Again I want to suggest that we start gathering together regionally. This isn't about fighting GGWO. It's about what God wants of us and being instruments in His hands. Look for places to be joined for His purposes. Go on with the things He wants from you. And continue posting here and telling the truth. Give accurate accounts of what you know. Speak in love. The victims need love. Abuse needs to be exposed. It needs to be fought. Bob

Why is gathering together and helping the wunded begin to heal "spaced out"?

That's where you are wrong. Some of us are more "gathered" than you think.

My wife and daughter and I spent some time with Tom Lloyd on our way home from vacation. It was a beautiful time of memories and catching up on how the years have passed for us. I'll be at a Bible study tonight that includes some other ex-beakers. It'll be a hot time; and it won't be about TBS/GGWO.

Found this thread from June ... are there still groups of ex-beakers gathering regionally? If so, where might some of these groups be located? Also, I prefer to not give away my current location for the moment, thank you.

KB if you are in Baltimore area, there is a group of us that gather at my house on Saturday evenings. Right now we are "on hold" until the first Saturday in March 2005. If you need more info, write me at
gracekid2@aol.com. Put "Saturday gathering" in the subject line of the email so AOL doesn't put it in my spam box. You can email me and use an anonymous name if you aren't comfortable with disclosing it. If you choose to disclose it, I won't divulge your identity.

...looks like there are not very many fellowship groups ... or not much interest in this subject.

We gather in Lee, MA the first Saturday night of the month at Bob and LuAnn Herring's house and one Sunday night a month at a local bar called The Blues Cafe on Rte. 102 in Lee. The bar doesn't serve alcohol during our meeting. There also is a Christian coffehouse in Lee called His Place that many people who've left TBS/GGWO often hang out at. If you're somewhere in this area or within reach, I'm in the phone book. My normal email address is bob.brinton@verizon.net
But I don't currently have access to it. I can get mail at mbjbrinton@hotmail.com ; but my use of my daughter's laptop is sporadic.

Hi brief!

Louise Connolly came to the Blues Cafe this past Sunday night. It was a great pleasure to sit and visit with her and meet her five year old son.

If you know the Herrings, you know that formality is not a major consideration. There's a lot of flexibility and variety to what goes on. Some of you with buttoned collars might find reasons to take offense. It was like that with Bob even back in the Lenox days. Anyone remember him coming in with Lu in the middle of service and going down front looking for seats? I can laugh at that now. I was ushering then. Now I appreciate his 'lack of respect'. He had it right all along.

Bob - Absolutely, Bob was one of the best "structure breakers" around! Other times Lu would already be there and Bob would come in late and talk (did he ever speak softly?) with people at the back of the chapel. http://www.factnet.org/discus/clipart/rofl.gif I ushered the teen section, and could hear him all the way up there. Thanks for the memory Bob.

Blessings,

Ralph

Aaah, I was a young pup in those days! I thought Bob Herring was hilarious...no unnoticed entrances or exits with Bob! The word 'shhhhh' was torn from his dictionary! I remember him walking in late and all the stupid looks he would get...Christine and I used to chuckle as we watched him stroll down center aisle in the new chapel! I am sure glad we built it for drama...little did we know! He probably has no idea who I am...but I sure remember him and LuAnn.

Speaking of drama TBS/GGWO sure has offered much over the years...too bad much of it is tragedy-comedy.

I was thrilled to meet you, Bob Brinton. It was also great to see Bob and LuAnn who haven't changed a bit. The Blues Café gathering reminded me of my Christian Coffee house days. It was genuine fellowship with Christians not phony or contrived.

I hope to go back again and bring my husband when the weather gets warmer. Debbie's house was so peaceful and pretty with the fresh snowfall this past weekend. I used to visit Deb pre 1987 and would say it is so beautiful out her in the Berkshires except there is one problem, The Bible Speaks is here. Not anymore the Berkshires are still beautiful and now TBS free.

I did think about John Gardner during my visit. Debbie and I ran into him one time at the Berkshire mall when I was visiting her. He seems to be one of the walking wounded casulties of TBS. I hope I am wrong and that he too has dealt with his cult experience. God Bless John Gardner he is a good person.

I miss John, Louise. Once in a great while I see him. It would please me to no end if he'd post here, and maybe make it up to Freeport in August. There's no way to measure the help he was to those of us who ended up leaving in 1995. He brought things to a head. He sure payed for it.
