This movie is coming out in theaters today, 10/13/06. It is a story about Esther. I was just wondering if any of you are planning to see it. I will try to go perhaps next week. It looks like it will be a great movie.

Oops. It is called ONE Night With the King, not A night.
If anyone decides to go see it at the movies, please post reviews and comments afterwards. I'm anticipating it to be a good one. I just love the story of Esther.

I saw the movie tonight - opening night, Oct. 13th.
I was wondering if anyone was going to post anything about it.
Well, I thought it was a REALLY GOOD, REALLY ANOINTED film, and I had a hard time not crying --- I was very moved emotionally by the storyline, and by some of the themes at play.
It really is a movie of faith that should be reported. I went to see the 7:00pm showing on opening night, and the movie theater was at least 90% full, in the BIG #1 theater up front (this is in a major box office that has 24 screens, and we were in the largest screen, #1).
It got really good reviews...Jonathan, You almost cried. I'm excited about thathttp://www.factnet.org/discus/clipart/wink.gif
This means I need to bring a box of kleenex and my husband two boxes.

Yeah, well, the messages this movie speaks is well, I should have brought my journal. From beginning to end, this one is REALLY THAT GOOD.
Well that will be a DVD worth buying. The funny thing...I'm reading the bible in a year program on Crosswalk....Today started Esther...I love this story. I did skip a few books this year...like Nehemiah.
I'm still lost reading the prophets...and this is my 3rd year in a row..

Dust,
You should find out if "One Night with the King" is playing in your area (I'm sure it is, they're in almost 1000 theaters across the U.S.), and go see it.
Also, they used a lot of Scriptures in the script, without saying its from the Bible. This is truly an anointed piece, and its so true. http://www.factnet.org/discus/clipart/happy.gif

krems,
Why didn't you cry? It is manly to cry. Every time I see a river runs through it I cry at the end. Not ashamed. Good for the soul.

Thanks, Jb.
(and dust) Dust, go see it on the big screen, AND when it comes out on DVD, buy it. hehe
I will go to a matinee when my children are at school.hehehehe I'll see if a friend wants to go, if not, it will be me and a big thing of popcorn.
Glad you liked it, JB. I watched the reviews on TBN as it premiered the night before it opened. It sold out here last night. I had to get my parents tickets for a day in advance.
Flo, When I saw that Krems posted, "I almost cried" well for him, that's huge..that's like crying buckets. And, I'm not posting a smiley here..if you get it, you get it.

I can't do it...I don't have the discipline.

Didn't know about the movie. Will have to check it out. Of course, with a baby in the house, we may have to wait for Netflix. We don't get out much these days for movies.

Freedom,
don't know how old the baby is, but bring bottles, diapers, and blankets and go for it.

Thanks for advice. Did you go with your kids? She's 8 months. My partner went to a "mother's day out" matinee when she was younger during the week. It went okay. Maybe we can go on a weekend day. She's decided that 7pm is her bedtime and if we miss her "window" at night we are in so much trouble. Takes forever to get her down. We are a bit nervous though because she really LOVES to watch TV and the movie screen. She can't take her eyes off it when it's on. Not sure it's the best thing for her. So far, we try to limit it to Baby Einstein at home.

I rarely took them when they were babies, but i take them a lot now. 8 & 9.
I find that trying to catch a matinee is a little easier (especially if it's naptime, they just sleep on you.) at night, if you can't find a sitter, it would probably be o.k. if she is fed, warm, clean, etc.
Have fun at the festival. saw something on another post.hope the weather is as nice as it is here. son has a football game later today. i pray it stays 'cool' (better, j2?) for the game.

Flo:
My eyes watered up, but I am not one to cry and bawl.
Wisedove: I think most of the people who saw it last night here in Okla. City at the Quail AMC Cinema, where I went, had advanced tickets. I got mine well in advance, and while it did not sell out, I think 95% of the theater was packed.
If your kids are 8 or 9, they may get the movie (understand it), or they may not. When I was in the restroom after the movie, I heard a father speaking to his young son, who was probably age 7, asking if the son understood the movie, and the 7-year-old did not.

i'm praying that my father in law will go see it. today, he overheard my dad and i talking, and my dad, being the jokster that he is, said "it's about Elvis." I, of course, set him straight. When I said it's about Esther, from the Bible, my father-in-law said "who's Esther."
Why do I still get shocked by so many people's lack of Bible knowledge gets me.
I might take my children. Thanks for the heads-up. I think I will enjoy it better alone or with my husband or other adult friend.
I have heard many people, mostly men, actually, say they teared up. Perhaps you men need a good cry. go ahead. let it all out...hehehehttp://www.factnet.org/discus/clipart/smile.gif
