Hey.

Awful quiet in here.
Wonderin' where all the zealous ones are.

So anyway, here's my thoughts on the subject.

I don't care much for religion.

Too many phonies, too much form and too little substance.

So, when a friend asked me 28 years ago this November,
if I would like to receive Jesus as my personal Savior,
I said, sure, why not?, I mean, what can it hurt?
I'd seen all the neon Jesus Saves and Keeps mission signs.
So, hey, why not? I sure hadn't found the meaning of life
by reading Hermann Hesse, or smokin pot.

Well, there was something very special that happened then.
When I realized that Jesus THE Christ not only existed 2,000 years ago,
but that He is very real TODAY, and actually,
could pop into this room at any given moment if he wanted,
I was confronted with the REALITY of Jesus THE Christ.
....and although He hasn't dropped in on me
physically,
He has revealed Himself to me in the Spirit
on a number of very special occasions.

That is where we need to be brothers and sisters.
Seeking hard after Jesus.
Not bickering with one another, about divine healing,
or who's deeper.
Those of us from Faith Assembly and/or outreaches,
have all the teaching anyone could need in a lifetime,
but the question is:
.... are we following hard after Jesus?
....have we lost our first love, through religious exercises?
... have we forgotten that Jesus loved us and saved us while yet in our sins?
... can we not meet our own brothers and sisters wherever they are at
without condemnation or condescension?
.. can we love others as Jesus loves us?
... do we KNOW God, or do we know ABOUT God?

If we have met God, and know Him, I tend to believe that
there isn't any room for personal pride in His presence.

In His presence IS fulness of joy.

Where then is there room for anything else?

Who would want anything else?

If Sister Suzy is mssing it by a million miles,
and I am abiding in Him, I see nothing but compassion
and love for her.
Praying even for those who oppose themselves.

That is the key, brothers and sisters.
Abiding in Christ.

Not in our own knowledge or wisdom,
but submitting ourselves unto Him,
and looking to Him, the author, AND the finisher of our faith.

God bless.

Hombre.
