Last night as I was flipping through the channels I came across Robert Tilton, and his wife. Made me sick. It was so obvious, what he is about. His wife can't even sing...they kept rubbing each other and saying Honey this and Honey that. He talked about his book How to Be Rich. then the informercial came on to give it away free...come on...I don't believe that. I guess those of us who have loved ones in cults, really bristle up when we can see easily the signs of supposedly religious leaders bilking the masses. PLEASE, don't give money to this man! Give your prayers to God, give your money to the needy, or to your church, but don't finance this man's lifestyle. I bet he lives a very luxurious life, and really doesn't care about those he SAYS he prays for.

Couldn't tell you if Robert Tilton is a fake or not, when it comes to his faith. Not my place to judge him, either. However, the ABC Prime Time (or was it 20/20) investigation on him stands on its own as a relevant piece of journalism.

The shows he is currently running on BET date from 1998. I suspect BET will sell air time to anyone with the money to buy it. He is on that channel an awful lot, usually in the middle of the night.

I am always wary of sending money to "prosperity" preachers. Feed the poor first, help the sick, send money to missionaries, or evangelists, or even those TV preachers who are steadfast in the Word of God. But beware of charlatans, for they are out there.

Jeep, Have you ever seen the movie "Jesus of Montreal"?

There is an absolutely wonderful scene in that movie that is an allusion to Jesus driving the moneychangers from the temple.

I would recommend that film to anyone, it's a Canadian film from the 80s -- beautiful and moving.

Humor me if you will jeep, I've seen the video of Tilton's gas-o-rama and I'm glad we can only hear or in this case read about the functionality of the disfuntional otherwise. BTW I had a good friend who worked for Tilton and had his marriage ruined by this genius. I once produced a Christian conference and he complained about the limo we sent to pick him up in.

Robert Tilton's ministry changed my life forever! He is a man of God and it took me a while to understand that but he has anointed and blessed my life. You have to have an open spirit and understand the how Heaven and Earth are supposed connect according to the Lord's Prayer.

I'm starting my own business this year thanks to those letters he sent me telling me I can recieve every blessing God has for my life.

I made a $1000 vow which I comfortable paid while working through a temp service as a receptionist, being blessed by God the whole while.

First I learned how to not trust in my money. I learned to trust in God. I dont lament over that $1000 I planted into Tilton's Ministry because money keeps coming. I lament over my past sins--But thank God for the Blood!

When I made my first payment on the vow, I recieved an initial miracle. A 14,000.00 debt was immediately paid off my an enemy.

I ignored his letters for a while and found myself is a financial bind. God spoke to me about the vow I made to HIM through Tilton's ministry. I got back to paying and went form temp to hire, got a renovated apartment in one day.

Poverty is a curse and manifest in many ways. Lack of decent clothing, lack of resources to be professional.

He sent me a tape a sermon with some Great Tips on success. But he said you have to keep correcting and correcting. I told myself, I'm paying good money for this advice--"PUT IT TO WORK"

I've been correcting. Being more professional in my wardrobe. It's a process. Dressing for success. Shedding the effects of poverty off my phyiscal realm. Excercising and eating healthier.

Another point Tilton gave in the sermon was to KNOW MORE. I've been collecting information that will help me. The kind of business I want to start, I've been collecting information--especially from the Bible.

Lastly, I really grasped the concept of "Sowing and Reaping." Now outside of the stigma, Pastor Tilton is a wealthy man so his ministry finacially fertile ground. Who in their right mind would plant a seed in a "prosperity" prophet who was poor?

He is a great marketer and I'm influenced by his marketing strategy and plan to use those very same anointing in my business.

I respect Pastor Tilton and I encourage everyone on this site to give his ministry a closer evaluation.

I have always wondered...about that "seed-faith" thing -- if it works so well, why do those preachers like "Brother Bob" have to continually ask for money? That man is evil. I feel compelled to change channels at the very sight of him flapping that mouth of his. The amazing thing is that there are a few things Tilton says that can help people and a few people are actually helped. Too bad he never learned the priorities of family above ministry, and seeking God above seeking things and Mt 6:1-33.

What potential there could have been and yet what failure of not using and harnessing that potential to Jesus in the important areas.

If you "rightly divide the word" the Bible you can eat the chicken and spit out the bones, and get some nutrition.

There is one thing that anyone can do and that is make a commitment, pledge to God to a good steward ministry of good results and God will supply you with seed to give to that good stewardship Godly results ministry, and supply your needs also.

The "key" is that you pledge only to sow into good ground, good stewarship ministries that see good results of souls and much Godly fruit.
Too many people have given to bad steward status seeking bad spenders with small, no or bad fruit.
