From PASTAH PRAISE Hour a few days ago....

WHAT THEY SAID:

Stevens: "...Paul prayed... let our love be according to DOCTRINE..."
Love (in a sycophantic tone): "That is absolutely correct."
Stevens: "...in another words, we have people right in this ministry that wanna compromise with the devil! They think that that's 'loving our neighbor,' no, no those people will KILL our kids!
(appreciative moans from the gallery)
Love: "That's amazing, Philippians 1:9, he said, 'I pray that your love abounds more and more" I mean it's as if he was praying, 'God, we need a love that is GREATER and GREATER, YES! That it abounds more and more in all knowledge and judgment; DOCTRINE and what? That's right, DISCERNMENT! You need a love that discerns. This is what happened, pastor, in one of John's epistles, someone was opening the door to anyone who knocked on it, and of course when they asked them, 'are you Christians' they said, 'oh, yes, of course we're Christians.' John had to write and correct a problem because they were OPENING THE DOOR to ANYONE who suggested that they belonged to the Lord, and they were literally being robbed of their reward because they didn't have a love that was discerning."
Stevens: "There ya have it!"
(hoots and hollers from the studio audience)
Love: "The Bible teaches that we need a love, this sounds SO strange, but our love has to practice discrimination. And I know that that word has a negative connotation, but all it means is that we need a discerning kind of love and its gotta be a love that abounds more and more with discernment."

WHAT THEY MEAN:

"It's ok to be a jackass to people who disagree with our histrionic pastor-worship, sentimentality, and pet-doctrines. Such jackasses who disagree with us 'will KILL our kids' so don't let 'em go home to jackass former affliate ministries."

"What they said and what they mean"

This could be an extremely amusing thread given all the trite phraseology we heard over the years.

Heres one
What Carl Said;
"Gods gonna really use you !"
What Carl meant;
'I'm gonna really use you'
(and your money, and your spouse, and your kids, and your time)

I would rather hear the tape of LBJ ordering his pants.

Heres another

What Carl said; "God gave me a word of knowledge about you"

What Carl meant;
"Someone told me some personal information about you and now I'm gonna pretend God told me by announcing it in front of everyone"

Jim, it would be more hilarious to hear a tape of CHS ordering his pants...

"...they cut me, so gimme a few inches back around mah bung-hole!"

Dont get me started;

What Carl said; "He's off"
What Carl meant; 'He actually dared to disagree with me!?!? '

What Carl said: "She needs to get right with her paaastah teacher"
What Carl meant:
'She refused my sexual advances!?!?"

What Carl said : "Their kids are living in rebellion"
What Carl meant; 'Their kids are too damn sharp to fall for my bull****'

WHAT THEY SAID (Regarding "Enemies of the Cross" from a conversation on PASTAH PRAISE HOUR last week):

Confused Caller (who's on the right track): "Uh... the thing that confuses me, is, you know, to me, when someone makes a statement like 'opposed to the cross' or 'against the cross of Jesus Christ' it means to me that when Christ said, 'It is finished' at Calvary they don't accept it, the finished work that was completed on Calvary and what Christ came and died for. Uh, so when I share that, I might be wrong, I'm probably wrong, but....
(Interrupted)
Love: "...I think, Roland, that when you consider that individual, that's just an unbeliever. There's no justification to refer to unbelievers as 'enemies;' why would they be enemies? They're in darkness, they're blinded by the god of this world, 2 Corinthians 4:3 and 4, it would be unjust and unfair to refer to them as ENEMIES when they've been living according to the only nature they know; an old sin nature, separated from God, not having been regenerated... it would be very difficult to classify them as enemies. Clearly when the Apostle Paul uses this term he's talking about people who have once been enlightened by the truth. And now, based upon decisions that they made, uh, they now find themselves in opposition to the cross, against God, and in many cases in opposition against the Apostle Paul and the WORK that God called them to."

WHAT THEY MEAN:

1) "Enemies of the cross" are people who don't honor and respect and listen to every word that proceeds out of the mouth of Stevens. Rome is an "enemy of the cross." Everyone at Sandy Cove is an 'enemy of the cross.'
2) "Only believers can be "enemies of the cross" when they don't honor, respect and pay attention to every word that proceeds out of the mouth of Stevens. They have 'been enlightened' and have rejected it.
3) Unbelievers aren't "enemies of God."

UM, PASTOR LOVE... WHAT ABOUT: Romans 5:10, Colossians 1:21, HMMM????

I can't even BEGIN to grasp how such a major distortion can be allowed to go on. I mean, this is not just simple mistakes in interpretation, this is clear opposition to a major concept within the text in favor of some BS from Stevens.

I listened to one of the archived GH programs of April and there rose a question about being neutral. CHS said that this is a very important subject, let's stay in it. He said that neutrality is criminality, it always includes a compromise.

Does it mean that we always have to choose sides? Weren't we warned against being for Paul or for Apollos? I don't get it.

Gosh, I get so embarrassed that I, at one time, believed all this bu_____t. It is so "anti-Christ."

sigh....

The lovely thing is that the Lord is taking care of it... the mass exit... many are finally seeing the truth of the matter.

It seems to me that Paul should take over the ministry. The people at the top seem like the "Papisty". "Pope Stevens" the controlling influence for power over the TRUTH. Shaller seems to keep the status quo. Can't he see the signs? The people in the long run will choose.

Carl and Tommy don't want to see the signs. They want to live in a fantasy world where they are the center of truth in all Christianity, where they are always right and everyone who disagrees with anything they say is of Satan. They live in denial concerning that more people are leaving and instead they believe they are having a revival. SOME REVIVAL!!! Sounds like they are falling apart with more affiliates leaving and more people walking out the doors in Baltimore never to return. Let the exodus continue. Maybe they will wake up when they are preaching to an empty room!!

ralphwells we at Liquidwaves are going for either Orange or Lime!

What bugs me is how they can let some fool ramble on for 5-10 mins while on the air and all the person is doing is praising Stevens, and talking about how great the ministry is. If they only took half of that time and told how great Christ was, maybe things would be different there!

I remember one time Pastor Paul was going into something and it was really good, he then started to give a salvation prayer over the radio and right in the middle of it Stevens chimes in with something stupid and broke any momentum that Pastor Paul had going.

That is the exact reason it is truly a personality cult!http://www.factnet.org/discus/clipart/angry.gif Persoanlity cults ALWAYS exult the leader more than Christ.

Please notice those of you who are still in, I did not say above, I said more! Think about it, whose name do you hear mentioned more, Stevens of Christ?http://www.factnet.org/discus/clipart/sad.gif
