Hi guys i was just thinking of you's and thought i would drope in and share this with you,
First century Christians kept the 7TH day Sabbath!!!
"In Acts 18:4, Paul’s custom was to worship on the Sabbath with Greeks. This proves it was not a Jewish worship service but a Christ centered worship service separate from the Jewish synagogue worship. The Greeks were uncircumcised and did not keep the Sabbath or the Law of Moses.
Lets us look at
{Acts 13:44 And the next {Sabbath day} came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God}.
And
{Acts 16:13 And on the Sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
First of all let me let me draw your attention to Acts 13:44 "And the next Sabbath nearly the whole city assembled to hear the word of God."
Lets start with verse 41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.
42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the {Gentiles} besought {BEGED} that these words might be preached to them {the next Sabbath}.
43 Now when the {congregation} {OF GENTILES} was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
44 And {the next sabbath day} came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
45 But when the {Jews} saw the multitudes {OF GENTILES} they were filled with {envy}, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that {the word of God should first have been spoken to you}: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, {we turn to the Gentiles}.
47 For so hath {the Lord commanded us}, saying, {I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles}, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
48 And when {the Gentiles heard this}, they were glad {NOT THE JEWS}, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. {Those Gentiles that were ordained to eternal life believed and was converted on the Sabbath Day}!!!
49 And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.
50 But the {Jews} stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts. {The Jews were Highly upset with Paul and Barnabas for Teaching The Gentiles The Gospel or

{GOOD NEWS} In The Name of Christ Joshua for the first time on the Sabbath Day and the Fact the {GENTILES accepted it as Truth and were converted, They {The Jews} {WERE JELIOUS}.
51 But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.
52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
QUESTION
If in Fact {Sun-day = The First day of the week} was the {New Christian Sabbath} or {day of Rest and Worship} Due to the resurrection of Christ, Why In the world would the Apostle Paul {the Chosen light of the Gentiles}, make the Gentiles Waite 7 full days until the next {7TH day Sabbath=Saturday} to hear the Gospel or Good News concerning Christ and the Kingdom of God for the very first time and be Converted,
If {Sun-day} was in fact the {New Christian Sabbath} or {Day of Rest and Worship} {Due to the resurrection of Christ} than the Apostle Paul {The Apostle that was blinded knocked off a horse and personally chosen by Christ himself to be the light of the Gentiles} would have simply told them to come back the very next day wouldn’t he have. {The hard cold fact} is that the very next day {Sun-day or the First day of the week} was a {work day} and their wouldn’t be another day of rest until 7 full days later on {the 7TH day Sabbath} which {everyone} kept in the First Century, until the Great Whore known as The Roman Catholic church came in and changed everything and the Apostolic Church as we knew it back than became Apostate.
Now let us look at Acts 16:13”
And on the {Sabbath} we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, {heard us}: {whose heart the Lord opened}, {that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul}.
15 {And when she was baptized}, {and her household}, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.
QUESTION
{Wasn’t it on the 7th Sabbath} that the Apostles went down by the river side to speak to this certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, and when the Apostles Spoke to her for the very first time {on the 7TH Sabbath} concerning Christ and the Kingdom of God wasn’t it {on the 7TH Sabbath} that {the Lord himself} {opened this women’s heart} so she could accept the Gospel or Good News concerning Christ and be converted {on The 7Th Day Sabbath}. And it’s {a Biblical fact} that each and every NT Convert recorded in the 27 Epistles of the NT canon or Scriptures were Baptized the same day they heard the Gospel or Good News concerning Christ and the Kingdom of God and believed, which only stands to reason that this woman {Lydia and her whole household} {was Baptized converted and added to the Church {Assembly} or {Body of Christ} that very same day on the {7TH day Sabbath} Wouldn’t you think?

I would like now to draw your attention to Matthew 24:20-22
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the {sabbath day}:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, {such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be}.
22 {And except those days should be shortened}, {there should no flesh be saved}: but for the {elect's sake} {those days shall be shortened}.
QUESTION
Have you ever {truly studied} these 3 scriptures and do you {actually realize} {just what they are truly saying to you and I or just what they are trying to warn us of}????????????
Many Christians today truly believe with all their hearts that this prophecy has been fulfilled in 70AD, during the destruction of Jerusalem! This is a very deep deception, because Mat 24:20 is broken down into a two part prophecy, part one concerning the temple where Christ tells them that their will not be one stone left upon another that will not be thrown down has been fulfilled, but the second part of the Sermon on the Mount is still a future event that will catch millions and millions of professing Christians with their guard down! And at that time they will become apart of the Great apostasy or Great Falling away from the Church!
Even if Mat 24:20 was talking about the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD, concerning the flight in the winter and the keeping of the Sabbath Day as many Professing Christians believe and many well known and highly respected Church leaders teach today, That would mean that {Christ himself} was still telling his Apostles that he expected them to still be keeping the {7th Day Sabbath}={The Fourth commandment} 70 Years after his death and resurrection! And if this is true than it would also mean that the {true Sabbath} Was never ever changed from the 7th Day of the week Saturday to the First day of the week Sun-day {due to the resurrection of Christ} until the Roman Catholic church came alone only after Christ and his Apostles died off and completely changed everything into nothing more than an Apostate man made religion, Early Christians started meeting on the First day of the week way after the destruction of Jerusalem due to the very strong persecution of the Roman catholic Church which finally changed the Sabbath from that 7th day of the week {Saturday} to the First day of the week {Sun=day} through a Pagan sun-god worshiper named Constantine March 7TH 321 AD, Constantine’s decree:
"Here is the first Sunday Law in history, a legal enactment by Constantine 1 (reigned "On the Venerable Day of the Sun ("venerabili die Solis" - the sacred day of the Sun) let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country, however, persons engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits; because it often happens that another day is not so suitable for grain-sowing or for vine-planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost - Given the 7th day of March, (A.D. 321), Crispus and Constantine being consuls each of them for the second time." The First Sunday Law of Constantine 1, in "Codex Justinianus," lib. 3, tit. 12, 3; trans. in Phillip Schaff "History of the Christian Church," Vol. 3, p. 380

"The festival of Sunday, like all other festivals, was always only a human ordinance, and it was far from the intentions of the apostles to establish a Divine command in this respect, far from them, and from the early apostolic Church, to transfer the laws of Sabbath to Sunday."Augustus Neander "The History of the Christian Religion and Church." 1843, p.186
"Unquestionably the first law, either ecclesiastical or civil, by which the Sabbath observance of that day (Sunday) is known to have been ordained, is the edict of Constantine, 321 A.D." "Chamber's Encyclopedia," article, "Sabbath"
"This (Constantine's Sunday decree of March, 321) is the 'parent' Sunday law marking it a day of rest and release from labor. For from that time to the present there have been decrees about the observance of Sunday which have profoundly influenced European and American society. When the Church became a part of the State under the Christian emperors, Sunday observance was enforced by civil statutes, and later when the Empire was past, the Church, in the hands of the papacy, enforced it by ecclesiastical and also by civil enactments." Walter W. Hyde, "Paganism to Christianity in the Roman Empire," 1946, p. 261
"Here is the first Sunday Law in history, a legal enactment by Constantine 1 (reigned 306-331): "On the Venerable Day of the Sun ("venerabili die Solis" - the sacred day of the Sun) let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. 321), Crispus and Constantine being consuls each of them for the second time." A comment - Isn’t it interesting that Constantine's decree contained an exemption for farmers? Farmers were to plant on Sunday if needed so that the "bounty of heaven" wouldn't be lost. Work on the Sunday you farmers so we will have lots of food. The Bible on the other hand says to rest on the Sabbath and YHWH will provide extra in response to our obedience. In fact, YHWH instructs Israel to let the land lie fallow every 7th year, another type of Sabbath, and because of their obedience He will make sure that the 6th year produces so much bounty that it will feed them

in the 6th, 7th and 8th years. How true that YHWH’S ways are not the world's ways! Nor are they Constantine’s!
Note also: this decree impacted the "church" but this was not a "church" decree. This was a Roman emperor making a law for the Roman Empire. The Sabbath isn't mentioned at all, rather the day is referred to as the Venerable Day of the Sun ["venerabili die Solis"] - the sacred day of the Sun.
Just to show you where Constantine was coming from, it is reported that the very next day after passing this Sunday law he reportedly passed another law. Any time lightning would strike the imperial palace or any other public building, pagan priests would be consulted as to what the lightning strike meant. They would determine this by checking out the entrails of beasts that were slaughtered to their gods.
Not finished, Constantine passed another law that all of his troops would be paraded out on Sunday and they would recite a prayer, which was composed by the emperor in such a way that it could be said to any "god". That would certainly fit right in today. By the way, the prayer was to be recited facing the "SUN".
"Constantine labored at this time untiringly to unite the worshipers of the old and the new into one religion. All his laws and contrivances are aimed at promoting this amalgamation of religions. He would by all lawful and peaceable means melt together a purified heathenism and a moderated Christianity… Of all his blending and melting together of Christianity and heathenism, none is more easy to see through than this making of his Sunday law. The Christians worshiped their Christ, the heathen their Sun-God… (so they should now be combined)." H.G. Heggtveit, "Illustreret Kirkehistorie," 1895, p. 202
"Remains of the struggle (between the religion of Christianity and the religion of Mithraism) are found in two institutions adopted from its rival by Christianity in the fourth century, the two Mithraic sacred days: December 25, 'dies natalis solis' [birthday of the sun], as the birthday of Jesus, - and Sunday, 'the venerable day of the Sun,' as Constantine called it in his edict of 321." Walter Woodburn Hyde, "Paganism to Christianity in the Roman Empire," p. 60
"These Gentile Christians of Rome and Alexandria began calling the first day of the week 'the Lord's day.' This was not difficult for the pagans of the Roman Empire who were steeped in sun worship to accept, because they (the pagans) referred to their sun-God as their Lord." E.M. Chalmers, "How Sunday Came Into the Christian Church," p. 3
A Comment - Interesting that it appears that John's use of the Lord's Day in Revelation 1:10 while on Patmos may not have had anything to do with Sunday.
"Although almost all churches throughout the world celebrate the sacred mysteries on the Sabbath (Jewish Sabbath) every week, yet the Christians of Alexandria and at Rome, on account of some ancient tradition, have ceased to do this." Socrates Scholasticus, quoted in "Ecclesiastical History," Book 5, chap. 22 [Written shortly after A.D. 439]
A Comment - Despite the decrees of Constantine and the "church" through the Council of Laodicea etc., despite the threat of excommunication, almost all churches with the exceptions of those in Rome and Alexandria were still celebrating the Sabbath of the Bible around 440 A.D.

