Why in the world would you compare ggwo to calvary chapel? CC is a wonderful place and is nothing like ggwo. I think the only comparison you can make is that the teaching is very deep, thorough, and challenges you to go deeper with God. The pastor there is very clear that there is to be no pastor worship and I think we ggwo'ers make him a bit nervous (for good reason). In one sense I would like people who are looking for a new church to know about the good teaching at calvary, however, at the same time I hope the crazies don't do anything to hurt this very humble church that has no desire to "grow" by taking ggwo's exodus. Please treat this church with the respect it deserves.

I asked this only because I stumbled on a post on another board the other day. Someone was calling CC a cult and this lady was defending it, claiming she knew a real cult when she saw it because she had been a member of GGWO. she was from not from Baltimore nor Newark which is what caught my attention. No...people leaving are not starting CC churches...Calvary Chapel is a simple church with very excellent teaching...at least in Baltimore...I cannot speak for other cities....I think people are drawn to this church after feeling quite "starved" from the teaching at GGWO (at least the teaching of the last few years). I have not attended GGWO for about 6 months. I recently stopped in to pick up a friend who was there. As I walked through, people were greeting me as if they just saw me yesterday. NONE of them knew I hadn't been there in months. They were surprised when I said I was no longer attending. 64 I have no idea what you are talking about unless you followed me everywhere. You haven't a clue under the sun what I have been through nor is it important. Everything in our lives is ordained by God.

If you are speaking of Pr. Robinson, he has always been kind to me, of course. But the reason I left GG is not because of her people, My God some of the sweetest Christians are there.

It is the system and the issues and the behind the scenes goings on. My personal life is sustained by God as is yours. I didn't come here for pity or to be slammed. I simply shared experiences and things that I know are going on. There is nothing wrong with that. I am looking for a church and want to understand some things.

GG is the only church I have ever been in long term outside of a few months in a CC. When gross error is exposed we all stand or fall before God. I am not here to make enemies, in fact a true Christian would simply listen and take things prayerfully to God.

This is the one place I have been able to get questions answered without a fear. My questions have not been directly answered by Pr. R or Pr Duff. And although I love them deeply as friends they have not been completely straight forward with me.

As for my daughter, she loves me and gets upset when people rail. She really is a lovely girl but is quite taken aback by Christianity because of what she sees here and things that happened to her while in GG as a young teen, the way she was treated by youth leaders, thus her fear of going to a church.

She just recently started exploring the Bible and started trusting God again. So when she hears and sees what she has seen in GG (you weren't there, you don't know) and what she hears and sees here, it is only natural to react.

It puts us all in the place of is there such a thing as true Christianity? the love of God entreating people, His lovingkindness and mercy coming through the kind words of people who want to help seekers of the Lord.

That's all I really have to say and I am saying it in kindness. I am sorry that there are people here that don't even know me that would find it thrilling to rail me. God will sort it out, He loves us all, He died for the foolish of which we all are.

the only people who will remain my friends are those who are Christ centered and they are the only friends I desire to have at this point in time outside of my friends who are unbelievers that I pray God will use me in their lives.

Since I made my final decision to leave 2 months ago I feel so disconnected. I am bed bound and am not able to get to a church. Starving for fellowship now that I am out of the nursing home. My house is available for Bible Studies if anyone in Baltimore (not with GG) is interested. As I said I just got out of spending almost a year in a nursing home and am praying for someone to come and share the Word of God with me. Everyone within close ranks of the elders know Schaller is preparing to take over the church. Most of us have heard Dan Lewis complain about how he will be out of a position when Schaller takes over. Schaller and Lewis have a long standing dislike for each other. Also Robinson and Schaller dislike each other. Lewis has complained to many over the last few months that Schaller has Marr in his back pocket. Schaller's bumbling idiot act is just an act, he knows exactly what he is doing. What about the Grace Hour program? This week pr CHS was there live and he asked for more money because the program's finances are not so good.

It has always a taped message, usually an old one, (was it live before?) and there are not many people calling in. Doesn't it mean that it is loosing listeners as well? And donors? Grace Hour has a taped message for the first half hour. It was always a recent one. Now it is an old one because Carl is on drugs and INCOHERENT! He couldn't speak a decent message for thirty minutes if his life depended on it. His five minute rambling messages are carefully prepared and written up for easy reading and he STILL screws them up. Last time heard of anyone outside of the tightly guarded entourage speaking to him, he rambled on about himself and how evil his son Paul was. The elders wish he would go away, but he keeps hanging on. Which is really messing with their plans. Isn't God amusing?

If Nancy Wehe has been "gone a while" why is she listed in last Sunday's brochure as leading a women's breakfast in Fellowship Hall next Sunday? I was told that she and Jack Driscoll had a run-in with some church elders over refusing to vacate some ministry-managed property they were living in. I don't think they have left.

Services are more than 3/4 full, but not packed in like in the past.

If you all notice, the Grace Hour is airing messages from years past in hopes of regenerating the "youthful" pastah of days gone bye.

As far as church attendance, some of my family members that still attend GGWO say that they can't understand what has happened to attendance in the last few months. They tell me that there are quite a few empty seats and ushers are trying to get people to sit more towards the front on Sun morning. (probably to look full for TV)
They also have shared that many prominant GGWO members have "dissapeared" from the scene. No one knows where they have gone.
A male family member said that he has been feeling uneasy at GGWO lately. Especially when pastah gets his standing O's. (I have been praying that God would intervene in their lives and lead them away)

Let's face it folks, GGWO is coming apart at the seams, God IS answering the prayers of His faithful servants that have been on their knees about the events there.
Let God do what God does best, vindicate the weak and powerless. Just as He has done throughout the Bible!

In the end, no matter what, GOD WILL WIN THE VICTORY! Praise Him!!!

There is an uneasy feeling at GGWO. I have heard this from several people. Seats empty, people disappearing. Yet the standing ovations and adulation from some is increasing. Many within GGWO are calling that group "the ones who are drinking the koolaid"

This IS a huge change in the atmosphere! We must pray for more to have their eyes opened and LEAVE! This is spiritual warfare. Those leaders that are energized by evil are very angry they are loosing control. The situation will only worsened. PLEASE PRAY!
