Well, I heard that Res-life was having an all-church meeting tonight regarding what should be done with the building, etc.. in preparation for the "split". When I got to the church, there was a fairly large number of cars in the parking lot. When I arrived at the main entrance, the doors had signs posted up which read, in big bold letters "MEMBERS ONLY MEETING". Standing outside the door was an "usher" dutifully guarding the doors, with a clipboard containing a list of names. Myself and others were told because our names weren't on the list we could not be allowed inside. I asked if there was things going on in the meeting which the church didn't want anyone to know about. The usher paused for a minute, and then stated that the church leadership needed to ensure that people were not coming into their meeting asking "innapropriate" questions. The usher then got a little defensive, insisting the church had nothing to hide.

Where did all the money go???

Somehow it seems there should be something for those who need counceling.... post cc stress syndrome.

Does RLA own the east campus?

Turn it into a retreat center for people who have been abused by cc and other cults! Or use the funds the prop can generate to facilitate such efforts,
Is there not a need?

what about healing?
Should that just be left up tp bd and the other little men
that use to lead us? Did it all belong to them?

Ther are responcible orginizations out there that never had anything to do w cc.

THIS COULD BE ONE LAST CHANCE FOR PEOPLE TO SPEAK UP!

of course I hope its not just those who still have there heads stuch up the cc rear end.... not that anyone does.
do they?

Members only, huh? Sounds like old times at cc. I guess it's easy to do stuff like that when you saw that kind of behavior modeled and approved of for years.

What has been happening at RLA of late that required such a meeting?
Any news of what the outcome of this meeting was?

saylarry - apparently they couldn't retain members who weren't ex-Chapel people. They interviewed or surveyed 75 people who had joined and left over the past couple of years, and found that the usual reason for leaving was discovery of the connection with Community Chapel. This is according to postings on the CCG board - I have no personal contact with anybody at RLA. I've been wondering about the outcome of the meeting myself. So far I haven't heard anything.

So, we have the end of an era I'd say. That east campus has seen lotsa churchy history in the last 35+ years.
I have two former room mates from Chapel dorm days who were going to RLA the last time I visited them in Dec05. The subject of church problems wasn't mentioned at all.
We were all vintage CC guys from the mid 70's. So were they gonna go now? Last I heard many of the Chapel folk migrated to Joe Parker's church in FW.
I just recalled too, they have that nice lodge at Lake Wenatchee - spent 10 years skiing and hiking there. I suppose that will go on the market if it hasn't already.
