing 75 people, including 25 children — ABCNEWS' Charles Gibson interviews seven children who escaped the horror in an hourlong report on this week's Primetime Thursday, airing at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.

Brought together for the first time, they share stories of the bizarre world created by cult leader David Koresh and discuss living with the realization that their parents were willing to abandon them to follow Koresh to their graves. In addition, these survivors confront the former FBI agent who was in charge of the failed negotiations with Koresh — the first time someone involved in the siege has agreed to meet with them face to face.

Primetime will also air never-before-seen footage of the children's disturbing therapy sessions from 1993, which demonstrate the eerie effectiveness of Koresh's brainwashing techniques.

Of course the few remaining diehard Davidians, which numbered five at a recent religious service, are still loyal to their selective memory of David Koresh and events at Waco.

But why do some journalists persist in groundless anti-government conspiracy

. . .maybe it's because of all the chances that the BATF had to arrest Koresh away from home . . ?

. . .maybe it's because the video shot of the initial assault shows no gunfire from the building until over 5 minutes after the BATF is shown firing into the building . . ?

Don't let your bigotry against a "cult" blind you to the available evidence. Given the choice between being molested and being machinegunned, I know which most kids would pick.

I realize this is an old thread, but I wanted to respond anyhow. Perhaps the government was overzealous and reacted badly to the situation. Perhaps they acted in the manner they did because they realized, from outside info, that people were being mistreated, young girls were being led to bed by a nut job. I really don't know for I was not there. I do feel bad for all those who died needlesly. I hope and pray they all; yes even koresh;knew Jesus as Lord and Savior.
I just looked up and saw your last line to your post. I'm sorry I am saying this, but you're an idiot! "Given the choice between being molested and being machinegunned, I know which most kids would pick." Have you ever been molested? I have ok? I do believe at the time I would have rather been "machinegunned". It is a very humiliating experience my friend.
