What's wrong with Andrew Murray? I guess that could sound like a sarcastic question but I mean it very seriously. Recently I've heard of Andrew Murray mentioned as a very questionable writer. I've heard that here on FACTNet and elsewhere. Also recently we left a group that we now believe is a cult. Andrew Murray was a favorite writer of mine for years before we ever heard of the group and they were unfamiliar with him. So I wonder if I took a wrong turn a lot longer ago than I realized.
While we're at it, what about Oswald Chambers? He's another favorite. I've never heard anything negative about him except at the cult/group. But it's clear I have NO judgment at all.

Infreedom, I dont' know of the writers you speak of. But I do know this Keep your eyes on Jesus he should be your leader and director of your life. I think you are aware of this. Cant' rely on what man writes only on the word of God.

Thy word is a lamp unto thy feet and light unto thy path. Ps. 119:105.

If you don't understand king james version, the New international version is a good choice. Remember if you are still focus on Jesus then i would not worry about who you like as a minister so much as long as you focus on the true minister (Jesus) because he is Lord.
And just because you see a group named on factnet doesn't make them necessarily a cult.

Infreedom,
Nothing is wrong with Andrew Murray at all.
There is still Power in the Blood of Jesus, and don't let anybody tell you differently!

I read some stuff both by A. Murray and O. Chambers. I know they both were good christians. However I don't recall specific doctrines or ideas.
Personally, I don't mind if anybody denigrates my favorite writer. I take the discussion to the doctrines and to Bible verses. That's important. God bless.

I can remember reading, "The Power of the Blood of Jesus", by Andrew Murray around 20 years ago. It is one of the best books I have ever read in my life!
Looking on the Internet regarding the book the chapters are:

1. What the Scriptures teach about the blood. 2. Redemption by the blood. 3. Reconciliation by the blood. 4. Cleansing by the blood. 5. Sanctification by the blood. 6. Cleansed by the blood to serve the living God. 7. Dwelling in "the Holiest" by the blood. 8. Life in the blood. 9. Victory by the blood. 10. Heavenly Joy through the blood.

The reason some Christians may not like Andrew Murray reminds me of a phrase of a song by Steve Camp that says, "Their cross is a bloodless stick."
