THE TRUE FALSE REPENTENCE OF C.L. DEMEO

When CL Demeo comes to tell you that he repented publically for the errors that he made, don't believe it ! We were there !

When CL Demeo comes to tell you that no one came to him and told him what they had against him, don't believe it. Many people went to see him and tell him what was wrong and why they were leaving his church.

In 2003, Pastors PAUL STEVENS and SCOTT ROBINSON came to France to UCHAUD, to try to find a solution to the internal problems of the church as a response to the numurous complaints made to Baltimore concerning the polity of his church leadership.

At that time, C.L. DEMEO had said that the representatives from Baltimore were coming for the annual spring banquet and to rebuke those who were in opposition to him. What a surprise for him and those who supported him to see that the representatives from Baltimore came first of all to try and reason with C.L. DEMEO, and to reconcile him with those who opposed him.

There was a real desire to reconcile among those who were against C.L. DEMEO. We were expecting a lot from this time and we truly hoped for something great to happen.

But our hopes proved in vain when C.L. DEMEO spoke before his staff and the representatives from Baltimore, for what he called "repentence". I recall on pharse from him. " I ask for forgiveness IF I have done something" Then he tried to touch our sentiments by speaking about the death of a recent friend (completely of the subject under the present circumstances) and while he spoke his wife found it necessary to leave for a few moments. Everyone was very disappointed and knew that his request for forgiveness resembled more some kind of magic formula that a child would repeat in order that you would leave him alone.

NON, that day there was no repentence and there never was any after either!

C.L. DEMEO was not even conscious of what he had been doing during the last years and doesn't seem to be even today. He still persists in believing that he is right and that we are all in error. Repentence is a gift of God and one that he has not yet received. I have always said that if C.L. DEMEO had truly repented and had a change of attitude, of direction, then many things could have been avoided. But in his life as a pastor there was a total absence of self-criticism or question of his motives.

LA VRAIE FAUSSE REPENTANCE DE C .L. DEMEO

Quand C.L. DEMEO viendra vous dire qu'il s'est repenti publiquement pour les erreurs qu'il avait faites, ne le croyez pas !
Nous étions là et témoins .
Quand C.L. DEMEO dit que personne ne lui a dit ce qu'on lui reprochait, ne le croyait pas !
Plus d'une personne est allé lui dire ce qui n'allait pas, et pourquoi elle quittait l'Eglise de C.L. DEMEO !
En 2003, les Pasteurs PAUL S. et SCOTT R. sont venus en France à UCHAUD, pour tenter de trouver une solution aux problèmes internes de l'Eglise, suite aux nombreuses plaintes auprès de Baltimore concernant la politique de fonctionnement de son dirigeant.
A cette époque, C.L. DEMEO laissait entendre que les représentants de Baltimore venaient à sa demande pour le banquet annuel, et reprendre tous ceux qui qui s'opposaient à lui.
Qu 'elle ne fut pas sa surprise, et celle de tous ceux qui le soutenaient, de constater que les représentants de Baltimore étaient venus pour d'abord raisonner C.L. DEMEO, et essayer de le reconcilier avec ses opposants !
Il y avait une réelle volonté de réconciliation parmi les gens qui étaient contre C.L. DEMEO.
Nous attendions beaucoup de ce moment, et nous espèrions réellement qu'un grand moment aller se passer.
Mais tout espoir fut vain, lorsque C.L. DEMEO prit la parole devant son staff, et les représentants de Baltimore, pour soi-disant se repentir de ses erreurs .
Je retiendrai cette phrase de lui : « je vous demande pardon SI je vous ai fait quelquechose ! »
Il essaya de nous attendrir en nous parlant plus de la mort ressente d'un de ses amis (hors sujet dans la circonstance), et son épouse s'est même absentée pendant quelques minutes.
Tout le monde était déçu, et savait que le pardon de C.L. DEMEO ressemblait plus à une formule magique qu'un enfant dit pour qu'on le laisse tranquille.
Non, ce jour là, il n'y a pas eu de repentance, et plus jamais d'ailleur !
C.L. DEMEO n'était même pas conscient de ce qu'il avait fait durant ces dernières années, et aujourd'hui encore !
Il persiste toujours à croire qu'il a raison, et que nous étions dans l'erreur.
La repentance est un don de Dieu, et celui-là, il ne la pas encore reçu .
Je dis toujours que si C.L. DEMEO s'était réellement repenti, et avait changé d'attitude, de direction, alors beaucoup de choses auraient pu être évitées.
Mais il y a dans sa vie pastorale , une absence totale d'auto-critique et de remise en question.
