Revisiting the Church of Bible Understanding thread

Hi,
I am a new member here. I was led to this sight while searching about the Church of Bible Understanding (Once called the Forever Family). I am originally from Pittsburgh and was a member of this cult from 1975-1978. However it continued to have a grasp on me for more than seven years after I left it. If anyone out there wants to talk about this group, feel free to respond. I have been free from its clutches now for twenty years - God is a good God. Many people still suffer the effects of this group whether they are still in it (very few members remain) or if they are out. Despite their small numbers they have made Stewart Traill very rich, and they are now a very agressive, even violent, cult!

That is completley untrue! Memebers have COBU have become virtual recluses. The only way to get a hold of any of them is to rejoin. My last personal contact with them was in 1998 when I worked for Olde Good Things, and while they are definatley many things violent is not one of them.I'm not sure how many know this, but his wife was seriously injured in a very mysterious car accident down in the Caribbean Islands. The last that I heard she has the mental capacity of a 5 year old while her "husband" spends most of his time down in Florida with his 30 year "sister helpers". Sick, sick, sick.

I need anyones help on here please! My boyfreids parents are sellingthier home and belongings and moving into the chucrh because Stewart has told them to. PLEASE HELP. How do I stop this? I have printed many articles and I am thinking of mailing it to his parents, but I am afraid they will not read it. No one can talk to them if you do not believe in this church. His parents have taken the youngest son (25 years old) and they have brainwashed him as well. His parents have been in and out of this cult since they were 20 and they are now in their 40-50's. This has been said is the worst they have ever been with being in this church. Stewart is a monster and needs to be stopped. I need anyones help on what to do, please!