"Down even to the fifth century the observance of the Jewish Sabbath was continued in the Christian church, but with a rigor and solemnity gradually diminishing until it was wholly discontinued." Lyman Coleman, "Ancient Christianity Exemplified" chap. 26, sec. 2, p. 527
A Comment - As we can see, many were still celebrating the Sabbath well into the 400's. The change to Sunday was really finalized between the fourth and seventh centuries. What happened during that time? The Popes achieved enormous ecclesiastical power. Recorded about 600 A.D. the following quote by Pope Gregory I, named the Great, bishop of Rome, will show you how far things had fallen.
"Gregory, bishop by grace of God to his well-beloved sons, the Roman citizens: It has come to me that certain men of perverse spirit have disseminated among you things depraved and opposed to the holy faith, so that they forbid any thing to be done on the day of the Sabbath. What shall I call them except preachers of antichrist?" Epistles, book 13:1, in Labbe and Cossart, Sacrosanct Concilia, volume 5, column 1511
A Comment - Amazing isn't it? Keep the same Sabbath as Paul, Peter, John, Moses and in fact, as Yahshua /Jesus, and you are a preacher of anti-christ?
"The keeping of the Sunday rest arose from the custom of the people and the constitution of the (Catholic) church… Tertullian was probably the first to refer to a cessation of affairs on the Sun-day; the Council of Laodicea issued the first counciliar legislation for that day; Constantine 1 issued the first civil legislation." Priest Vincent J. Kelly, "Forbidden Sunday and Feast-Day Occupations," p. 203 [A thesis presented to the Catholic University of America]
A Comment - Though Constantine started it and the Council of Laodicea issued the first "church" edict concerning Sunday and the seventh day Sabbath, this wasn't the end of it. Governmental laws governing Sunday were issued in A.D. 365, 386, 389, 458, 460, 554, 589, 681, 768, 789 and onward. Church decrees were issued in A.D. 343, 538, 578, 581, 690 and on and on. Sola Scriptura obviously wasn’t much of factor for the "church" of that day!
The Church made a sacred day of Sunday… largely because it was the weekly festival of the sun; - for it was a definite Christian policy to take over the pagan festivals endeared to the people by tradition, and to give them a Christian significance." Arthur Weigall, "The Paganism in Our Christianity," 1928, p. 145
"Is it not strange that Sunday is almost universally observed when the Sacred Writings do not endorse it? Satan, the great counterfeiter, worked through the 'mystery of iniquity' to introduce a counterfeit sabbath to take the place of the true Sabbath of God. Sunday stands, side by side, with Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Holy (or Maundy) Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Whit-Sunday, Corpus Christi, Assumption Day, All Soul's Day, Christmas Day, and a host of other ecclesiastical feast days to numerous too mention. This array of Roman Catholic feasts and fast days are all man made. None of them bears the divine credentials of the Author of the Inspired Word." M.E. Walsh
Mark 2:28 and Matthew 12:8, "the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath," If Christ is the Lord of the Sabbath and the Scripture clearly states that the Sabbath is the 7TH day of the week in the 4Th Commandment “Deut 5:12-13” Keep the {Sabbath day} to sanctify it, {as the LORD thy

Hold it right their stop!!! Go back to Deut 12 “Keep the {Sabbath day} to sanctify it, {as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee}. 1 John 2:4 KJV clearly states, He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
13 Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
14 {But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God}: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine <font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font>, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.
This would unmistakably make Christ the Lord of the seventh day of the week {Saturday} and not the First day of the week {Sun-day} and that my Brothers and Sisters would technically make Saturday the 7th day of the week {The Lord ’s Day}!!! In the beginning and during the time of Christ their was not such thing as Pagan Roman catholic Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday or Sunday, Their was only day one, day two, day three, day four, day five, day six and day seven! God himself only chose to name one day out of the seven days that he created, that being the Seventh day, and he named that day {THE SABBATH}
God even went so far to call the 7TH Day Sabbath {MY HOLY DAY}
"If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on {my holy day}; and call the {Sabbath} a delight, {the holy of the LORD}, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it." Isaiah 58:13-14
Who or what gave the Roman Catholic Church the Power to create a holyday by making the {First day} of the week {Sun-day} the new Christian Sabbath or the Lords day by declaring or enforcing it to be kept as a Holyday ? Only God almighty can create a Holyday point blank!!! And no where in the Holy Spirit inspired scriptures can we find even a hint of the first day of the week {Sun-day}being called or referred to as a holy day or day of rest to be sanctified.

It was the custom of Christ himself to keep the Seven day Sabbath Luke 4:16 And he {Christ} came to Nazareth , where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
1John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
Where did Christ walk? Into the synagogue {church or temple of that day} to read {teach or Preach} the living word of God!!! Christ the Son of God was {THE} Minister of Ministers! If Christ almighty himself walked into the synagogue {Church or Temple of that day} on the 7th day of the week {Saturday} to teach or Preach the living word of God 2000 years ago, we as Ministers of Christ should be walking into the Church {assembly or local congregation} Today on the 7Th day of the week {The Sabbath} to teach or Preach the living word of God as Christ himself did 2000 years ago, Christ Joshua is the same yester today and forever {Heb 13:8}
In Acts 20 verse 7, we have been taught by our Apostate church system and false prophet church leaders that the Apostles came together on the {First day} of the week {Sun-day} for the {Lord’s Supper} and that the apostle Paul preached until midnight because he was leaving the next morning! Therefore justifying their First day of the week Pagan Catholic {Sun-day} as their new Christian Sabbath {Day of Rest and Worship} or Lord’s Day!
Lets us go to the scripture, Acts 20 verse 7 KJV And upon the first {day} of the week, when the disciples came together to {break bread}, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
If you have an Authorized King James Version Bible you will notice the word {Day} is in italics, which simply means it dose not belong their and it was added by the translators themselves due to the fact that it dose not come from the original Greek manuscripts or is not a literal translation of the original tongue or language! {First day of the week} is NO WHERE found in the original Greek manuscripts which the NT was first written in!
The correct translation of the original Greek manuscripts would be {this} from the greek "mia twn sabbatwn", {literally reads or renders} = {"first of weekly Sabbath"}. And not the first {Day} of the week!
Please don’t believe me, but show yourself approved onto God by looking these things up and studying them for yourselves! Rightly dividing the word of truth! {2 Tim 2:15}.
And if you do a deep study on it as you should on every subject in the bible, you will find that the meeting on that day was about the coming of Pentecost, and it was the first weekly {Sabbath} OF 7 WEEKLY SABBATHS LEADING UP TO THE DAY OF PENTECOST, 7 times 7 = 49 and the next day would be the 50TH Day meaning The day of Pentecost! So it was {the First Sabbath of Seven Sabbaths} That they were gathered together on in Acts 20:7 for a fellowship meal {Not the Lords Supper} because the apostle Paul was leaving the next day and he wanted to eat and fellowship with his brethren before he left, And to address the coming of Pentecost. Nothing more!!!
Conclusion
So basically we find in the Bible that the Apostles as well as the rest of the first century Christians kept the true biblical Sabbath or 4th command, and its an historical fact that the day of rest and worship was not changed until way after Christ and his Apostles died off and the RCC took over, and its another historical fact that if it wasn’t for the Roman Catholic Church changing the true day of rest and worship from the 7th day Saturday to the first day Sun-day Sun-day through emperor Constantine on march 7th 321 AD we would {all} still be keeping the true 7th day Biblical Sabbath.
Yours in Messiah

Did you realize that the first day that Adam spent on this planet was spent in fellowship with God? Imagine the love and joy that was shared between the Man and his Creator as they fellowshipped together for the first time. That day was the seventh day of creation. God wants mankind to remember that day because He wants to bring us back into perfect fellowship with Him. Since the day of man’s rebellion God has worked consistently to bring Adam's race back into the sweet fellowship of that blessed seventh day. This is the goal of the plan of salvation. This restoration is hope of Christ’s death on the cross. Your Heavenly Father longs to renew the fellowship of that first seventh day. That is the significance of its holiness. The seventh day points back to creation and forward to the Day of the Lord. It is a bridge that spans the millennia between Adam's broken fellowship and our future glory. The Sabbath was a special sign to Israel because it was a promise of the rest waited for them in the Promised Land. Through disbelief they never entered that rest. (Hebrews 4:6) The Sabbath to the Christian is an even greater sign. It is a promise of eternal rest with God.
Therefore, since a promise remains of entering his rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. Hebrews 4:1
God, through Christ, created the Sabbath day on the seventh day of Creation by His blessing, resting and setting apart of that day. As this day was created for the benefit of mankind, God commanded man to observe the day by rest after his own example. Later, a written version of the Sabbath commandment was included in the Ten Commandments. At different times throughout the recorded history of Israel, the Sabbath was profaned and idolatry flourished. Periods of Sabbath indifference and apostasy were followed by periods of punishment and exile. When Jesus Christ came both he and his disciples kept the Sabbath. The Lord Jesus, perceiving man's misconception of his Divine Purpose, categorically denied any intention of destroying the Law. Foreseeing the coming lawlessness, he clearly reproved anyone who "breaks one of the least of the commandments, and teaches men so". This is why Christians should keep His Sabbath day holy.

"or be quite!!!"
Careful, your hypocrisy is showing. Of course you don't want to follow the guidelines of the forum. You apparently think you're above them. Ironically you do this while attempting to ensnare others in your pathetic legalism.
In his rebuke of the legalistic Pharisees Jesus is reported to have said: "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." Mark 2:27
The writer of Gal 4:8-11 rebukes the Galatians for observing special days, months, seasons, and years. The Galatians were either still observing pagan 'holy days' or allowing the past emphasis on special days in paganism to carry over into their Christian practice abandoning the liberty from those things provided by Christianity.
In either case the importance attributed to 'days','months', or 'years' is not greater than the needs of the individual, not even the Sabbath, according to what Jesus says in Mark anyway.
Legalism, control, manipulation, and an incorrect emphasis on ritualism rather than human needs is what I get out of your diatribe.

Are you a man??? if so than {the Sabbath was made for you}! and you are commanded to keep it in the 4th commandment as did Christ himself and his Apostles as well as all first century Christians. not the Roman Catholic Pagan Sun-day! unless you are either Roman Catholic or a Pagan Sun-god worshiper!!! The Son of man is the Lord{Master} of the Sabbath = The 7th day of the week not the first!!! and he expects his true followers to be keeping his true 7th day Sabbath until he returns! please see Matthew 24:20!

The Experience of Observing Shabbat
Shabbat Requires Community
For the deed to be effective, it must not remain that of an individual but must become that of a community. Since the Sabbath, like any other mitzvah, is a deed, requiring rest for the body as well as for the soul, the economic order is of the utmost relevance even for the purely religious significance of the day. The most conducive habitat for the Sabbath is, therefore, a society whose economic and industrial activities are at a standstill on that day. The Sabbath is most naturally at home in such a society.
Shabbat Observance Is Its Own Reward
There is perhaps no more oppressive, though necessary, taskmaster in our lives than the clock. A day on which I didn't know and didn't care what time it was would be a day of liberation for me.
When the Torah commands us not to light a fire on the Sabbath, one commentator goes beyond the literal meaning of those words and takes them to refer to fires of anger and jealousy. Don't shout on the Sabbath, he advises us. Don't argue or get into fights. Don't raise your voice. That violates the Sabbath rest as much as actually starting a fire does.
I would like to think that Sabbath observance, like virtue, is its own reward, that it is worth doing not because it makes you a better worker, but because it makes you a better human being in those parts of your life that have nothing to do with work.
Shabbat is for Enjoying--not Exploiting--the World
The root of the word "Shabbat" means to "cease" or "desist." To observe Shabbat means to cease our work life and break our daily routine every seventh day, making that day holy. Shabbat is to be a day of enjoying the world rather that doing battle with it; a day of relaxation rather than struggle, a time to live in harmony rather than to achieve domination.
We are Slaves to Work
Part of each Shabbat's celebration is based on our admitting that we are still slaves to work, oppressed today by the fast pace of our work lives and the pressures of living in a highly achievement-oriented society. Our taskmasters today may be electronic rather than human, tempting us rather than whipping us to work just a little faster and harder. Our ability to leave them behind once a week is our proclamation of freedom, a true cause for celebration.
Rest from Unrest: Shabbat as Protest against Life's Aimlessness
If the Sabbath is to have any significance it must confront one of modern man's greatest curses, his internal and external unrest. This unrest arises from the fact that today he leads a life without goals and, as a consequence, that he is involved in competition without end.
I therefore view the Sabbath as potentially an enormous relief from, and a protest against, these basic causes of unrest. Once a week it provides us with an opportunity to address ourselves to the who-ness rather than the what-ness of life, to persons rather than things, to creation and our part in it, to society and its needs, to ourselves as individuals and yet as social beings.

