Many of us have heard about those "over there" who are persecuted for the Name of Jesus. But just how really informed are we as 'sheltered' Christians? Do many of us even care? What have we done personally to assist our brothers and sisters who are persecuted, tortured, brutalized, and even murdered for faith in Jesus Christ?

Many are not even remotely aware of the inhumane brutality occurring in North Korea under the dictatorial regime of Kim Jong I1. His basement is *stocked with 10,000 bottles of French wine, and he opens three every day to decide which bottle to drink. He is rumored to run drugs, slaves, and weapons to other nations. He reportedly spends millions on food, homes, automobiles, entertainment, including 15 million dollars for U.S. professional wrestler entertainment. Meanwhile, public executions of religious and Christian people occur routinely under the guise of "fair treatment." Many are starved to death, raped, tortured, executed, and imprisoned for their uncompromising commitment to the Name of Jesus Christ. North Korean government officially defines 'Church' as "an organization that spreads poisonous anti-government ideas to take the people's rights away, disguised as religious activity. The 'Bible' is defined as "A book written of the false Christian religion to deceive." 'Heaven' is "A false world created to trick or lie that a person will live better after death." 'Jesus' is defined as "An idol of this faith who is proposed to be the son of God." 'God' is defined as the "Falsified One who said that He created nature, society, and destiny." This sort of indoctrination permeates the minds of men and women. WHAT ARE WE IN THE 'FREE WORLD' DOING to assist our brothers and sisters who are in harms' way?? Do most of us even care??

What about the persecuted in China, Saudi Arabia, Cuba, Libya, Gaza Strip, Egypt, Iran, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Pakistan, Belarus, Algeria, India...NEED I GO ON??

As we sit back in our comfortable pews and chairs each Sunday or Sabbath, and squabble over which Bible translation we will use, what style of music we will promote, what denominations we will endorse, what mode of baptism we will practice, how we will spend all the tithes, offerings, and donations that we received last week; let us not forget to PRAY, GIVE, AND ASSIST THESE FELLOW BELIEVERS desperately in need our prayerful assistance and support. If we do not, who on this earth will?? ("To whom much is given, much is required.")

Let this thread be utilized for sharing your concerns, knowledge, and experiences, regarding these persecuted brothers and sisters. Most of all, let us discuss what plans of action are being taken by we as individuals, churches, ministries, governing bodies, and the like, to help assist and encourage them. Furthermore, consider supporting ministries, churches, and other organizations who are reaching out to assist the suffering in the Name of Jesus Christ. Thank you!
