Stevens has so many followers forsaking their own families for this cult, and putting GGWO before everything in their lives.

That's the evil part of this cult...people forsake truth for the satisfying pretty lies. Families are ripped apart, relationships that should be healthy are destroyed and shattered.

And Carl and the Cronies ENCOURAGE this!

Disgusting.

How about those who put posting and reading Trashnet before their families?

My family is behind what I say on FactNet 1000%, and very glad that people are trying to rescue others. If Factnet is what we have to make a start, they say go for it...

I don't believe you are trying to rescue others.

Husbands that put church before family are ass kissers to the leadership. I know a few like that in Newark.

Why wouldn't they put GGWO before their families; after all there are young and naive girls there who will hang on these men's every word and breath, unaccounted for money to pay for international travel, five star hotels and "insurance"for ANY indiscretion! No, these "men" have it made in the shade and these "cudos" are far more appealing than "take the garbage out before bedtime" or "did you feed the dog? ... Sick, sick, macho idiosy at GGWO and women are subservient and considered stupid!

What you or anyone else believes about me isn't important ...at least not to me, Anon 68.
Have a nice evening!

But you do spend your time here instead of getting a life. Your life is still wrapped up in the cult after so many years.

Evidently YOU are wrapped up in this cult too; since you're able to ascertain that RJ and others "spend your time here instead of getting a life." HYPOCRITE!

I can visit occasionally and easily see who dominates the board. It's really not so hard to do. Most of my life is filled with a profession, education, and a non-GGWO church. Coming here is like visiting the zoo to watch the monkeys do silly things. See you later.

Someone who wants to rescue should be concerned about what others believe about him/her.
It's highly likely RJ does not want to rescue others.

Hi All,

If you have experienced spiritual abuse at the hands of a spiritual leader you have probably wondered how it could happen. Since normal people don’t do such things to others what is it in his thinking that allows it?

There is a process that began much earlier that gave the leader the “permission” to cross other people’s boundaries and impose his agenda on them. Perhaps the abusers own childhood was one of abuse. In such a case power posturing is the only method he may know. The proper social lessons are supposed to be learned very early in life. As children growing up we learn about boundaries. As teens we learn about respect for self and others and moral integrity. As adults we have to live by these lessons or we quickly come into conflict with other adults who can say things like, “You’re fired.” But what about the person who has not learned these basic lessons and brings them into a position of spiritual leadership?

When you find a leader who abuses power you will also find a larger than normal segment of his followers who are overly submissive. These people lacked their own sense of boundaries and so felt comfortable with someone who would tell them what to do.

There are three areas of motivation where a spiritual leaders dysfunction will show up. Frequently it will manifest in all three areas but one is usually the originating motive. Those areas are Power, Prestige, and the Purse (guys you can substitute wallet here but I wanted to keep my alliteration). This weeks E-Letter will look at Power. The next two weeks will focus on Prestige and the Purse/wallet.

Power is coercive. It is the use of psychological force to bring submission to the leaders agenda. Most leaders who abuse power grow into it. They learn their limits based upon what their followers will allow. Though the leader seems strong he is actually weak. He is like the Wizard of Oz who makes a big show but is really the little “man behind the curtain.” If he were of strong character he would welcome accountability. He would also be willing to share his authority with others.

In the New Testament there is only one place where power can be exercised. That is in the authority of the whole congregation acting corporately as depicted in Matthew 18. Outside of that limitation authority in the New Testament is moral authority. Jesus demonstrated such leadership by His life and words. He spoke the Truth and lived consistently with what He taught. This is the model for all leadership in the New Testament church.

If a spiritual leader keeps reminding you of his position; if he teaches you that you are to submit to his agenda or else you are in rebellion against God; if he says you have a “spiritual problem” after you have disagreed with him; then you are dealing with someone who is weak in the faith and should not be leading anyone in spiritual matters.

You may call our Spiritual Abuse Hotline 24/7. This week’s message is on Unspoken Rules. The Hotline is a pre-recorded message of about 3 minutes duration describing the methods and characteristics of abusive groups. Callers can receive further information by leaving their name and address at the end of the message. All contacts are strictly confidential. The number is 706-221-2166.

I am happy to receive phone calls from anyone who wishes to talk privately with me. You can call anytime from 7 AM till 11 PM any day of the week.

If you have questions you would like for me to discuss in a future email letter feel free to send it in. I will answer it without naming any names.

In Christ,

Do you know the Ensor's??

Isn't the Ensor's son married to Pastor Steven's secretary Nicole, the beautiful indian girl?
Is it true that they have left GGWO now?
Is it also true that Bill Ensor has cut off his son and daughter-in-law and grandchild?

IF this is true then CHS has caused another breakup of another family in this ministry.

Nicole is not the Indian girl, and she's not Pastor's secretary. She is also pretty and very sweet, she is Bill Kline's daughter. And yes they have a baby boy.

Quote:
"Someone who wants to rescue should be concerned about what others believe about him/her. It's highly likely RJ does not want to rescue others."

Dear friend, Jesus didn't care what people thought of Him. He opposed the Pharisees, was nearly stoned for His views more than once and was openly slandered by the Pharisees and called a glutton and a winedbibber (which meant that the people were told to stay away from Him: Prov 23:20 Do not mix with winebibbers, or with gluttonous eaters of meat).
Yet, Jesus saved all of us, regardless of what others thought of Him.
Yes, we shouldn't offend others (Rom 12-14), but I can hardly say that RJ has offended anyone with his views. So what ever you or anyone else thinks of him is secondary in importance, for we are not hear to debate issues regarding someone's personality. We are here to discuss GG.