"Christ became our Passover"(not easter), we are saved by His blood.
"Christ is our Sabbath", we rest in Him.
,....not a day of the week, not once a week, not an hour a week, but ALL WEEK.
Fulfillment.
(not to mention the missing days (11) at the advent of the Gregorian calendar. You'd have to do a little math to get the real Sabbath day that the Hebrews considered the 7th. Not today's Sunday, nor Saturday.)

your beliefs are honerable but misguided i am afraid.
guided by the same teaching that you are trying to refute.
a literal interpretation just seperates people.
christ seperated from no one.
he was a friend to all.
his teachings were adressing this very subject.
seperation due to the teachings of men.
you say that what you are doing is just taking the bible for what it says.
are you really?
what you are really doing is pointing the finger at others and saying i am right and you are wrong.
do you really believe that what you are saying is not an interpretation?
if you do not then you are the first person in christian history that is able to reconcile science with a literal interpretation of scripture.
please show me how science backs up the story of adam and eve.
you take everything the bible says at face value and laugh in the face of science.
science is the starting point, not the bible.
until you get a handle on that, you will never understand what the bible is trying to say to you.
a crossroads will come for you called.
when it does you will not know where to turn. you have rejected all other bodies of knowledge.
science has already proven your approach to scripture will not lead to the truth and yet you ignore it.
what kind of seeker after truth are you?
just like the rest i would imagine.
you all hang on to your comfort zone even when the truth demands otherwise.
science and religion can be reconciled.
you must abandon the whole way of thinking not just the teachings of catholocism.
their whole way of thinking is designed to keep people in the dark.
you must go a step further called.
take the leap.

called,
You have not addressed the problem of which calendar to use to find out which day is which. The Gregorian calendar is a product of the Roman Catholic Church. The Pope removed 10 days in the calendar during the 1500s. So I hope you can see that which day is called the "sabbath" is for all intents and purpose arbitrary.
From the Explanatory Supplement to the Astronomical Almanac, P. Kenneth Seidelmann, editor.
"Because calendars are created to serve societal needs, the question of a calendar's accuracy is usually misleading or misguided. A calendar that is based on a fixed set of rules is accurate if the rules are consistently applied. For calendars that attempt to replicate astronomical cycles, one can ask how accurately the cycles are replicated. However, astronomical cycles are not absolutely constant, and they are not known exactly. In the long term, only a purely observational calendar maintains synchrony with astronomical phenomena. However, an observational calendar exhibits short-term uncertainty, because the natural phenomena are complex and the observations are subject to error."

All of this incredible significance given to something as arbitrary as which 'day' is called what is an uninformed exercise in futility.

I understand what you’re saying! But you must understand that during this day and age we are using the Pagan Catholic calendar! And The Jews in Israel still observe Saturday according to our catholic calendar as their 7th day Sabbath and Christians of Christendom observe the first day of the week sun-day simply because it was chosen by the Catholic Church in the third century and literally forced on the so called Church at large! I don’t know about you or anyone else but ill follow the Jews in this matter! The Catholic Church Hated the Jews and changed everything that was Jewish in First century Christianity from Baptism to Passover!!! Now if you guys want to follow the Roman Catholic Church in these matters by all means go with your heart but if you truly want to follow just what Christ and his 12 followed than you would do things a lot differently! The worldly denominational church system called Christendom is nothing more than the daughters of the Great Whore better known as the RCC! The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, you guys bow down and keep her chosen day of rest and worship, and you celebrate her Apostate Pagan so called Holydays and copy her Trinitarian baptism that was never ever practiced in the First century, among many other things! You might as well start a nice crispy bond fire and throw all your new born children into it!!! I mean if you want to practice paganism you might as well do it right wouldn’t you think? Just how many of you will celebrate eastern this year? Do you realize that we are commanded to keep the NT Passover?

I would like now to draw your attention to Matthew 24:20-22
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the {sabbath day}:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, {such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be}.
22 {And except those days should be shortened}, {there should no flesh be saved}: but for the {elect's sake} {those days shall be shortened}.
Have you ever {truly studied} these 3 scriptures and do you {actually realize} {just what they are truly saying to you and I or just what they are trying to warn us of}????????????
Many Christians today truly believe with all their hearts that this prophecy has been fulfilled in 70AD, during the destruction of Jerusalem !
Even if Mat 24:20 was talking about the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD, concerning the flight in the winter and the keeping of the Sabbath Day as many Professing Christians believe and many well known and highly respected Church leaders teach today, That would mean that {Christ himself} was still telling his Apostles that he expected them to still be keeping the {7th Day Sabbath = {The Fourth commandment} 70 Years after his death and resurrection! And if this is true than it would also mean that the {true Sabbath} Was never ever changed from the 7th Day of the week Saturday to the First day of the week Sun-day {due to the resurrection of Christ} until the Roman Catholic church came along, only after Christ and his Apostles died off and completely changed everything into nothing more than an Apostate man made religion,

rest.
the sabbath has so much meaning called.
consider this for a moment.
god created everything and then rested.
we are to do what god did, correct?
can we not be at constant rest by trusting god in all things?
the day is not so important as is the concept.
i argued doctrine with people for years it doesn't do any good.
doctrine does nothing to persude people.
it is the life of christ that persuades not his doctrine.
live the sabbath don't argue about it.
if you will do this people will notice.
you can see how people react to what you are doing.
right or wrong doesn't matter.
it is your delivery that will persuade.
your constant assault on people is very offensive.
i know that you are going to say that christ was the same way.
was he?
his critics searched him out, not the other way around.
maybe you should nail your thesis to the vatican door?

That’s the trouble with todays so called liberated Christianity, they say doctrine doesn’t matter as long as we all get along sing the same songs and love each other! Well I believe that Christ and his Apostles would most definitely disagree with you here since they was constantly beaten or put in prison or jail because of their doctrine! The people of the first century loved Christ Doctrine so much they nailed him to a tree! They loved Steven’s doctrine so much the stoned him to death while Paul, Saul at the time watched, they loved Peters doctrine so much they crucified him upside down, they loved Paul’s doctrine so much they chopped his head off, and the list goes on and on and on for any true Brother or Sister who ever took a true stand for the living word of God and their witness for Christ! The Apostle John saw the souls of those who were beheaded for the word of God and the testimony which they held for Christ! I guess their doctrine wasn’t so popular either right? But so called Christians today don’t want to take up their own cross and suffer for the cause of Christ! They don’t want to leave their little comfort zones, or God forbid they should offend someone with their Doctrine!!! I mean they didn’t want to hear it 2000 years ago so they damned sure don’t want to hear it today right my Brother! So why bother even warning people that their going to a place like the lake of fire if they don’t get themselves together according to the word of God as it is written before they close their eyes for the last time! We wouldn’t dare want to upset people with the Truth would we? I mean after all as long as we love each other that’s all that counts right??? Love Peace and Hair grease My Brother

Come on man please really think about just what you’re saying here! Christ and his Apostles gave up their very life’s to bring you and I the doctrine that we as true followers of Christ and men of God are to pass on to everyone we come in contact with to the ends off the earth! Christ never said that we would be popular with the world in doing so! In fact he said THE WHOLE WORLD WILL HATE YOU FOR MY NAMES SAKE! So if people are alright and comfortable with the doctrine your Preaching in your Ministry than Brother let me tell your that your damn sure preaching the Wrong doctrine!!! Doctrine is everything! You and everyone else need to do a true Biblical study on doctrine and see just what the word of God truly has to say about it! If people are not trying to literally punch you in the face and burn your church to the ground something is really really wrong with your Doctrine brother!

don't listen to the scientists and religionists tell you otherwise.
keeping us in the dark about these things is just a part of the control factor.

Sorry I somewhat disagree,. In order for religion and science to be reconciled, religion must first become worldly or science must become religious their really is no middle ground here Brother without compromise! You may not hold the position I do but you have to agree and if you really want to be truthful about it you would have to admit that we are not practicing the same Christianity today that was birthed out of the book of Acts 2000 years ago today, infect its night and day difference! There are so many different teachings and Practices in today’s so called Churches that they are divided into literally thousand of different groups each claiming to hold the ultimate truth, that has nothing whatsoever to do with first century Christianity! People call me a literalist among many other things! But if we all took the bible at face value at least we would be on the same page! According to the Apostle Paul we all should be believing and teaching the same exact thing like it was in the First century church, please check out 1 Cor 1:10 and 12:25, Christianity today is a joke, just look at us here on factnet or any other message board on the internet for that matter! We are truly in the last days and the scriptures clearly tell us that things will only get worst and that true Christians will suffer more and more at the hands of religious people most of all! And no one wants to hear these things but someone has to stand as a light in all this darkness! It all comes down to this brother, either we follow exactly what the bible says word for word and get back to the basics of first century Christianity or we follow this Screwed up man made worldly religious so called Church system!

you think you know what christ taught but you don't, you are getting it wrong.
you are creating another catholic church in your own home.
you have set yourself up as the new pope.
you alone know the truth.
isn't that what the pope says?
science and religion can be reconciled.
would jesus say, ignore the facts (truth)?
the manipulation of scripture was done in order to hide the truth from the general public.
the truth is far from where you are at johnny.
i don't do this with just anyone johnny but i think you are sincere in your search, just misguided.
i totally understand your position but you are just starting another cult.
i am begging you to listen to me.
i wish someone would.
i am not advocating science over god.
i am convinced that the two can be reconciled.
if they cannot then neither can the existence of god be reconciled in the human mind.
if you really want to know what jesus said to his apostles in private then you must be open to the truth no matter where it comes from.

take a look at this thread.
some of it may be difficult to understand but i think you are smart enough to get the picture.

I'm curious about the conflict of these two statements. In the first quote, you advocate a literal reading of your bible. In the second quote, you advocate testing and observing a course of action. So which is it?
Do you advocate doing exactly what the text says OR having each person test the text within their own experiences to determine what to do.

Brother Please think about this ok! Weather on a Jewish calendar or a catholic Roman Catholic gentile calendar 24 hours is still 24 hours, a day is still a day, 7 days = one week no matter how you look at it you can’t get around this fact! Now if you take a Saturday on your calendar and times it by 7 you will have 49 days, landing on a Saturday, add one day and you will come up with Pentecost Sunday the 50th day! If Christ died on Sunday and you count exactly 50 days from that Sunday you will land on a Monday which could not be!!!
And if you say that Saturday is not the 7th day, then that would mean that Sunday is not the First day! It would also mean that all the Jews in Israel have been keeping the wrong day for their Sabbath all these years! Do you truly expect me to believe that??? Let’s try to make sense here ok!

Well then you should stop this fruitless attempt to assign particular significance to a certain day on the calender.
You see called, when you start considering 'numbers' and 'days' as more significant than the needs of living breathing people you've pretty much 'missed the point'.

There are seven days in a week.
Assume the world got together and made a resolution to add 10 days to the current calendar.
Assume today is the day of the change and that it is Saturday (prior to the change).
If today was Saturday before the change, then after the change it would become Tuesday.
So, do you
1. observe Sabbath on the original day that was Saturday but is now Tuesday?
OR
2. still observe Sabbath on Saturday, even though it used to be Wednesday?
What would Jesus do?
Face it called, you are deciding which day to observe as your Sabbath based on a calendar that was designed by man and not God.

