I didn't want to put this on the other threads and distract from the conversations occuring there. However, the dancing Nun picture (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9050471/) just cracks me up.

Well, after reading the story, Anne, I'm afraid that a lot of people, including her mother superior, thought it was nun too funny.

Arrgghhh...what did we do to deserve this pun-ishment? In my book nun puns are on the same par with cow puns.

Why is that? I think they are different: the one is a hard habit to break and the other udderly ridiculous....

Ha Ha... I enjoyed that. In my old EN church, they had a valentines day dance each year. Only married or engaged couples could go. If you were courting, you couldn't go... no dancing until leaders gave their permission. Even then, I am sure everyone was trying to dance in whatever way was deemed acceptable - mostly up and down I would guess. When I first came to the church, I would dance a little while worshipping and I was corrected - no hip motion allowed. I am sure I would have been in trouble if I put my legs around a guy like this nun did. I guess she did get caught up in the moment. Big bad sin... poor chick. Bless he fun loving heart.

My wife and I got married in a Baptist church so, as a result, we could not have any dancing. The best I could figure was that they believed dancing stimulated "the lust of the flesh"--so, for youth groups, they didn't have dances, but hay rides! (if you've never been on a hay ride....)

Anyhoo, on the question of "Whether Christians can dance?" I say, "Some can, some can't". It just so happens I can't. http://www.factnet.org/discus/clipart/angry.gif
