Pastor Carl Stevens says: Hey that’s a great thing where your whole church goes to a conference together.
I remember when I was in Lenox I used to follow Jack Hyles’ conferences and take just as many as I could, and it was very helpful to me.

This is the first I ever heard of it. There were many conferences at Hyles' church, but I highly doubt Stevens and a group from Lenox attended or were encouraged to attend. I suppose it was possible. Does anyone who worked closely with CHS know if he actually took a contingency to Hyles' conferences?

Daved, I listened to this message:

Devotional message by Pastor Carl Stevens: "Unknown but Well-Known in Heaven"" Tape #clasic7

The sound quality wasn't too good on this one, BUT the preaching was done EXACTLY the same style as Jack Hyles used to preach in the 70s. No doubt, CHS listened to a LOT of JH's messages. I had to make sure I heard the Maine accent to be sure it wasn't Hyles speaking.

It is amazing how Stevens imitated the style of Jack Hyles. I used to call that style the "Baptist sing-song". The inflections and "tune" of the speaking is uncanningly the SAME as Hyles. Hyles had the Texas accent which seems better to emphasize certain words.

I have heard hundreds of Jack Hyles messages over the years. He was my favorite preacher. That was one of the reasons I liked CHS; because he reminded me of Hyles and had a big emphasis on soul-winning just like Hyles did.

This message:"Unknown but Well-Known in Heaven" is truly a classic and is so different from the intellectual gobbly gook he started preaching during the Lenox daze.