Hello called
Shabbat is celebrated from Friday to Saturday, sunset to sunset. As you say, we’ve kept the tradition of recognizing the Sabbath for at least 3000 years. Your attempt to get a consensus about which particular week day is the “TRUE” Shabbat is really meaningless. First, many people already think Jews are wrong about their beliefs. Our timing and methods of celebrating Shabbat is just another one to toss on the pile. Second, since Christians don’t actually celebrate the Sabbath, the particular day that Judaism recognizes it on, is not important to them. In summary, for the people that celebrate Shabbat, we know which day it’s on and for the people that don’t celebrate Shabbat, they don’t care which day it’s on.
When G-d created the universe, it doesn’t mention Tuesday or any other particular day of the week. It just says “First day, second day, etc.”. If a person was on a desert island, resting on every 7th day is sufficient to emulate G-d’s example.
I’ve seen some articles discussing the Sabbath and the week as one proof of G-d. Most measurements of time reference an astronomical event, such as month, day, and year. Only a week has no astronomical reference. Where did it come from? It bears no reference to anatomy (such as base 10 due to number of fingers) or astronomy. It is a construct of men that was given to us by G-d. He laid out the concept of six days of work and one day of rest and contemplation.

I am a Christian that believes in keeping the Sabbath! 99.9% of other Christians will not keep the Sabbath because they have some sick idea that Christianity is a gentile religion! And what nothing whatsoever to do with Jewish practices, When the NT bible makes it abundantly clear that the first Christians were Jews and that the Gentiles were only grafted unto the Jewish tree Israel! I guess Romans CH 11 is missing in all their Bibles! It’s a Shame!!! Its literally blows my mind that they will not keep the fourth commandment written with the finger of God Himself but have no problem whatsoever keeping one of the 613 laws of mosses by tithing in a man made Gentile church system called Christendom! What a joke and dabble standard! They will not keep the NT Passover that is commanded us Christians by the Apostle Paul himself in 1 cor 5:7- but they have no problem bowing down to the RCC by keeping Pagan Easter Sunday
Anyway thanks again

I doubt that the Jews are faithfully following the same calendar that the Israelites did. But so what?
Scripture tells us .... Romans 14:6 Those who have a special day for worshiping the Lord are trying to honor him.
Therefore .... Romans 14:4 Who are you to condemn God's servants? They are responsible to the Lord, so let him tell them whether they are right or wrong. The Lord's power will help them do as they should.

Higher than a WEEKLY SABBATH (...REST).

Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the
love of Christ? [shall] tribulation,

CHRIST taught much here.

Anyone obsessed with rituals, rites, feasts, days, or religious laws in the way you and the way you want others to be are not concerned with the welfare or wellbeing of other people as much as you simply want to control them and what they think.
Perhaps you should reorder your priorities. You fancy yourself as a representative of some awesome being that can speak things into existence; I understand how that goes to some peoples heads.
Legalism is a horrible harness that people put on other people to control them. Claiming to represent god they reduce the concept of god from creator to petty legislator and overbearing social director.

I can truly see you know nothing about my God or the NT Bible itself! Because if you did you would know that the Bible is a hand book of rules and regulations to live by, but watered down candy coated Christianity don’t teach that from behind the pulpits today! That’s why you have millions and millions of so called Christians going straight to hell in a hand basked! Because they will only believe what their itching ears want to hear! So they will get the reward they deserve

hardbones,
"Well said. That has got to be the most spiritual thing I have ever read on this board. I'm going to write that down and take it home with me."
Thanks. I have no problem with you quoting me as long as you follow it with: A Secular Humanist wrote that b.t.w.
Although I certainly understand why you would consider it 'spiritual' and in one sense of the word it is, it is however a 'humanist' viewpoint that considers the needs of humans over the needs, laws, and demands that some claim are of 'divine' origin.
It is astounding that people would think that a being who they claim created and sustains the entire universe is a jealous petty tyrant who demands the observance of specific days, modes of dress, and personal grooming to 'glorify' it. Contemplate that for a moment. It's a ludicrous thought. Religious rites and laws are obviously the work of manipulative power hungry human beings and not the work of an ultimate intelligence. It is ridiculous to say the least.
Religious cults manipulate their members by using the false authority that the members themselves have bestowed upon their leaders. They see the leader's authority as 'god by proxy'. Worship on day X! God says so! Give us 10% of your income as a tithe and give us even more as a sacrificial offering. God says so! Dress in this way! God says so!
Look at the highly legalistic Muslims. Men can't shave, they have to roll their pants legs up several inches, women have to be treated like dangerous animals, pray five times a day, etc., etc., etc. Islam brags that it controls every aspect of a persons life from what he thinks to how he defecates. The most intellectually insulting thing about it is that these codes are promoted as the product of a supreme being.

Called, there are many creation myths. Many of them involve earth, water, fire, and air. When you say "God said" you are really quoting the author (the human being that actually wrote it down) of the book of Genesis and the people who revised it (documents were reproduced by hand, See Misquoting Jesus: The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why by Bart D. Ehrman) throughout history. The book of Genesis is no more an authority on creation than the Hindu Vedas, the Koran, or the bad sci-fi tales of Scientology (what an ironic moniker, LRH had a sense of humor anyway)
The earth (dirt) is one of the four primal elements that primitive man believed comprised the world. I'm not surprised by its use in a creation myth. Are you?
Also the fact that we are made of earth is an simple logical conclusion based on the fact that what we eat comes from the earth. Turnips are made of dirt for that matter. Animals are made of dirt because they are made up of what they eat; things from the earth. Plants are made of 'dirt' (an incredible over simplification b.t.w.) Use you common sense and think it out for yourself instead of accepting without challenge what you read in that book.
I am always a bit taken back by religious folks who believe humans are so incredibly stupid that they need divine intervention to know how to act. Do you honestly think that you couldn't figure out that killing other people is a bad thing on your own? Are you so disconnected from the people around you that you think no one could figure out stealing was a bad thing to do without some mystical experience? The opinion of mankind that is expressed by religious people is often a low one of a mindless knuckle dragging drooling brute that has to be told what hand to wipe his butt with.
A healthy human being has empathy for his fellow man and understands others have the same basic needs and feelings as himself. This realization is about all you need to guide your interaction with other people. That and your brain.
We need not get a big head about it but the truth be told we are made up of elements that were formed in the hearts of stars. We share molecules with our neighbors, with our dogs, and our house plants. The apple I just ate was grown in an orchard. I now have the molecules that the apple tree pulled from the earth to make the apple in my body. Soon my body will build living cells using material from that apple which is really the air, water, and 'dirt' from that orchard, wherever it is. It becomes me, I become it, we're all one big family... Oh, sorry, I drifted off. I breath in oxygen molecules created by that potted plant over there. It takes in the carbon dioxide I breath out. We actually exchange the basic building blocks of life. Is that all that difficult to see?
I'm sorry called, I really can't continue this. My frustration with folks like you and jb is that you choose to ignore anything that conflicts with your world view, refuse to use your common sense, and see 'foolishness' as a 'godly' communication medium. That and your excessive use of punctuation is distressing. (It was a joke son, a joke. F.L.)
What browser do you use? Try Firefox. Go to their extensions page. Download an extension called "Performancing". Its a blog editor with all sorts of good stuff. It is incredibly useful because it adds things like spell check to any dialog box you type into on the web. It isn't that I think you are incomprehensible sometimes but I know a lot of people are frustrated with the posting mechanism of this board and Performancing helps a great deal.

Than explain to me Matthew 24:20 in detail please!!!
Christ is telling his 12 to pray that their flight be neither in the winter nor on the Sabbath day!!! Their was only one {Sabbath day} 2000 years! And this flight Christ is talking about is a future event during the Great tribulation, some say this flight already took place 70AD, I do not agree, but even if it did, that would mean that Christ almighty was expecting his followers to be keeping the 7th day Sabbath when this future event takes place!!! That’s not pride that’s fact!!!

the first thing i have to do is buy into the idea that you have to take scripture literally.
what is the lesson that we should take away from this?

You don't have to do anything in this world you don’t want to, but if you want to keep the commands of Yahweh and follow the example that Yahshua Ha Messiah and his chosen left for us in the scriptures, than you will most definitely keep the10 commandments including the 4th If you say you know him and keep not his commands you’re a lair and the truth {which is Christ}={The Word of God} is not in you! And if any man has not the Spirit of Christ he is none of his, point blank!!! we most follow only what’s written and keep pure the faith that was once delivered to the saints, or we might as well join the worldly Church system and do what ever the hell we want to do, as is done in Christendom, the synagogue of Satan! Everyone is getting slain in the spirit when this was never recorded in scripture! Its ok to celebrate Roman catholic Easter instead of the Passover! Its ok for women to cut off their hair {The glory that was given them to serve as a covering! Come as you are and stay as you are God understands!!! It’s ok to accept openly active gays and lesbians in your Church membership, God don’t discriminate right! And the list goes on and on and on!!! There is no end to it! We do NOT Practice first century Christianity today! People are going to Church to worship another Christ and hear another gospel that’s going to send them straight to Hell, but no body cares, And NO One will listen to just what the B.I.B.L.E actually says and obey it! Just the fact that Christendom is divided into about 3000 different Sects and denominations each one claiming to be holding the ultimate true proves its straight from Hell! i agree that he meant what he said.
the question is: what did he say exactly?
do you know what he told his apostles in secret?
he spoke to them differently than he spoke to the rest.
what did he say to them?
why did he speak in parables?
do you know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven?
it is time you see it called.
you only think you know what jesus taught.
you are only skimming the surface.
what you are reading is what the rest of the crowd got, parables.
if you really want to know what he was teaching you are going to have to dig deeper than that.

Your interpretation of Matthew 24:20 goes beyond what is clearly written.
In addition you are ignoring ...
Col 2:16 So don't let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new-moon ceremonies or Sabbaths.
AND
Rom 14:4-6 Who are you to condemn God's servants? They are responsible to the Lord, so let him tell them whether they are right or wrong. The Lord's power will help them do as they should. In the same way, some think one day is more holy than another day, while others think every day is alike. Each person should have a personal conviction about this matter. Those who have a special day for worshiping the Lord are trying to honor him. Those who eat all kinds of food do so to honor the Lord, since they give thanks to God before eating. And those who won't eat everything also want to please the Lord and give thanks to God.
You are just like the ones you speak out against. Like those who teach that Christians must tithe. You pull something out of context, ignore anything in scripture that contradicts, add your own interpretation and then judge those who have a different revelation.
God has clearly told you that you are not to judge his servants based on which day they choose to observe to honor Him. Yet, you continue to do so. That's pride.

Ok marta
I can see where your coming from with these scriptures! But maybe its you that’s taking scripture out of context, take Col 2:16 So don't let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new-moon ceremonies or Sabbaths. Now if you take that literally as everyone tells me, you really have a huge problem! don't let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain{{{holy days}}} {lets take this scripture apart and see what we have ok} lets start with food or drink! We know that the clean and unclean food laws defenately was abolished at the cross{TREE}Right!!! Gen 9:1-3
1And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. 2And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. 3Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
1 Tim 4:1-6 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
Rom 14:1 If there is someone {{{whose faith is weak}}}, be kind and receive him. Do not argue about what he thinks. 2 One man he may eat anything. Another man {{{with weak faith}}} eats only vegetables.
It is clear that we are to be kind to the Brother or Sister with weak faith and not argue with him or her about it, that would only lead to more ungodliness, but it does not say we are not to tell that Brother or Sister the truth about it! Weather they want to accept it or not is on them, but it’s our job to tell them the truth!!! It is also very clear according to these scripture that the only reason that Brother or Sister is eating only vegetables in the first place is because his or her faith is {{{WEAK}}},
1 Tim 4: 6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

Now lets talk about celebrating certain holy days!!!! It is clear that only god himself can create a Holy day! The bible is also 100% clear that we as Christians are to stay the Hell away from Paganism
Jeremiah 10
1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
6Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
7Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
8But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.
Col 2:5-8
5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Just to name a few, but I hope you get the picture!!!
Now do you truly believe that we are not to judge, when professing Christians are keeping Roman Catholic Easter over the Biblical NT Passover? Or Christmas a Holy day that was birthed out of the paganism of the RCC! Dec 25th the birth day of Sun-gods!!! And so on and so on, Dose the same Bible that clearly warns us to stay the hell away from Paganism turn right around and say let no man judge you if you want to join in and practice it???????????? I DON”T THINK SO!!!
This scripture is not saying that at all, God never gave the Roman Catholic Church or no other man made religious organization on the face of the earth for that matter the power to create a so called Holy day! God is saying let no man judge you for keeping the Holy days he created, or the high Sabbaths which are feast or Holy days!!!

