I was forced to attend a cult in Butler, Pennsylvania pretty much my entire childhood. I was taught, from a very young age, that if I left this church (cult) I would die of cancer. I also attended the church school in which my punishments included verbal, mental,& physical abuse, such as beatings and being told that I was a 0 and would never amount to anything. I was taught to "Be prepared to take a bullet" for my Preacher. They even had guards with guns during every church service. The Preacher himself had body guards that would protect him no matter what.He ran this Church (cult) for 20 yrs . he just recently gave up his position to his son in law, because he was caught drinking whiskey, reading Pornography (which he says he does, so the Holy Ghost will pierce his heart), doing drugs, and using the tithes and offerings for his own enjoyment. This is not the fist cult that the Preacher had. He has ruined 1,000 of lives throughout the yrs. I suffer from PTSD, anxiety depression disorder, and bi-polar2 all of which are caused by this cult leader and the tramatic events I suffered there.Although, the Preacher is no longer preaching there, he is still a key role in making decisions, and running the church .I would like to file a law suit for all of my pain and suffering. If anyone knows of any good lawyers that would handle my case, please, leave me a message.

Regarding filing a law suit for pain and suffering. Is this possible? Because I have suffered terrible things and unjustices thanks to a cult in my country.
I still have a loved one involved. Like Brainwashed. But. I think the government has to do something, and it will be done when a group of victims ask them to do so. It is harm for society, it must be stoped.

Unfortunately, anybody can call themselves "Baptist" - but not be associated with any other Baptists in any way. It appears that the church you were part of is a definite cult, and it's good that you are out of it. You may need some kind of counselling, however.
