Hi, I read some old messages and was hoping for a discussion. I became a Christian in Falmouth through Bill Fisher in 75.

Just a suggetion here.
You may want to refer to the board titled
'Greater Grace World Outreach'
about halfway down the index of discussion boards.
It has the largest amount of postings of any cult listed on factnet.
You may recall that the Bible Speaks ministry morphed into Greater Grace World Outreach in 1987 after another of Carls Steven's scandals.
I would bet that your name sounds familiar to some of the people posting there.
Best Wishes.

I was wondering if anyone remembers the details about the man and the ministry from whom Carl Stevens bought 'Telephone Time' now 'Grace Hour'. Carl Stevens was a frequent guest on his show then Carl bought the show. I remember there was quite a bit of baloney about interpreting dreams (my foggy memory was jarred by reading the weird dreams thread).
Here is the bit I remember, I think his last name was Clinton and he was in Lancaster, NH. I remember my junior year in high school going on a week long Summer retreat up in Lancaster, NH to Clinton’s ministry with some friends. I drove my brother's pickup truck up there with all our ten speed bicycles in the back. Clinton was building a humongous church. I think it was named 'Cathedral in the Clouds'. Clinton wound up overextending himself financially with this endeavor and bankrupted his ministry. That would have been when Carl Stevens purchased Clinton’s radio show 'Telephone Time'.

Hi Louise. As I recall, his name was Clinton White. I think he had some sort of behavioural problem that resulted in him getting out of 'ministry', unlike our buddy Carl. I never heard him myself. Sometime in the fall of 1975 was likely my first exposure to TBS.

Clinton White wrote the booklet "The Day The Kings Son Died" which I read shortly after I first became a Christian. I believe his problem was alcoholism, although I am not positive. But I do know for sure that he committed suicide.
