Did anyone else hear on the Today Show about this bozo claiming he is Christ reincarnated, from the second coming? He is a preacher at "Growing in Grace" church. He is from Puerto Rico. Here are his quotes from the morning news interview:

<!-quote-!>quote:
Prayer is not helpful. Prayer is a waste of time, all the other preacher's are just lying.<!-/quote-!>

<!-quote-!>quote:
sin no longer exists.<!-/quote-!>

<!-quote-!>quote:
satan is a hollywood character, he is not real.<!-/quote-!>

When asked if this is a cult, he said...

<!-quote-!>quote:
If this is a cult, it's the best cult I have ever seen, it's a nice cult. I'm proud to be leading a cult like this, b/c I'm teaching the truth."<!-/quote-!>

His last name is Miranda, (I think). He has been given cars and estate(s) in gated communities by his followers, and he has many.
Makes me think of the scripture warning that says, "Many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many.
SAD.
Paul's Second letter to the Thessalonians has prepared us for this.
3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Yes, Dust.
I forgot to post my scripture reference in my quote above. It is from Matt. 24:5-"Many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many."
This one says that MANY will come saying they are Christ.
I believe the scriptures you posted above are talking about the anti-Christ, and I believe we won't know who that is, for the ones who are saved will be raptured up before he is revealed.
As I watched the news this morning, I got a glimpse of what it will be like when all of the people who choose the mark of the beast during the tribulation time will be worshipping this person who claims to be Christ. You should have seen this man on t.v. and all of his followers. He had coool sunglasses on, walked around with such an arrogance about him, yet followers had posters of "Jesus on one side, and this bozo on the other," trying to convince others that Christ has returned.

You know somebody should tell that dude and should have told David Koresh that he can't be Jesus reincarnated because of one word. RESURRRRECTION! Jesus has a body already dude.
Hello? all the apostles (except for John) went to the four corners of the world and suffered horrible deaths preaching the resurrection when they could have walked away and denied it and saved their skin. That is the greatest proof Jesus is who he says he is. Your not going to get all the apostles allowing themselves (over decades) to be butchered over a lie. They believed in the resurrection, the guy should claim to be somebody else maybe a reincarnated space alien? He says prayer is a waist of time? Translation: God does not listen to him LOL.

Yeah!
It really cracked me up to watch him walk around in his expensive dark sunglasses, driving a sports car (that was given as an "offering" and seeing his fancy gated community home..."
Jesus didn't even have a place to lay His head. Get a clue, dude.
