Really, I think it is a doctrine regarding the church in the endtimes. I want to know what it is regarding, any problems connected with it, etc.

The manchild is a doctrine that came out of the latter rain revival era which purports that in the last days that God will raise up an army of empowered believers who will go out and do the works of Christ (greater works than these....). That is just a nutshell. I used to hold to this teaching, but after many years of re-evaluating it, have come to the conclusion that it is not a valid teaching if it is taken in the manner that many charismatic/pentecostal groups take it. In my opinion and experience, it tends to foster a great deal of spiritual pride, whose fruits cause all kinds of rottenness.

Signs before the end and the second coming of Jesus Christ

Please read the following verses from your own bible because I have not written the bible verses but I have written my own little comentary about the verses

Rev. 16:15 Jesus said, behold, I came as a theif.(Please note that this verse was written in revelation after the antichrist is revealed Rev. 13:16-18 and Rev. 14:8-12 the saints were going through the tribulation)

1 Thes. 4:16-18 We will meet the Lord in the air (I think that Jesus will come this way because they are going to be many false Christs in the earth and God wanted to be sure that we are not tricked into following a false christ.) Read also Acts 1:11.



2 Thes. 2:3-4 A falling away (apostacy) will come first and the anticrist will be revealed before Jesus comes back. The son of perdition (antichrist) will sit in the temple in jerusalen and proclaim himself to be God. Read also Mark 13:14.

Mattew 24:5; Mark 13:5-6 and Luke 21:8 For many shall come on Jesus's name saying, I am Chirst; and shall deceive many.(One example of this is the manifest sons of God latter rain heresy). Read also Mattew 24:23-27; Mark 13:21-23

Mathew 24:21-22 For then shall be a great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time.no.nor ever shall be. the bilble also said in verse 22 that if the days of the tribulation were not shortened no flesh would be saved and that for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. Read the following verses that shows that we are going to be well into the tribulation before the second coming of Christ

Mattew 24:29-31 and 36 ( No one knows the day and the hour of Jesus return but we know that is going to be apostacy, great tribulation and the son of perdition will be revealed before it happens.) Read also Mark 13:24-27 and Luke 21:27.

I feel worry and sad when I think that many of the people who believe in the unbiblical doctrine of the pretribulation rapture might feel desperate and confuse when the tribulation starts and they might end up been deceived into accepting the false Christs, the anticrist and even the mark of the beast. We need to open our bibles and test with the scriptures everything that is taught to us.

So what is the man child? Is it Jesus? Or does it have something to do with the end time church?

Who was the woman? Is she Israel? Or is she something in the end times. We know the dragon was the devil, don't we? And his tail casting down a third of the stars would be casting down a third of the angels??? Right?? So if the part about the dragon happened another time other than the end days then the woman part could have too. And that makes it possible for the woman to indeed be Israel?

What are your thoughts?

I've met people on the internet that believe the manchild is being birthed now and that the woman is around. But yet I see the part about the dragon already as been fulfilled. I mean that already happened, Satan's fall and his taking a third of the angels with him. So I keep thinking if that already happened then maybe the woman is Israel.

There are people that claim everything in the book of Revelation has to happen after the days of John because it is a prophecy book. But yet Satan fell before the John was born and that is in the book of Revelations.

I get so confused about prophecy!!!!!!

Revelation chapter 12

The following paragraphs had been copied form the above website.

In that chapter, a woman wearing a crown with 12 stars is pregnant with a child, "travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered" (vs. 2). She is said to bring forth a "manchild" (KJV), literally, "a son, a male", who was "to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up to God, and to his throne" (vs.5). After this, the woman flees "into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days" (1260 days or 3 1/2 years--vs. 6). After this, there is war in the heavenlies and Satan is cast out by Michael and his angels while the earth "helps" the woman by "swallowing up" a flood cast out of the dragon's mouth.
What I see in this story is a simplified panorama of redemption history with spiritual Israel bringing forth the Messiah of mankind, Jesus Christ. The child being "caught up to the throne" is Jesus' ascension. At that point there is a chronological leap forward of spiritual Israel, now the Church, to the last days under persecution by Satan, and only finding refuge in the remote places of the earth during the 1260 day Tribulation (vs. 16).

