I've been think about a survey about our experiences. Something that may later be able to be used in an academic paper. Do you think it is warranted? The ideas came about from reading the Roy McCollum leaving thread.
Probably questions along the lines of
What Group were you involved in?
i) Maranatha
ii) MSI
iii)EN
iv) A combination. Explain.......
For How long?
In what country?........
What exact church? ........(optional)
Were friends/family concerned that you were becoming involved in a cult. or cult like group?
i) not that I am aware
ii) they expressed some concerns at the time
iii) they strongly expresed concern, trying to persuade me to leave
iv) They expressed their concerns after I have left the group
MCM has been accussed of being a cult.
i) strongly agree
ii) agree to some extent, (that they used cult like practices)
iii)disagree
iv) strongly disagree
This is just a quick idea. Needs to be thought out thoroughly, have more questions but not too long.
Dust has already expressed some interest. Feel free to get involved or just say if u think it is necessary. Don't want my real email being spammed so will have to make a new one in the next couple of days, if you know Tikie, and he is welcome to share my home email with those he trusts.
