The week before I left to go upstate to be with my family, I got 2 phone calls from Pastor Lou Kahlenbeck. The first one I caught the "GGWO" on the caller ID and let the message go to the answering machine. The second time, I was on another call and "Lou" got thru.

The conversation was absurd. First thing he's dripping with how much he and his wife missed me and my roommate Nancy. Lah dee dah. Where were they the last 2 years??? Seems to me, "Lou" if you missed me that much my phone should have been ringing off the wall!!

He then told me he wanted to "see" me out to service the next Wednesday night. I told him that wasn't going to be happening, that I was going to another church now. He then got a bit too assertive on the phone, bringing up past conversations with him and his wife in regards to my "loving" my pastor-teacher, and how I had told him years ago that Pastor Stevens was my pastor. He kept badgering me till I agreed that "yes" I had said those things, and that just because I was going someplace else didn't mean that I don't love people that still are at GGWO!! He didn't get it. Will he ever get it??????? Probably not.

He then told me I was "playing church" when I told him I was now attending Pastor Paul's church in Aberdeen. I said "how so" to which he told me that I was out of my call, that if God had told me that Pastor Carl Stevens was my "shepherd" and "pastor=teacher" then God doesn't change his mind and I am church hopping and need to stop it now....and do you hear me, Maria???????

This has nothing to do with loving people. My heart is broken for the people that are still at GGWO. However, I have to look out for my walk with the Lord, and not anybody else's. He had me so intimidated on the phone backing me into a corner I honestly didn't know which end was up. How many others that have left are now getting "hi we miss you" phone calls like this, badgering you as to where you are now going to church. It wouldn't have mattered to him if I was going to Calvary Chapel but it did matter that I was going to the Aberdeen church as I feel led by God to do so. I didn't like that undermining of Pastor Paul one stinking bit.

Why am I writing this? Other than Pastor Marr who is a real friend to me and whose attention I already took this matter to, the other staff pastors and elders read this forum. I'm not going to be "bullied" by any of you so get it straight now that if any of you call my house telling me I am "off" or "church hopping" or WHATEVER -- ESPECIALLY A LINE OF **** THAT YOU ALL OF A SUDDEN "MISS ME" -- I am going to slam the phone in your ears. You certainly did not "miss me" when I was home flat on my back on the floor unable to walk, sit or stand for 9 months, not understanding why nobody in leadership called me at all during that time!!!
So don't tell me you "miss" me now, I don't need your two faced lies.

Other than Pastor Marr's calls that are WELCOME at my home and always will be, the rest of you just better back off and quit calling and sending us messages thru certain people who still go to GGWO that Nancy and I are in fellowship with.

That phone call was probably also one of the reasons things were said this past Sunday morning at Baltimore church. I got 3 phone calls Monday from my friends that still go there telling me the same thing that Pastor Lou had said. One had the nerve to imply that Pastor Stevens was referring to me!!


Yes, I am seething mad about it. And, I am sure that I'm not the only one that message was directed at.


One other thing, I have had things said to me in regards to my having a bible study at my home done by Pastor Marr, that he can't be trusted, that he's a liar, a skunk, two=faced, etc. Until that man does something to me or Nancy that is of those kinds of accusations, I have no reason to not fellowship with him, he is my brother in Christ, the same as everyone here on Factnet posting are my brothers and sisters in the Lord.

For the "record" I shared with my pastor (Pastor Paul Stevens) that I am holding that bible study in my home biweekly. That study I have been a part of for almost 2 years now and God has not led me to discontinue it even with my going to the Aberdeen church. My pastor, Pastor Paul, had no objection to it. Same as I shared with Pastor Marr as to where I am now going to church. He has stood by my decision to leave the Baltimore church, he knows why I have left, and he has supported (as a friend) my going to Pastor Paul's church in Aberdeen. Not once has he ever used his "office" as an elder to challenge my hearing the Holy Spirit in my decision to leave GGWO Baltimore. If anyone "COULD" have, it would have been easy for him to do that. I'm just stating the truth here because I've been asked about it privately over the last 2 months more times than I care to say. Now its out in the open and EVERYBODY knows.

