the pastor(guru) assigns certain people to approach incoming visitors to "love bomb" them ,excessive huggings ,dinner invitations ,aggressive phone calling campaign

I was first approached by a co-worker when I first moved to Baltimore. She asked if I had a church "home" and when I said I didn't, she told me about GGWO. Her pitch went something like this: "It's really, really laid back, not legalistic at all. Pastor Stevens is a wonderful man, and you really need to hear him preach. He only teaches from the Bible. I think you'll really like it there, especially since you're single. You'll find a good woman there."

I ended up going to two different Baptist churches here. About that time, I met my dear friend from GGWO. Her pitch was a little different. She described how she had gotten saved through GGWO and the congregation there just loves you as you are. She wanted me to at least watch an internet broadcast of a Sunday service. When I Googled GGWO I found out about all the scandal surrounding Carl and this church.

i got cult pamphlets and tapes as Christmas gifts...birthday gifts...Easter gifts...I had a bad day at the office gifts...

I tried mailing them back, then I threw them away, then I wrote and demanded they stop sending them which they finally did but....

What's sad is you can predict how these people will react. If they sense any kind of disloyalty to the mighty "Carl" you are marked and shunned.

i remember one of the dinners i was invited to , they would only talk about ''thier church'' other christians and things God was doing didnt matter to them ,they wouldn't even pay attention when i was trying to tell a testimony ...also the pastor seems to have short attention span .but the place gave me the creeps

in the mid 70's Marty Veader dropped into my parent's home yelling that the world was going to end and everyone had to get saved....he had just heard some message from Stevens. My Dad escorted him out the door and then demanded of us kids that we have nothing to do with those "worthless Veaders" and that "kook" Stevens. In those days the Veaders were drug-dealing, dope-head thugs who bullied everybody. Now I understand that several of them are "leaders" in the cult. My dad would get a kick out of that!

I had several pastors and "friends" that have totally shunned me and my family since we have pulled away from GGWO. I was told for a long time that I "HAD" to go to MBCS and that I couldn't possibly know the "real"bible if I didn't....

Many have never spoken to us again and avoid us in every situation. They feel that because they "invested" their time, we should do the right thing...go to MBC&S...

give our devotion to pastah....

I personally don't care if I ever have a conversation with these poor souls again! At least I know that my family and I are serving the Lord exactly where HE has called us to be...

And that is NEVER again to be a part of GGWO...

Reading the Bible and singing worship to the Lord do not cause brainwashing...twisting scripture to serve the pocket of the man in leadership or to stroke HIS ego is what is wrong! Jesus is worthy of praise and attention to His word...but Carl is NOT-NOT-NOT!