In Matthew 24:20 Jesus said, "And pray that your flight will not be in winter or on the Sabbath."
Do you want me to go beyond what is written and add my own interpretation?
Perhaps he was concerned for legalists like you who would refuse to flee if it was the Sabbath.
I doubt He was telling His disciples that they could not flee if it was the Sabbath. Why? Because Jesus was not a legalist. If you remember, the Pharisees rebuked Jesus for healing people on the Sabbath. See, Jesus placed a higher value on people. While religious hypocrites like the Pharisees placed a higher value on their rules and laws.

Ezekiel: The calendar change effected by Rome's institution of the Gregorian calendar altered the <u>dates</u> of the month, but did NOT alter the <u>days</u> of the week. It's just like leap year: just because dates get added or taken away (e.g., Feb. 29) does not mean we have disrupted of the days of the week, and neither did they. Lack of leap years hitherto was actually the reason they had to do it.
Daniel the prophet predicted that men would try to change the Bible Sabbath (Dan. 7:25). The Antichrist spirit would "think to change times and laws." The Sabbath is the only commandment in the decalogue that concerns time. Here's how that prophecy has now worked out:
Two billion Christians observe a false sabbath the day after (Sunday), and one billion-plus Muslims observe a false sabbath the day before (Friday). That is more than half of the entire world. Only a few million Jews and a handful of Christian groups observe the day in between, which is the true Sabbath! Even though Sabbath-keeping is in no way salvific, it is still the truth of God. It is therefore a matter of pressing concern for all those who desire to "keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus Christ" (Yahshua Messiah) - Rev. 12:17/14:12
"There remaineth therefore a sabbatismos to the people of God." - Heb. 4:9

You have no intention whatsoever in this world of doing what the Bible actually says to do, or not do what it says not to do! Than you have the nerve to get smart with someone who actually takes Gods word seriously and keeps his commandments! That’s real Christian of you! By Their Fruits Ye Shall Know Them! Matthew 12:33-37 "A tree is identified by its fruit. Make a tree good, and its fruit will be good. Make a tree bad, and its fruit will be bad. You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good words from a good heart, and an evil person produces evil words from an evil heart. And I tell you this, that you must give an account on judgment day of every idle word you speak. The words you say now reflect your fate then; either you will be justified by them or you will be condemned."

OK, let's.
If you take your Sabbath so seriously, how is it that you come onto this forum ... on your Sabbath ... and proceed to spew out all kinds of hate towards anyone who does not see eye to eye with you on how Christians should observe the Sabbath.
It is not enough to speak out in love for what you believe to be true .... no, you become judge and jury for everyone here. If we don't agree with you then we surely don't have any desire to serve God ... if we don't observe the Sabbath as you teach then surely we must all be headed to hell.
You are just like the Christians I know who go to church in the morning and then spend the rest of the day acting like the devil.
Talk about hypocricy.

The Sabbath is just one subject of many I have touched bases on since I started posting on factnet over a year ago! Seems the people here and world wide today have a real problem with first century Christianity point blank! You guys have no intention of practicing just what was practiced when Christ and his 12 were alive, yet everyone calls themselves Christians and when someone like me comes along and shines a light on that fact everyone gets offended! Well either you’re true Christians or not! And true Christians practice the exact same thing that was practiced 2000 years by the apostles themselves! Christ is the same yesterday today and forever and so is the living word of God! Everyone here believes that they are Holy Spirit filled! The Holy Spirits job is to convict us of sin and to let us know if were not living right according to the word of God as it is written Point blank, you do not see that kind of conviction here at all but instead you have a pouch of confused people coming against just what is written word for word! Can’t you admit this? Isn’t it about time that all who calls themselves true Christians start getting back to what was originally taught and practiced in the first century church or is that just a joke today?

The Holy Spirits job is to convict us of sin and to let us know if were not living right according to the word of God ....
If you believe that, why not REST and let Him do His job?
Rom 14:4-6 Who are you to condemn God's servants? They are responsible to the Lord, so let him tell them whether they are right or wrong. The Lord's power will help them do as they should. In the same way, some think one day is more holy than another day, while others think every day is alike. Each person should have a personal conviction about this matter. Those who have a special day for worshiping the Lord are trying to honor him.

First of all thanks for sharing that with me, but I do not believe you understand! I do not keep the SABBATH AS IF I AM UNDER SOME Jewish law or something! I simply hold it as my day of rest, worship and study!, I mean am sure you would agree that were not going to get stoned for picking up sticks on the Sabbath any longer! So I see nothing wrong with coming on the computer on that day! I strongly feel that the NT day of rest and worship was never changed from the 7th day of the week to the First do to the resurrection of Christ! I don’t expect you to understand anything about NT Teaching even though you may know more than me! Anyway thanks again

IF a person wants to rest on a certain day as a form of worship to God, who am I to judge them? Yet, if they judge me because I do not, I question that.
I work on both Sunday and Saturday. So do police officers, prison staff, doctors/ER staff, restaurant workers, hotel staff, etc... so on and so forth. If one would even go so far as to say these people are sinning, they should not partake of any of these services ever, as they are "sinners".
"You make Christianity sound totally insane, that the vast majority of its practitioners are going to hell for their beliefs."
Sadly, some Christians consign not only the vast majority of humanity to eternal torment, but also most believers and it usually boils down to: the only people that will make it to heaven are those that believe the same things as the person making the statement. This, to me, is an indication of a cult or cult like mentalility.

You hit the nail right on the head!!! According to what’s written in that book called the Bible we can definitely assume that the vast majority of its practitioners are going to hell for their beliefs." We are commanded to not only believe that gospel but obey it with our whole heart, people don’t want to hear that word {OBEY} today! It’s a dirty word that hurts their ears, ands makes them rebel even more, This watered down candy coated so called Christianity we have today is a far cry from the True faith that was once delivered to the saints 2000 years ago!!! BUT NO ONE ON THIS BOARD HAS THE GUTS ENOUGH TO ADMITE THAT!!! We are not practicing the true Christianity that was birthed out of the book of acts on the day of Pentecost 2000 years ago in anyway shape or forum!

Someone asked me in the following tread if I was a Sabbath Keeper.
http://www.factnet.org/discus/messages/3/25672.html?1167881456
This was my answer in my post 286.
As far as I know the New Testament Christians use to try to rest on Saturdays instead of Sundays and this was changed by the Catholic church.
I tried to rest one day per week, Saturday is a good day do this however this might not be practical for some people like doctors and nurses. I believe that God made the sabbath for man and not man for the sabbath.
I believe that it is very important for our health to rest at least one day per week however some people like nurses in the hospitals can not rest every Saturday so to rest another day in the week will be fine in such cases.
Read Mark 2:27-28

The Resurrection Was Not on Sunday
A careful reading of the related scriptures (Matthew 28:1, Mark16:2,9; Luke 24:1, John 20:1,19) which were already discussed above shows that Jesus was already resurrected prior to sunrise on Sunday.
I will state here that Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday, just before the first day of unleavened bread. As that Sabbath was a high day (John 19:31), and since the day before the high days was considered to be a preparation day, it was that day, and not a Friday, that Jesus was crucified on. If professing Christians would keep the Holy Days, more would realize that.
Here is a detailed explanation about the day of the crucifixion:
Was Jesus Resurrected on Sunday?
If you visit a mainstream Christian church and ask members why the day on which they and other people attend worship services is Sunday, a typical response might be that Jesus was resurrected on that day. But how well does this idea bear up under close scrutiny?
Notice what Christ told the Pharisees, who were looking for a sign of the Messiah: "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and NO SIGN will be given to it EXCEPT the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth" (Matt. 12:39-40).
The only sign Jesus gave to prove He was the Messiah was that the grave would only hold Him for a limited amount of time-exactly "three days and three nights" (or 72 hours). But the Easter Sunday tradition maintains that Christ was buried just before sunset on "Good Friday" afternoon and resurrected early Sunday morning-only two nights and one day (or 36 hours)!
Some will argue the definition of "day." But Christ clearly stated that there are 12 hours in a day, not including the night (John 11:9-10). Therefore, when Easter Sunday proponents take His remark and conclude that Christ was in the grave three days x 12 hours = 36 hours, we can see that they are leaving out the "three nights." There are approximately 12 hours of daytime and 12 hours of nighttime in one 24-hour day! So three days and three nights is definitely 72 hours. But was it exactly 72 hours? Jesus said He would rise "AFTER three days" (Mark 8:31)-i.e. no less than 72 hours. But He also said He would rise "IN three days" (John 2:19, 21)-i.e. no more than 72 hours. This is absolutely clear-72 hours exactly! And God is always right on schedule.
Also consider that, when the women came to His tomb Sunday morning, "it was still dark" (John 20:1) and He had already risen. How could this be? The Sunday-resurrection proponents contend that He had risen just moments before. If they are correct, then "three days and three nights" earlier would be just before sunrise on Thursday morning. Yet no one believes Christ was buried on Thursday morning-or any morning for that matter-and with good reason. When Joseph of Arimathea laid Christ's body in the tomb, "the Sabbath drew near" (Luke 23:50-54). Biblical days, including Sabbaths, begin at sunset and end the following sunset (cf. Genesis 1:5-31; Leviticus 23:32)-a nighttime period followed by a daytime period.

Christ, then, was buried in late afternoon-before a particular Sabbath began at sunset. Three days and three nights later would be the same time of day-late afternoon! Now we have another problem. If we assume that Christ was buried on Friday afternoon, as the Good Friday tradition asserts, then His resurrection-72 hours later-would be Monday afternoon. Yet no one believes this either-again, with good reason. For remember that Christ had already risen before the women came to His tomb prior to daybreak Sunday morning! What, then, is the answer?
Why have so many thought that Christ was put in the grave on Friday afternoon? Mark 15:42 states that "it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath." Since the weekly Sabbath always occurred on the seventh day of the week (now called Saturday), the "Preparation Day" was normally on Friday. However, we have already seen the problem with this. The answer to the apparent dilemma is that the weekly Sabbath is not the only Sabbath mentioned in the Bible. Leviticus 23 lists seven annual Holy Days that occur in God's Festivals. Each of these days was considered a Sabbath (or a "rest" from normal labor). All annual Sabbaths or "High Days" (except Pentecost) fell on particular calendar dates rather than set days of the week.
Now the mystery can be solved by reading John 19:31. The Jews wanted to remove the crucifixion victims "because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a HIGH DAY)." Christ kept the Passover with His disciples the night before His death (Luke 22:15). He died on the cross the next afternoon, which was still Passover (the 14th of Abib or Nisan according to the Hebrew Calendar-Leviticus 23:5). Leviticus 23:6-7 reports that the next day, beginning the evening after His crucifixion, was not a weekly Sabbath, but an annual Sabbath-the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
Now put together the facts. It is clear from the Bible that Christ died and was buried on Passover afternoon-and that the following day was an annual Sabbath. It is also clear that he was resurrected at the same time of day-late afternoon. But which afternoon? Since the women found Him already gone Sunday morning, it would be sensible to conclude that He had been resurrected the previous afternoon on Saturday! This would mean He had been buried three days and three nights earlier-Wednesday afternoon. It would also mean that Passover, Nisan 14, fell on a Wednesday that year. And, indeed, that is what happened in A.D. 31, a year that fits the time frame the Bible demands.

