In Christ we are one Body. I refuse to submit to what things appear to be here. The Body is a spiritual reality. It is not a matter of our faith, but of God's design. He'll give you your faith if you focus on Him. Faith is His instrument, not yours. It's meant to serve his ends in His timing. He'll give you what you're meant to have today. He has tomorrow in hand. Trust Him to be Who He has said He is. Our relations to each other are meant to be in Him. We're not going to find artificial oneness. The oneness is complete and perfect in Him.
'I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch, and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you. By this is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.' John 15:5-9
By the way; I have never once questioned the salvation of anyone posting on this message board. And I don't think the above passage has to do with eternal destination, but with us having the quality of life and love found in the Son. I plead with you all to seek to be immersed in His love, and to bear it as fruit toward one another. This is not schmaltz, and it's not compromise of what I or any of you believe. This isn't 'I'm OK, you're OK.' All of our OKness is in Christ, and we are one in Him because He has made it so.

Thought this deserved a "bump" up as we try to "magnify the Lord" together. Amen, Bob!

"Magnify the Lord with me
Blessed Lamb of Calvary.
For His love so full and free,
Magnify the lord with me.
"O, Magnify the Lord with me
Blessed Lamb of Calvary.
Jesus gives us liberty,
So, magnify the Lord with me."
Bob - thought this deserved a "bump" adn a song.

Hebrews 12:10b
”God's discipline is always right and good for us because it means we will share in his holiness” NLT
The definition of a soldier according to Webster’s Dictionary is one who is a skilled warrior, follower or worker, one who continues to push forward against the odds.
Jesus himself marveled at a soldier. He stated that he had not seen such great faith anywhere in Israel as that exhibited by a Roman Centurion. As you read the account in Matthew (8:5-13), you notice that not only did the soldier get what he petitioned the Lord for, but Jesus also stated that many (people of faith) would come from all parts of the world and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
What did the soldier possess that moved Jesus so? He possessed faith and discipline. We are told that it is impossible to please God without faith, and that He gave everyone of us a measure of faith. Isn’t God so wonderful, He gave us all the same ability as the soldier who moved Jesus.
No soldier knows the importance of faith and discipline better than an “Airborne Soldier”. An Airborne soldier must have faith that his parachute will open when he jumps out of an aircraft 1200 feet above the ground. There are several steps that must occur for a successful jump out of the airplane. These steps are referred to as jump commands. An Airborne soldier must obey 7 commands to properly execute a safe jump. A person in charge of the jump, called a Jumpmaster, gives these commands. Following are seven jump commands and I have added practical statements of faith that can be applied to our daily walk with God, after each command.
1. GET READY: I will be physically, mentally, and spiritually ready before my God. (Matt 24:44)
2. STAND UP: I will be a living example of all that I say and do. (Eph
6:13-14)
3. HOOK UP: I acknowledge God as my source and provider. (2 Cor 9:8; 1 Cor
8:6)
4. CHECK STATIC LINE: I will submit my attitudes and relationships with others and walk as the Word directs. ( 2 Tim 3:16-17)
5. SOUND OFF FOR EQUIPMENT CHECK: I will share my faith in God with others by word and deed. (Col 3:17; James 1:22-25)
6. STAND IN THE DOOR: With my belief in God, I will bravely face every test life brings me. (1Cor 10:13)
7. GO: I will be firm in my resolutions and serve God, as He would expect me to. (Matt 28:18-20)
Prayer: Father, help me to take the leap of faith today. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!

Kathleen,
You sparked my memory. A few comments and changes to the sequence:
A note of interest:
The jumpers are given a ten minute warning before this sequence (it usually woke me up and we put on our helmets).
Before the command "sound off for equipment check" the command is given "Check equipment" (the trooopers check their equip. and then reply "OK" all the way up the stick and the stick leader looks at the Jumpmaster and says "all ok Jumpmaster").
The command used to be "stand in the door" this changed a few years ago. We are given a 30 second warning then the jumpmaster commands "stand by...green light...go"
I always loved standing in the door and feeling the breeze in my face.
Note of interest:
We almost ALWAYS jumped from 800 feet with full combat equipment in the cover of darkness. 1200 was at airborne school for training purposes.
