At the above link, Hodeuon made the following comments concerning today's "The Grace Hour" broadcast:

>>>
<font color="ff0000">They talk about how much time Carl put into the ministry, particularly studying.
John Love talks about "upwards of fifty, sixty years."

Commentary: Carl’s studying may have been time-consuming (personally I doubt it) but he really doesn’t have a good grasp of Greek &amp; Hebrew. He is reciting from commentaries when he talks about Greek and Hebrew words. He did not keep up with current scholarship.
As far as 50 or 60 years…Worthley Pond was 46 years ago.
Carl began pasturing at Wiscasset 44 years ago.</font>

At the above link the following "Grace Hour Message" is found:

Devotional message by Pastor Carl Stevens:
<u>"Word of God evaluations at the bema seat" </u>Tape #7625
Today's Host: Pastor Carl H. Stevens and Pastor Paul Stevens</font>

In the taped message which was played on September 8, 2000, Pastor Carl Stevens said that he had been going out every week to evangelize for 47 years.

Set the elapsed time for about 19:42 and you will hear Pastor Carl Stevens say:

<font color="0000ff">That’s why for 47 years I go out every week, unless I’m away.
That’s it.
But why would I do it for 47 years, wouldn’t that wear anybody out?
I look at it like I have a mandate from the one that made me,
and
the Holy Spirit’s love for the one’s that I’m supposed to go to.</font>

Pastor Carl Stevens was born in November of 1929.
The recording of the above message was played on September 8, 2000,
so he must have preached it sometime before September 8, 2000.

2000
<u>**47</u>
1953

Carl Stevens must have first gone out on evangelizing in 1953,
(about 53 years ago)
when he was 23-24 years old.

I do not have a source reference for this, but in my timeline I have Carl's salvation experience dated to 1952. So, yes, he could have been been doing evangelism since 1953.

There's a difference between 50-60 years in ministry and 50-60 years in "the" ministry.

Or was he posturing at Wiscasset? Sorry, words strike me as sources of humor sometimes http://www.factnet.org/discus/clipart/biggrin.gif.

Munson...do you want to here the story about how the <font size="-2">little tiny pastors</font> took advantage of the poorest of the poor?....and how <font size="+2">Wig Boy</font> found his way into the pants of so many?

Sorry, David, I meant to write...

"Do you want to hear the story about how the <font size="-2">LTM</font> took advantage of the poorest of the poor, and how <font size="+1">Wig Boy</font> found his way into the 'pants-pockets' of so many?"

Thanks...Isabella

Well isabeller, if Carl were to be getting into other peoples pants, that would simply put a whole new paint job on things, because woman aren't supposed to wear pants at church! everyone knows that! or is it that they can't sing if they have on pants? i don't recall that doctrine.

rachelengland might just honor us with a song in pants, ol' shat. Perhaps she would like to do a tribute to OTP's numa numa (http://liquidwaves.blogspot.com/2006/10/carls-numa.html)...

Rachel,

Is England your name, or location? If the latter - no wonder you find no pants in church to be so much fun! http://www.factnet.org/discus/clipart/proud.gif