Scripture also provides further proof that there were TWO Sabbaths that week-an annual and a weekly one. In Mark 15:47, Mary Magdalene and her companion watched Joseph of Arimathea lay Jesus in the tomb near the end of the Passover. The next verse, Mark 16:1, tells us that after the "Sabbath," Mary Magdalene and her companions bought spices with which to anoint Christ's dead body. However, Luke 23:56 shows that they prepared the spices before the Sabbath. Naturally, they couldn't have prepared spices before they were even bought! The only explanation that makes sense is that they bought the spices on Friday and prepared them the same day-after the annual Sabbath on Thursday and before the weekly Sabbath on Saturday! Then they rested on the weekly Sabbath-at the end of which Jesus was resurrected. The next morning, Sunday, they came to the tomb before sunrise and found him already gone.
But some will point out Mark 16:9, which says, "Now when He rose early on the first day of the week...." Yet how can this be? To understand, we should read the verse in the original King James Version and continue further in the sentence: "Now when Jesus was risen [the perfect tense is correct here-He was already risen] early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene." He was not "rising" on Sunday morning. As we've seen, He rose Saturday afternoon. So early Sunday morning, He was already "risen." Also realize that in the original Greek there was no punctuation. Had the King James translators simply put a comma after the word "risen" and not after "week," this would make complete sense. The Centenary Translation renders it this way: "Now after his resurrection, early on the first day of the week he appeared first to Mary Magdalene."
To conclude, a Sunday morning resurrection could not be the reason for changing the weekly day of worship from Saturday to Sunday. But even if Christ were resurrected on Sunday, why would His disciples-who had kept the seventh-day Sabbath with Him-have abandoned His example of keeping the Ten Commandments and switched to Sunday-keeping? And why would they have picked Sunday, a day already associated with pagan sun worship? But the Bible is very clear that Christ was NOT resurrected on Sunday morning. So this pitiful attempt to CHANGE God's Law does not hold water! (Meredith R.C. Which Day is the Christian Sabbath? © 2006 Living Church of God).

Pilgrim, you said...
"As far as I know the New Testament Christians use to try to rest on Saturdays instead of Sundays and this was changed by the Catholic church. "
Dear Sister,We trust the writings of the early Church and the Church Fathers because some of the Fathers were direct Disciples of the Apostles themselves .
Contrary to the teaching of Seventh Day Adventists the early Church gathered for worship on the Lord’s Day (Sunday), not Saturday, in honor of the day our Lord rose from the dead.
Here is some of the early writings.....
Part 1 of 2
The Didache
But every Lord's day . . . gather yourselves together and break bread, and give thanksgiving after having confessed your transgressions, that your sacrifice may be pure. But let no one that is at variance with his fellow come together with you until they be reconciled, that your sacrifice may not be profaned (Didache 14 [A.D. 70]).
Ignatius of Antioch
[T]hose who were brought up in the ancient order of things [i.e., Jews] have come to the possession of a new hope, no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in the observance of the Lord's day, on which also our life has sprung up again by him and by his death (Letter to the Magnesians 8 [A.D. 110]).
The Didascalia
The apostles further appointed; On the first day of the week let there be service, and the reading of the holy scriptures, and the oblation [sacrifice of the Mass], because on the first day of the week [Sunday] our Lord rose from the place of the dead, and on the first day of the week he arose upon the world, and on the first day of the week he ascended up to heaven, and on the first day of the week he will appear at last with the angels of heaven (Didascalia 2 [A.D. 225]).
Victorinus
The sixth day [Friday] is called parasceve, that is to say, the preparation of the kingdom. . . . On this day also, on account of the passion of the Lord Jesus Christ, we make either a station to God or a fast. On the seventh day he rested from all his works, and blessed it, and sanctified it. On the former day we are accustomed to fast rigorously, that on the Lord's Day we may go forth to our bread with giving of thanks. Let the parasceve become a rigorous fast, lest we should appear to observe any Sabbath with the Jews . . . which Sabbath he [Christ] in his body abolished (The Creation of the World [A.D. 300]).
Eusebius
They [the early saints of the Old Testament] did not care about circumcision of the body, neither do we [Christians]. They did not care about observing Sabbaths, nor do we. They did not avoid certain kinds of food, neither did they regard the other distinctions which Moses first delivered to their posterity to be observed as symbols; nor do Christians of the present day do such things (Church History 1:4:8 [A.D. 325]).
[T]he day of his [Christ's] light . . . was the day of his resurrection from the dead, which they say, as being the one and only truly holy day and the Lord's day, is better than any number of days as we ordinarily understand them, and better than the days set apart by the Mosaic Law for feasts, new moons, and Sabbaths, which the Apostle [Paul] teaches are the shadow of days and not days in reality (Proof of the Gospel 4:16:186 [A.D. 319]).

Pilgrim,
Part 2
Athanasius
The Sabbath was the end of the first creation, the Lord's day was the beginning of the second, in which he renewed and restored the old in the same way as he prescribed that they should formerly observe the Sabbath as a memorial of the end of the first things, so we honor the Lord's day as being the memorial of the new creation (On Sabbath and Circumcision 3 [A.D. 345]).
Cyril of Jerusalem
Fall not away either into the sect of the Samaritans or into Judaism, for Jesus Christ has ransomed you. Stand aloof from all observance of Sabbaths and from calling indifferent meats common or unclean (Catechetical Lectures 4:37 [A.D. 350]).
Council of Laodicea
Christians should not Judaize and should not be idle on the Sabbath, but should work on that day; they should, however, particularly reverence the Lord's Day and, if possible, not work on it, because they were Christians (canon 29 [A.D. 360]).
John Chrysostom
When he said, "You shall not kill" . . . he did not add "because murder is a wicked thing." The reason was that conscience had taught this beforehand, and he speaks thus, as to those who know and understand the point. Wherefore when he speaks to us of another commandment, not known to us by the dictate of conscience, he not only prohibits, but adds the reason. When, for instance, he gave commandment concerning the Sabbath — "On the seventh day you shall do no work"— he subjoined also the reason for this cessation. What was this? "Because on the seventh day God rested from all his works which he had begun to make" [Ex. 20:10]. And again: "Because you were a servant in the land of Egypt" [Deut. 21:18]. For what purpose then, I ask, did he add a reason respecting the Sabbath, but did no such thing in regard to murder? Because this commandment was not one of the leading ones. It was not one of those which were accurately defined of our conscience, but a kind of partial and temporary one, and for this reason it was abolished afterward. But those which are necessary and uphold our life are the following: '"You shall not kill... You shall not commit adultery... You shall not steal." On this account he adds no reason in this case, nor enters into any instruction on the matter, but is content with the bare prohibition (Homilies on the Statues 12:9 [A.D. 387]).
You have put on Christ, you have become a member of the Lord and been enrolled in the heavenly city, and you still grovel in the Law [of Moses]?
All of this is of course supported by Scripture also
Here is just a few cases....
1 Cor. 16:2 - Paul instructs the Corinthians to make contributions to the churches "on the first day of the week," which is Sunday. This is because the primary day of Christian worship is Sunday.
Col. 2:16-17 - Paul teaches that the Sabbath was only a shadow of what was fulfilled in Christ, and says "let no one pass judgment any more over a Sabbath."
2 Thess. 2:15 - we are to hold fast to apostolic tradition, whether it is oral or written. The 2,000 year-old tradition of the Church is that the apostles changed the Sabbath day of worship from Saturday to Sunday.
Heb. 4:8-9 - regarding the day of rest, if Joshua had given rest, God would not later speak of "another day," which is Sunday, the new Sabbath. Sunday is the first day of the week and the first day of the new creation brought about by our Lord's resurrection, which was on Sunday.
I wish you a Blessed Day!

Hi bob,
With all do respect I do not believe this church document can be trusted or to say the least it should be considered questionable, it’s dated {Didache 14 [A.D. 70]). The same year of the destruction of Jerusalem! It is also a known fact that the RCC and the Catholic Church Fathers were and are very Anti Jewish! No where in the Scripture is {the First day of the week} called the Lords Day!!! Christ is the lord of the Sabbath which is the 7th day of the week not the First if were going to keep it 100% Biblical as we should, another strange thing Bob is the fact that this document sticky states {But every Lord's day . . . gather yourselves together and break bread, and give thanksgiving after having confessed your transgressions, that your sacrifice may be pure. Meaning to take communion And this can not be so, because theirs only one time the Bible records the apostles partaking of the Lords Supper or COMMUNION and that was the night Christ was betrayed, on the 14th day of the first month of spring! Which falls on a different day of the week every year but always around or on April 3RD every year and not on Pagan Easter Sunday as the Churches teach today both catholic and Protestant, Making it a yearly event not a weekly one,
Like I have said over and over, we do not practice First century today!!! Far from it.
God Bless

Pilgrim,
Part 2
Athanasius
The Sabbath was the end of the first creation, the Lord's day was the beginning of the second, in which he renewed and restored the old in the same way as he prescribed that they should formerly observe the Sabbath as a memorial of the end of the first things, {{{so we honor the Lord's day as being the memorial of the new creation (On Sabbath and Circumcision 3 [A.D. 345])}}}.
{{{Do we find this in Scripture}}}???
Christians should not Judaize and should not be idle on the Sabbath, but should work on that day; they should, however, particularly reverence the Lord's Day and, if possible, not work on it, because they were Christians (canon 29 [A.D. 360]).
{{{{As i stated they were and are very Anti Jewish}}}!!!
All of this is of course supported by Scripture also
Here is just a few cases....
1 Cor. 16:2 - Paul instructs the Corinthians to make contributions to the churches "on the first day of the week," which is Sunday. {{{This is because the primary day of Christian worship is Sunday}}}.
The Scripture dose not sate {the primary day of Christian worship is Sunday}}}. Bob did!

Johnny,
First,How are you feeling?
Hopefully better.
In the Old Testament the Sabbath was to make men mindful of the fact that the world did not exist from all eternity but was created in a limited period of time, after which “God rested on the seventh day from all the work which He had done.” The Jewish Sabbath was, therefore, to be a memorial of the first creation of the physical universe.
With the coming of Christ, the Lord by His grace made man into a new creature and this new creation was begun with the Savior’s Resurrection from the dead.
In the New Covenant since the Resurrection took place on a Sunday, we keep holy this day instead of the Sabbath as did the Jews of old.
I wish you a Blessed Day!

Please understand just what Christ was saying when he said that the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath!!! He was saying that this day of REST was made for you and not you for the day of rest!!! So take advantage of it in its fullest for it is a gift of God!!! And that same day that was kept by Christ himself 2000 years ago has never changed my Sister but I do see your point!!!

Comments from Leaders of Sunday Churches
Since so many churches keep Sunday, it might be of interest to say what some of their leaders say about its origins.
The following came from the Living Church of God booklet titled Which Day is the Christian Sabbath?:
Saturday vs. Sunday
Statements from Other Churches
Jesus Christ said of the Pharisees, "'In vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men.... All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition" (Mark 7:7-9). Yet notice what other churches admit regarding their observance of Sunday instead of Saturday.
ROMAN CATHOLIC
Stephen Keenan, A Doctinal Catechism, p. 174:
"Question: Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?
"Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her—she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the seventh day, a change for which there is no scriptural authority....
"Question: When Protestants do profane work upon Saturday... do they follow the Scripture as their only rule of faith...?
"Answer: On the contrary, they have only the authority of tradition for this practice. In profaning Saturday, they violate one of God's commandments, which He has never clearly abrogated, 'Remember thou keep holy the Sabbath.'"
The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, 3rd ed., p. 50:
"Question: Which is the Sabbath day?
"Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath day.
"Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
"Answer: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church, in the Council of Laodicea [c. 363] transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday."
Catholic Press, Aug. 25, 1900
"Sunday is a Catholic institution, and... can be defended only on Catholic principles.... From beginning to end of Scripture there is not a single passage that warrants the transfer of weekly public worship from the last day of the week to the first."