I know some of you blatently hate Pastor Marr. I was not there when things have transpired with him and the other elders. Right now I know there is a lot of discord going on. I hear some things, and have seen some things that are literally ungodly and shocking to me. I also am saddened that people cannot walk together loving the Lord and putting him first whether they be elders, staff pastors, or people still in the body still going there or those who have now left there. I have heard some of the most hateful things said to people, and I saw a few of some ugly things that were done. These things weren't right before the Lord, problem is, people are too quick to judge, and not quick enough to forgive.
Everybody is guilty of that, we all have had our real fleshouts, we've called people some ugly names, had screaming matches with them, some even here on Factnet!! I know I too am guilty of the very same things, and for that I have gone to everyone on here that I have said ugly things to and have made it right. I don't want this kind of Christianity exuding from me. I want the life of the Holy Spirit to exude from me, and I want to give that life to others, whether it be here on factnet, in church at Aberdeen, on the phone, or whereever. I spent a lot of time praying and thinking about things while I was upstate for almost 2 weeks. Our lives with Christ are such a precious gift. I stand to lose my sister to colon cancer if that ends up being Gods plan for her life. Sure makes you think of whats really important, what we make important to us (issues) and truly how are days are numbered by God.

The bottom line in all of this, whether we are hurting from what we experienced at TBS/GGWO...or not...whether we leave or we stay...aren't we still to see each other as Christ sees us? Slamming RJ for loving the Muslims??? I love them too, I have Muslim friends also. I believe they are going to be saved someday. Just because there are Muslim groups that are "bad" doesn't mean that "ALL" muslims are bad people. Cutting Roberta down and telling her to go overseas to take care of those girls that are abused over there was crude and uncalled for. Have we now restored to ripping each other to shreds on here? I hope not.

Even though the anger rears up at times, we still know in our hearts when we've wrongly said or judged someone else's choices, character, or personalities that are not in agreement with our own.

I think a lot of time spent on here lately seems to be done in a fashion of tearing people down, and its so disapointing to see us hurt each other, because all of us are part of Christ's body and that isn't limited to GGWO Baltimore as some seem to think. We all have our own relationships with the Lord and nobody has the right to say who is going to be saved and who isn't, or whether or not someone is hearing from God or not...and I don't mean this to point fingers or start a bone of contention with anybody, I just pray that people will try to see each other in Christ and let go of the petty personality things that bug them about others. I don't mean letting go of the issues that are prevalent to the start of this whole posting on Factnet. Those issues need to be upheld and changes fought for, and hurts healed.

I know I have posted some nasty stuff about you and it was because I didn't believe that you truly have left GGWO. I always viewed you as a Steven's "groupie." You are right, you and everyone else need to hear from the Holy Spirit as to where you go to church, whether it is Aberdeen Church, Baltimore or wherever. I'm not much on apologies but your two posts above caught my eye, and some things other's had written defending you. I'm sorry I attacked you so visciously over the last few months. If you think Sunday morning's service was a fiasco, tonight's wasn't much better. Be thankful you're out. I have too many family ties there and can't leave just yet. There are alot of wounded, angry people here and some may not even understand why they feel that way. I am realizing each day the depths of my wounds and praying for God to heal them and to give me a spirit of forgiveness for those who have hurt me and I believe He will.

God knew and knows and is in control and will speak to each one of us and deal with us according to His mercy in whatever way that may mean.

I just pray for peace and repentence where necessary, for open peaceful dialogue and talking to one another with the Holy Spirit leading to see how things can be handled appropriatly.

In God's time it will happen, we all make mistakes, we all sin, and we have all been and are all deceived at times. Love for the brethren means the love of God is in you.

No love for the brethren means the love of God is not in you. Lord, please breathe on all of us and have Your way, heal, comfort, convict and convince in Your time and Your way, in Jesus' name we ask Amen.

This is simply not true at all. A vast number of people became Christians BEFORE they ever heard of GGWO. Also, many/most of the people whohave left, have recovered and found their way to other churches. Groups meting a homes at a Bible study is a wonderful stepping stone for those still too untrusting and in the process of healing to get the Word and to feel better about being in a group setting.

If only the GGWO leaders LIVED that message then FACTNet would not have over 31,000 posts on the GGWO threads.

FACTNet exists because TBS/GGWO systematically abused their flock for decades. The result is hundreds of believers dealing with the effects of abuse. Everyone deals differently, on FACTNet they are allowed to express freely. We may not always agree with what is said or how it is said. But it is cultic mentality to equate freedom of an individual expression as how the whole group thinks or behaves. The classic black and white attitude. It is a wrong conclusion to believe FACTNet does not have a purpose because some posts are cruel or insenstive or just plain mean.

FACTNet offers an alternative voice after many years of these voices being silenced. Hundreds of believers now find themselves out of GGWO and in healthy churches. That fact should not be overlooked!