Do you think New Orleans was that great city? Alas, alas that great city for in one hour her destruction came and the kings of the world watched her agony? I kind of think it might have been, but see then again this is why prophesy is hard to understand. It could be being fulfilled and we might never know it, unless we understand.

Who really understand prophesy, who really knows what is going on? I could say that the churches are the things filled with every kind of foul bird now and President Bush really isn't the christian that he claims to be but is really being used by those who want to usher in the one world government. His religousness will probably be what adds the "religious" aspect of the antichrist's plan as the devil seeks to be worshipped as God. I could say that even now they are using events such as Hurricane Katrina to unit all the spiritually dead churches and it will appear to be of God and not be. And oh it will look so good and warm and all fuzzy and nice.

And then again with natural disasters such as what Hurricane Stan is doing in Central America, Hurricane Katrina, Rita, and Charley, the tsunmia, the earthquake just today in Asia, one could say it looks like the end is starting. What do you think?

Then maybe what my mind thinks isn't so far off because the bible tells me that I have been given a sound mind.

All things will be come clear to me and I will someday see what the woman is. I will someday understand if I will go through the tribulation or not. I really do believe I will understand it.

Please read my previous message. I have already explained what I believe to be the identy of the woman in Revelation chapter 12 en my previous message.

In Revelation chapter 17 a different type of woman is mentioned. This woman is a false church, false religion, probably many denominations and cults, who together with the Catholic church had committed spiritual prostitution and adultery by compromising with the world and had fallen into apostasy.
In Revelation 18:4 God is calling the real Christians to come out of this false church that had fallen into apostasy. Read Revelation 18:4

The great city of Babylon might be Rome or the place where the new world religion ( false church) headquarters is placed or the false church.

Revelation 18:24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that where slain upon the earth.

So here is another clue. This city is responsible for the inquisition of the saints. (Probably in the past and in the future).

I pray that God will help both of us to understand and keep the words of this prophecy. Please read Revelation 1:3

I agree with you about what you said about Revelations 17 and 18 totally. I've been out of the churches for a long long long time.

I was really interested in this website when I came on and found the church I came out of on it's list of cults, which is the Mennonite Church. And I thought, well, that is really interesting. Then I came back because I wanted to list Andrew Stroms website on the list. Then I got looking around and found the Doctrine/Beliefs/Proof/Practices thread and I've stayed here a couple of days.

May I ask you if you beleive in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and that they are for today?

I believe in the real gift of the Holy Spirit but I do NOT belive in some UNBIBLICAL manifestations that you see in many churches that had fallen into apostasy today.

Some unbiblical manifestations seen in the church today like the Toronto Experience, [un] holy drunkness etc. are listed in the bible as a sign of judgement on Babylon! eg see Jer 51: 35-58, Jer 51:45.

Falling Backwards: is another manifestation NOT found in the New Testament Church. In the bible we can see that only those who are opposing God go backwards or fall in this way. eg. John 18:6, Isa:1:4; 28:12-13 and Jer 7:24. Saints in the bible did not fall for no reason in this way.

Saints in the scriptures always fall forwards whenever a direction is specified eg.Ezek 3:23; Matt 17:6, Rev.11:16. Saints in the bible only fall for good understandable reasons and not because an unseen force knocks them over or controls them.

Carpet time/floor time: This involuntary sleep is not found in The New Testament Church although it is found among the list of judgement on APOSTACY eg Isa:56:9-11;Jer 51:57:58 and Isa 29:1-10.

In the Mid 1980's well after I left a latter rain cult called Maranatha, I went with a Christian friend to visit a church where an American group was visiting. Everyone who was touched by the members of this group from the USA was falling backwards and were left for a few minutes lying in the floor in a trance-like state.

The first thing that came to my mind was that I have never seen these manifestations in the bible and I strongly felt that these manifestacions did not come from the Holy Spirit. I did not feel peace. I prayed in the name of Jesus Christ a simple prayer. I said to God if this weird unbiblical manifestation do not come from you protect me and my christian friend from falling backwards on the floor. We were the only two outside the American group who did not fall backwards. My friend did not know about my prayers.