METHODIST
Charles Buck, A Theological Dictionary, "Sabbath":
"Sabbath in the Hebrew language signifies rest, and is the seventh day of the week... and it must be confessed that there is no law in the New Testament concerning the first day."
Clovis Chappell, Ten Rules for Living, p. 61:
"The reason we observe the first day instead of the seventh is based on no positive command. One will search the Scriptures in vain for authority for changing from the seventh day to the first."
PRESBYTERIAN
The Christian at Work", April 19, 1883, and Jan. 1884:
"Some have tried to build the observance of Sunday upon Apostolic command, whereas the Apostles gave no command on the matter at all.... The truth is, so soon as we appeal to the litera scripta [literal writing] of the Bible, the Sabbatarians have the best of the argument."
ANGLICAN
Isaac William, D.D., Plain Sermons on the Catechism, vol. 1:
"Where are we told in Scripture that we are to keep the first day at all? We are commanded to keep the seventh; but we are nowhere commanded to keep the first day.... The reason why we keep the first day of the week holy instead of the seventh is for the same reason that we observe many other things, not because the Bible, but because the Church, has enjoined it."
EPISCOPAL
Philip Carrington, Toronto Daily Star, Oct. 26, 1949:
"The Bible commandment says on the seventh day thou shalt rest. That is Saturday. Nowhere in the Bible is it laid down that worship should be done on Sunday."
BAPTIST
Harold Lindsell (editor), Christianity Today, Nov. 5, 1976:
"There is nothing in Scripture that requires us to keep Sunday rather than Saturday as a holy day."

Look Johnny,I,m not going to go round and round on this.
I have pointed out to you the history of what the early Christians practiced and that some of them were direct disciple,s of the Apostles themselves.
Some of these same men were on were also involved in Bible canon .
For me,I,m going to believe what the first Christians taught because some of them worshipped along side the Apostles themselves.
BTW,I actually go to Mass daily Monday thru Saturday. And no I don,t rest each of those days either. LOL!

Sad but True!
Can you imagine if we practiced public confessions in front of the whole congregation like the early Christians did?
There certainly would no doubt be a whole lot less sinning going on.

It was not just older writers who confirm that the day was changed to Sunday. Even the popular book The Da Vinci Code mentions it in the following passages:
In Constantine's day, Rome's official religion was sun worship--the cult of Sol Invictus, or the Invincible Sun--and Constantine was its high priest...By fusing pagan symbols, dates, and rituals into the growing Christian tradition, he created a type of hybrid religion...
Nothing in Christianity is original. The pre-Christian God Mithras – called the Son of God and the Light of the World – was born on December 25, died, was buried in a rock tomb, and then resurrected in three days. By the way, December 25 is also the birthday of Osiris, Adonis, and Dionysus. The newborn Krishna (of Hinduism) was presented with gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Even Christianity’s weekly holy day was stolen from the pagans....... Originally, Christianity honoured the Jewish Sabbath of Saturday, but Constantine shifted it to coincide with the pagan’s veneration day of the sun...... To this day, most churchgoers attend services on Sunday morning with no idea that they are there on account of the pagan sun god’s weekly tribute – Sunday. (Brown D. The Da Vinci Code. Doubleday, New York, 2003, pp. 232-233).
Furthermore, even the current Pope Benedict XVI confirmed that Sunday became the day of worship from tradition and that based upon it being some type of eighth day when he stated:
This Sunday the Gospel of John recounts that the risen Jesus appeared to his disciples, gathered in the cenacle, on the evening of the "first day of the week" (John 20:19), and that he showed himself to them again in the same place "eight days later" (John 20:26).
From the beginning, therefore, the Christian community began to live a weekly rhythm, highlighted by the encounter with the risen Lord.
It is what is also emphasized by the Second Vatican Council's constitution on the sacred liturgy, which affirms: "The Church, by an apostolic tradition, which has its origin in the same day of the resurrection of Christ, celebrates the paschal mystery every eight days, on the day that is called with reason 'day of the Lord' or Sunday" ("Sacrosanctum Concilium," No. 106). (Benedict XVI. Homily of April 23, 2006, Vatican City. Copyright 2006 -- Libreria Editrice Vaticana).
Of course, the resurrection was not on Sunday. And this eighth day discussion is essentially nonsense. Also, according to the Bible, the Passover is an annual event. But the world's form of Christianity accepts the Roman Catholic teachings on both Sunday and the paschal (Passover) observance.
Furthermore, Pope Benedict XVI admits cites the heretic Origen (and he was denounced as a heretic by the Roman Catholic Church) as part of his "proof" for Sunday:
From the very outset, this has been a stable element in the perception of the mystery of Sunday: "The Word", Origen affirms, "has moved the feast of the Sabbath to the day on which the light was produced and has given us as an image of true repose, Sunday, the day of salvation, the first day of the light in which the Savior of the world, after completing all his work with men and after conquering death, crossed the threshold of Heaven, surpassing the creation of the six days and receiving the blessed Sabbath and rest in God" (Comment on Psalm 91)...
Sunday was not chosen by the Christian community but by the Apostles, and indeed by Christ himself, who on that day, "the first day of the week", rose and appeared to the disciples (Benedict XVI. Papal Letter to Cardinal Arinze. January 9, 2007. Zenit.org).

I would challenge anyone to show any statement from Jesus ("The Word") that even hints that the Sabbath was changed to Sunday--as such a statement does not exist except in the imaginations of heretics like Origen. Nor does the Pontiff cite one scripture that says that Jesus changed the date (the comments about Jesus supposedly rising on the first day of the week were previously dealt with in this article).
Furthermore, any rational person who reads Psalm 91 would realize that it is discussing protection from God and is not in any way advocating a Sunday rest--and although it does use the terms shadow and night, it never once discussed light--so there is no support at all in Psalm 91 for Origen's false conclusion.
Perhaps I should add that this Pope does know that the Bible teaches that the seventh day is the sabbath, as he previously stated:
"Remember to keep holy the sabbath day. Six days you may labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord, your God" (Exodus 20:8-9). The sabbath is a holy day, that is, a day consecrated to God on which man understands better the meaning of his life and his work. It can therefore be said that the biblical teaching on work is crowned by the commandment of rest. (Benedict XVI. Homily of March 19, 2006, Vatican City. Copyright 2006 -- Libreria Editrice Vaticana).
Notice that he called this the biblical teaching. And the biblical teaching is that the seventh day is the sabbath. That is what Pope Benedict XVI should be endorsing, not Sunday.
Conclusion
There are no verses in the New Testament that enjoin Sunday. The first writings about Sunday worship for those that professed Christ were from heretics. Even leaders of many of the Sunday observing churches admit that weekly Sunday worship is without biblical support.
The Bible and early historical accounts support the concept that since Greek philosophers liked the eighth day of the week, but the Bible, the Jews, and the early Christians observed the seventh day, and there was a persecution against all things Jewish, that there were those in Rome and elsewhere who determined that it was safer to meet on the "eighth day" as this would distance themselves from the Jews. And this led to other humans teaching and following the observance of Sunday.
Jesus taught,
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24).
Since Sunday worship did not come from the Bible, can any who observe Sunday truly they are worshiping Him in truth?

Some people will argue about anything. If you are saved do you really think God your father will cast you into flames for not resting on a certain day? If you want to believe that, that is your right. The God I know is not a cold hearted dictator, vindictive and looking to split hairs and find any little reason to cast us aside.
Also, the discord and division commited by those who claim His name, bears worse fruit, and is a more serious issue than whether or not to rest on a certian day.
End of tirade.

That's fine. You're right, I don't know anything about GT teachings. But I do know more about Shabbat observances. Once again, G-d only commanded the Jews to observe the Sabbath. Non-Jews have no obligation to do so.

'Since Sunday worship did not come from the Bible, can any who observe Sunday truly they are worshiping Him in truth?'
What about people that worship him any day of the week or every day of the week?
Do you consider Paul a heretic?
4 Who art thou that judgest the servant of another? to his own lord he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be made to stand; for the Lord hath power to make him stand.
5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.
6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord: and he that eateth, eateth unto the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, unto the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
And:
Col 2:14-23
Especially
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days
And
9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
My opinion? Be a Jew or be a Christian but to mix the two is not proper nor necessary.

No Sister they couldn’t because they are not American citizens, it would take a very long time a whole lot of money and a lot of paper work and she couldn’t travel anyway because she’s pregnant now, I have learned through out the years to completely depend on God for everything in my life! This to me is nothing more than a attack of the enemy Satan, which will only make me stronger in the end, if I thought anything less I wouldn’t be trusting in God, and without faith it is impossible to please God, Am a preacher pilgrim, and am just a pilgrim in this land also,I truly believe in what I preach, the word of God has ALL the answers for everything in life! I stand on the word of Almighty God and Christ Joshua for my Complete Healing!!!
Mark 16
14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
1 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name {shall they cast out devils}; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
WELL I BELIEVE AND THESE SINGS {{{SHALL}}} FOLLOW ME!!!
This is the promise of Christ almighty himself in red letter, either its true and it stands for today or Christ is a liar!!!
Luke 10
19 Behold, {{{I give unto you power}}} to tread on serpents and scorpions, {{{and over all the power of the enemy}}}: and {{{nothing shall by any means hurt you}}}.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

This My Sister tells me that we as true believers have Power over {{{all the power of the enemy Satan}}},
One night I was laying in bed reading my Bible back in the Philippines and I came across Luke 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
And that scripture jumped out of the Bible and hit me so hard that I was never the same after that!!!
Really take in just what it actually says Sister, Don’t be happy because {the spirits are subject unto you} But be happy and thankful that your name is written in heaven! WOW!!!
That’s clearly telling me that if my name is written in the lambs book of life I have Power over every unclean spirit and over ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY SATAN HIMSELF!!!
Now it also tells me if I am not a true child of God and my name is not written in the Lambs book of life, than I myself am subject to the spirits!!!
John 12
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, {{{He that believeth on me}}}, the works that I do {{{shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do}}}; because I go unto my Father.
13 And {{{whatsoever ye shall ask in my name}}}, {{{that will I do}}}, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask {{{any thing}}} in my name, I will do it.
Look at this
13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
14 {{{Is any sick among you}}}? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 {{{And the prayer of faith shall save the sick}}}, and {{{the Lord shall raise him up}}}; and if he have committed sins, {{{they shall be forgiven him}}}.
1 {Confess your faults one to another}, {and pray one for another}r, {{{that ye may be healed}}}. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
OH GLORY HALALUYA
We should all as true followers of Yahshua Ha Messiah son of YHWH/YHVH stand firm on these Promises! FOR They belong to us each and every one of them and so much more!!!
God Bless you

"Called's posts definitely reveal a cult-like mentality."
Well, that is an understatement. I think he is a good example of someone desperately trying to appease a jealous and petty god that he imagines sits in judgment over mankind for such grave offenses as getting his rituals and rites off by a day. What a fruitless and vain way to spend your short life time.
Called, I wish you success in your struggle with your health. I realize it must be frightening. I'm certain you have wondered why god has not healed you. I am sure you followed all the rites and rituals as closely as I did. They didn't work for me either. Here is an example:
James 5
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
This doesn't work. I can attest to it not working. It didn't work for me and I have witnessed poor souls professing and confessing their 'healing' although it obviously did not happen. And they called that faith. I call that delusion and self-deception. I've seen desperate and submitted people who have been broken continue to call on a deaf and dumb god of their imaginations to keep its promises and answer their prayers. It doesn't work.
Obviously you know it doesn't work or you wouldn't be traveling to America to get Medical Science to diagnose and fix you. Be honest with your self and admit it. Free yourself from your bondage to legalism. You are a free human being, as much as any of us are free, and not the slave to an invisible tyrant.

