reading through the archives of these postings have given me "flashbacks" about the different methods and stages of coersive "evangelizing" used on my family by people at GGWO. We were never part of GGWO but family members were. The 70's were all about the awesome powers of pastah and miracles and it being the only true church; the 80's took on a darker character with spiritual threats of harm falling on us if we didn't join (car accidents and illness), the shunning, the "in the spirit" leters and screaming at us whenever we voiced any challenge about the ridiculous booklets pastah put out or his incredulous claims; the 90's were all about the pyramid schemes--i can remeber being asked to have a demonstration at my house on the water purification system but being told some of the pastahs had to come....
These postings have validated for my family that we had great wisdom in avoiding the tactics used against us. The posting many months ago by "eyewitness" about the character of coersion was particularly insightful.
