Hello, & nice to communicate here. It is my understanding that this meeting in February in Baltimore may result in the branch ministries/affiliates leaving the GGWO family.
Can anyone explain to me the situation? Is it like any of these scenarios ? ?:
1)The elders are trying to get Carl out & the branches want him to stay in with old doctrine.
or
2)The elders & Carl are opposed by the branches, & the branches call for them
to repent & change doctrine. (and the branches welcome new doctrine)
or
3)The branches are against "the elders" but will still adhere to Carl's doctrine after he is
no longer the leader in Baltimore.
I stress this, in Rome both Baltimore & Carl are highly regarded as far as we can tell. Some of what is considered old teachings has been taught within the last year.
Our leadership did mention possibly leaving Baltimore, but this was just in the last few weeks, & I believe great detail was not discussed.
Pst. Love was here this weekend for the "Frozen Chosen."
We do believe that our local assembly attendees appear to be in the dark about the greater workings. I would think if they knew of the Carl Stevens website & FactNet most would be in GREAT SHOCK.
Does anyone know who is one who's side ?
Thank you again,

Search,
"Door #2" SEEMS to be the prevailing directon, but many cards are being held close to the vest. The last thing most people will hear in any GGWO church is a specifically detailed accounting of what has really been happening for the last few years because of doctrines like "covering God's anointed" and "rebound." Such an event in any affiliated ministry (or even "home base") would be a sure sign of repentance and revival. Old habits die hard, even for those who want to move forward.

Search,
They love themselves more than anything else. Tell your assembly and your attendees about www.carlstevens.org (http://www.carlstevens.org) and www.factnet.org (http://www.factnet.org). Let them see what is going on, they can decide for themselves. And then, get out of there before these so called 'men of God' eat you alive.

Intentions of the affiliates vary according to the beliefs or degree of loyalty of their pastors to Stevens and Baltimore.
There are as many variations as there are affiliates.
What causes concern is that many of those affiliate pastors who disagree with the doctrine, who are aware of the wrong-doing, who have first-hand knowledge of the corrupt leadership have FAILED to stand up and act according to Biblical standards - for years.
Why? What would compel Godly men to turn a blind eye to on-going sin?
Lucky for them, they have another opportunity to do the right thing. An opportunity to make things right and act with integrity. If they do not, then they should be held accountable for their inaction by their congregants.
Keep asking questions. Keep looking for truth.

Search,
Most (howbeit not necassarily all) of the posters here are on God's side. And, as Jesus said, "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." Most here want to see truth come out. Just because some truth happens to be negative does not make it not truth. And most on here are or want to be free, but they want others to be free too.
My main concern is that in the revealing of truth we do not stoop to CHS and CHS clone tactics of cursing and berating.
God bless,
Ralph

Ralph & Others -
Your concern in the approach to disseminating the truth is valid.
Facts are of a great necessity.
Our interactions with leadership are firsthand, though seemingly not of a massive magnitude, some of these issues are very telling in pattern & doctrinal position.
A question to ask –
“What may seem like a small matter, -Is that matter really small in biblical terms & to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
THE MEETING:
I think the FEB. meeting is not a rumor because we heard about it here before ever discovering the “Carl” website or “FactNet.”
Unfortunately we were not at the service when the possible “break off” was spoken of. We trust the information that the “break off” was talked about & the FEB Meeting.
Input welcomed,
Thanks for everyone’s prayers,

I have heard the following info from current branch pastors involved. The meeting was set up through the Tacoma church. Initially it was to discuss more than doctrinal issues and Paul Stevens and Mark Schollaert were invited to come. Initially there was talk of outside mediation. Outside mediation was nixed by the elders. Instead a qualified mediation person from within the Tacoma church is mediating. Some of the elders refused to even attend if certain other criteria was not met. As it stands as of a week ago (and believe me, it probably has changed again since then! and I am sure some GG loyalist will get on here and say I don't have my facts correct and that would be true becuz the facts are always changing by the players and there is always a hundred different versions of the facts because of a lack of openness and honesty in dealing with GGBaltimore.) But as of last week about 50 pastors are attending a meeting at Sandy Cove Conference Center on Feb 1-4. They will be dealing with doctrinal issues only, the elders have all agreed to attend. Paul and Mark were disinvited. There will be a document drawn up at this conference declaring the false teachings and why. The affiliates AND the elders will sign... if the elders refuse than a disaffiliation process will begin.

Search4 - Well said, there are no small things with our Lord, especially if they harm one of "His."
Jeannie - do you wonder, as I do, how any branch can produce and unbiased mediator? I am sure that your husband would agree that even us "outies," even ones who have been out for years, could not be unbiased. They really need a panel, cross denominational, with no agenda except to keep preaching about God and His kingdon free from false doctrine, heresies and improper/inconsistant application.

I stressed this very issue with a current affiliate; outside mediation means OUTSIDE mediation, no matter how good guy is, Tom Powell is his pastor. And yes, a panel without agenda is the best option. But I guess that only happens with healthy churches in crisis, not cults..lol.
BTW Ralph, My husband was asked by a couple of current branch pastors to request to attend also. He wrote Tacoma, no reply back and when one of the affiliate pastors addressed Tacoma for their lack of response, then an email was forthcoming. Reply: sorry this is for CURRENT pastors only. I guess they don't want anyone there that is willing to speak the truth about the last year and half.

Well, after all, aren't we all "contaminated?" *lol*
But Steve would certainly be one of teh best to go. I would vote for him.
Still want to do coffee with him.
