I was part of the San Diego Church from around 1969 to around 1980 or thereabouts. I remember the place when it was a barn and then when they built the new place. My wife Kathleen and I were married there by Mat Martinez. Dave Cokas and I used to hang out together in the early days.

I stumbled on this site a while back. It is quite interesting to read the stories here. I can tell a few pretty bizarre tales myself regarding RD Cronquist. I see that TLW has a pretty spiffy website.

I pulled the plug on this thing around 1970-1980 when the services seemed to degenerate into nightly sessions of “yelling at god”. There is only so much of that you can take before going deaf, we must have thought that god was deaf.

I don’t see too many names of people that I recognize here. I wish that some of the contributors would use real names; I might see more people that I know.

David: I do remember you, somewhat, but mostly, I remember a cute blond girl from South Gate that couldn't get over her crush on you. I often wonder what ever happened to …old what’s her name.

I would like to hear some of your tales of RD Cronquist. I remember him as kind of wild and craze with a big love for the Lord, full of faith and revelation. I knew him a little from sparse conversations and we even stayed in his home once. But I never felt I understood him well enough. Also, I believe I and my wife were the last persons in the fellowship he laid hands on as he stormed out of Shiloh through those outside double doors under the portico after a very dark meeting with JRS. He was barging out to a waiting car as we were dragging ourselves in.

I first actually met him and a very young John Miller as they ministered to a group in Seattle. I stood with them and ministered and blessed with them for about an hour and a half maybe two hours. Then I found myself praying inside myself; “I need ministry as much as any here.” RD instantly spun around to face me and said; “The Lord, said I must minister to you. Come here!”

I have known a few people with ancient spirits that serve the Lord, those whom I need in my life far more than they have need of me. I consider RD to have been one of these. So, what tales of mirth and wisdom have you?
