Arron this is about that dispensational doctrine being discussed in about four different threads. Dispensational doctrine believing that the Holy Spirit gift of tongues ended in Acts and others disagreeing with it. The use the verse in ICor 13 that says tongues will cess.
Now was not the Holy Spirit in Acts pour out on both men and woman? take a look Acts one women were in the upper room and I don't think they weren't there the day of penacost but was with them too Because of the verse saying that I willpour out my spirit on both sons and daughters.

Were not the apostles giving the Holy spirit
on the day Jesus arose.
St Jn. 20:22
Some will say why then did he breath the Holy Spirit only to eleven apostles because Thomas was not there.
Well Jesus made another appearence for this purpose 8 days later when Thomas was there.
St. Jn 20:20
Thomas "My LORD and MY GOD" This is the only time in scripture we have an apostle Possessing
Jesus as GOD. Thomas was Convicted by the Holy Spirit at this moment.
1 Cor 12:3 "No man can say that Jesus is LORD,
but by THE HOLY GHOST."
Not Only did Thomas Call Jesus LORD , BUT GOD as Well.

I wonder if that verse could be referring to the vanity of someone without the Holy Ghost saying that Jesus is Lord.