Not exactly. Jewish days go from sunset to sunset. So 14 Nissan goes from sunset on Sunday to sunset on Monday. Monday during daylight hours is 14 Nissan. The first “day” of Pesach starts at sundown on Monday night, the 15th of Nissan.
I think the “Day of Preparation” is mentioned in the bible. This year, it runs from sundown on Sunday to sundown on Monday.
To carry this learning further, consider Tuesday. Tuesday morning and afternoon is the 1st day of Passover, while Tuesday evening starts the 2nd day of Passover.

Interesting quote. Applying Judaism to it would mean that all sick people would qualify as being messiahs. The definition of messiah (moshiach) in Judaism is “one that is anointed with oil”. It was a mark of kingship. Instead of a crown, they got an oily head.
Regarding called’s beliefs, I don’t understand how he keeps it all straight. When stuff goes wrong, he blames the devil. When stuff goes right, he praises a god. I’ve no idea what happens when stuff that seemed good at first, goes bad or stuff that was bad at first, goes good. “Praise god…no wait, I mean darn you devil….ummm…wait a second, praise god…..errr….hold on a second, can I get back to one of you about this?”
I’ve got it so much easier. If something bad happens, I complain to G-d. If something good happens, I thank G-d. Simple.
How do you do it? If something good happens, praise your own efforts. If something bad happens, blame Bush. lol

We are commanded to keep our NT Passover on 14 Nissan by the Apostle Paul, but the Catholic church made it against the Law and changed it to Easter which is nothing more than a Pagan man made tradition!!!
1 Corinthians 5
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
11But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Because of the decrees of the Council of Nicaea the Churches of the west [Catholic] switched officially from observance of the Passover at the evening of the 14th Nisan to observance of Easter Resurrection only. Confirmed by first canon at the Synod of Antioch in 341.
The Apostolic Churches of Asia still used the moon for seasons. Constantine wanted the Churches to abandon this practice and use the solar calendar.
The Churches of Asia [Johannean Quartodecimans] baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. This caused many to be labeled heretics.
The Synod of Antioch in 341 officially excommunicates Quartodecimans

"isn't that what government does?"
That is why the framers of the Constitution built into it safeguards which are being now being violated. The Constitution is the law of the land, not the men and women serving it.
The sad fact is most of us don't know what kind of government our forefathers fought so hard for. We are a Constitutional Republic not a Democracy. We are a nation ruled by laws not by men. The Constitution is The Law of the Land. Any law that contradicts the Constitution is unlawful. We are being extorted by the criminals running this country. (ahhh geez, don't get me started on that)

Johnny, There is "some" partial truth in your post #1622
But this is all much ado about nothing because Christ wants unity and the Early Christians knew that Easter is primarily a matter of ecclesiastical discipline and not of astronomical science.
Here are the facts...
The Quartodecimans said that the observance of the fourteenth day was delivered to them by the apostle John, while the Romans and those in the Western parts assure us that their usage originated with the apostles Peter and Paul. Neither of these parties however could produce any written testimony in confirmation of what they asserted.
Because of this a decision needed to be made to keep unity in the Church and the Early Christians knew that "a house divided would fall"
The celebration of Easter in Asia Minor rarely extended beyond the churches of Asia Minor.
The Quartodecimans observed Easter on the second day after the Passover of the Jews, that is, on the fourteenth day of the Jewish month Nisan, regardless of the day of the week on which it fell.
The fact is-The majority of Christians during this time period celebrated it on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the Spring equinox
Here is a very good explanation of all of this
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/05228a.htm
Remember, even the Apostles themselves had disagreements on the such things like wether or not men need circumcision before entering the Church.
I,m sure there were plenty a happy fellow that thanked Saint Paul for eventially winning that argument! LOL!
Also keep in mind that the Church in Asia was united with the west in their belief of the Trinity.
Saint Irenaues was a staunch defender in asia of ridding the Church of heretical non Trinity beliefs in the mid 2nd to late century.

The first was mainly concerned with the lawfulness of celebrating Easter on a weekday. We read in Eusebius (Hist. Eccl., V, xxiii): "A question of no small importance arose at that time [i.e. the time of Pope Victor, about A.D. 190]. {{{The dioceses of all Asia, as from an older tradition, held that the fourteenth day of the moon, on which day the Jews were commanded to sacrifice the lamb}}}, should always be observed as the feast of the life-giving pasch [epi tes tou soteriou Pascha heortes], contending that the fast ought to end on that day, whatever day of the week it might happen to be. {{{However it was not the custom of the churches in the rest of the world to end it at this point}}}, as they observed the practice, {{{which from Apostolic tradition has prevailed to the present time}}}, of terminating the fast on no other day than on that of the Resurrection of our Saviour. Synods and assemblies of bishops were held on this account, and all with one consent through mutual correspondence drew up an ecclesiastical decree that the mystery of the Resurrection of the Lord should be celebrated on no other day but the Sunday and that we should observe the close of the paschal fast on that day only."
OH Bob please don't try to get around this one also! Pagan Easter Sunday replaced our true Passover Lamb celiaration on 14th Nisan, which the Aposole Paul himself commanded us to keep!!! this was a commandment given to us by the Apostles of the Gentiles himself, through a gentile church in a gentile city Corinth!!! it has nothing to do with OT Jews, and it was not Paul who changed the name and date of this NT Jewish and Gentile Calibration, it was the RCC in which she no right or Biblical grounds whatsoever to do!!!

The Council of Nicaea and succeeding Popes go further and proclaim that if anyone persist in observing this fable [Passover], that person will be excommunicated and denied the privilege of partaking in the delicacies of Babylon's Mysterious Mass.
Well the, let's obey the example set forth by Jesus and follow the apostles doctrine and keep the 14th of Nisan at even as the Lord's Passover Feast as He ordained.
If we disobey the decrees of Nicaea and return to the Lord's Passover, we are removing ourselves from the Catholic Church, her creeds, and her Council decrees. Choose to obey God rather than man, even if it is the Council of Nicea, the Pope, a Denomination, Organization, Priest, Preacher, Father, Mother, Husband, Wife. Obey your Lord Jesus Christ. Obey your Lord and the Apostle's Doctrine and keep the Passover Feast at the 14th of Nisan at even. Be no longer deceived. Jesus fulfilled the law of the Passover lamb and we are to keep the Christian Passover on the of 14th Nisan as he commanded as a memorial of his death and the purchase of the Church.
Are their any true followers of Christ in here? That is not afraid of offending someone and is willing to take a true stand for Christ our Passover Lamb and say enough is enough, not this time!!! And say let us keep this most Holy day of the year Pure for our messiah? Dose anyone truly belong to Him anymore? Stop letting the RCC control each and every move you make and breath you take according to your beliefs and Practices. Step out on your own and stand on the pure word of God for once in your life!!!

MODERN CHURCHES FOLLOW THE PAPACY
AND OBSERVE THE LORD'S PASSOVER WHEN THEY HAVE A WHIM
Many Churches and Pastors do not discern the full revelation in the Lord's Cup or His Body. They affirm only what their denomination teaches them or what they have come to believe as a tradition of man. The proof is their new years eve celebration of this sacred Memorial. They substitute the Lord's Passover with their own style of Mass or service. Some get very angry if you try to change them or challenge them with the truth. They deny the honor and glory that comes with the real remembrance of Christ's death on the proper day. Instead of focusing on His death, as Jesus said the Passover was to typify, they focus on the Resurrection as the purpose of the Passover Supper. Any Bible Student can see the error. However, those who go along with the Council Of Nicea have always attempted to say that those who hold the Lord's Passover deny the Resurrection. This is untrue. They follow the decrees of the Council of Nicaea in 325 and keep Easter, rejecting forever the Lord's Passover. Those who hold the Lord's Passover, celebrate both his crucifixion and his resurrection.
There was no actual ritual to follow in celebration in remembrance of the resurrection. Modern customs all come from paganism. The Passover of Christ was never given to symbolize the Resurrection. Without the Passover, there would have been no Resurrection and consequently no Church. Instead, Jesus Christ instituted that the Resurrection be commemorated each and every time a person is baptized. [Rom 6:4] For it is in Baptism that we are buried with Christ. It is baptism that we are raised up as Christ was resurrected from the dead. It is through water baptism that sins are remitted by the blood of Christ. [Acts 2:38] It is upon rising from baptism that we are made new creatures in Christ. [Rom. 6:1-6] It is in Baptism that we take on the name of Christ. [Acts 2:38]. It is in baptism that we affirm our faith that the same Jesus who died on Passover, rose the first day of the week for our total redemption.

Yes,
Unconditional selfless Love has been placed in our hearts by Christ Sacrifice.
Nothing can be more pure!

Incorrect. We are commanded to sacrifice a ram, not a lamb. Rhyming doesn't count, else a ham would've been acceptable as well. Also, it isn't a sin sacrifice, but a thanksgiving sacrifice.

Your right granite, But most of the professing Christians here on factnet will be serving Easter Ham and openly celebrating this Pagan roman catholic holyday and therefore rejecting our True Biblical Passover, which brings damnation upon the soul if you know better, but do it anyway!!! These people just wont listen to anything, they don’t want to know the truth, and even if you prove it to them, which i have, they will continue to practice what they know in their hearts is wrong!!! They are apostate and there is no possible way of getting round that, because they have turned their backs on the one true faith that was once delivered to the saints with no regret!!!

So i will ask this once more, is anyone in here planing on keeping the NT Passover commanded by the Apostle Paul in 1 cor 5:7- it starts tonight at sunset until tomarro Monday sunset which is 14 Nissan or are you plaining on keeping Pagan Roman Catholic easter next sunday which is an abomination in the sight of God!
Jewish days go from sunset to sunset. So 14 Nissan goes from sunset on Sunday to sunset on Monday. Monday during daylight hours is 14 Nissan. The first “day” of Pesach starts at sundown on Monday night, the 15th of Nissan.
james 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Something you said stock in my mind!!! you said a Lamb or a male Lamb could not be offered as a sin offering right?
6. Once the Lamb was dead, it was to be roasted in fire (v.8).
Jesus endured the fire of God's judgment, taking the punishment for the world's sin upon Himself, and descending into hell itself and taking our punishment upon Himself.
this is a lie because Roman Catholic word{{{Hell}}} simply means grave or world of the dead!!1
The debt had to have been satisfied.
Jesus was also our burnt offering (sin offering).
I pulled this off a website! Christ is considered to be our Passover Lamb and he is a male!!! but this goes against Jewish Law right?
whats your thoughts here?

<font color="0000ff">Something you said stock in my mind!!! you said a Lamb or a male Lamb could not be offered as a sin offering right?</font>
I said two things, one of which is in error. First, I said we sacrificed a Passover ram, not a lamb. I was wrong, it was a lamb. Second, I said the <u>Passover sacrifice</u> was not a sin sacrifice. That was correct. I see you found the jdstone website which offers further details on sacrifices.
The actual reason for the Pesach lamb sacrifice was because the Egyptians worshipped it. The killing of the lamb was both a sign of bravery on the part of the Jews that G-d would save them from the Egyptians anger over killing their god AND it was a celebration that G-d could kill the Egyptian god.
Exodus 8:22 What we will sacrifice to HaShem our L-rd is sacred to the Egyptians. Could we sacrifice the sacred animal of the Egyptians before their very eyes and not have them stone us?
Moses clearly tells Pharaoh (and us) that the animal to be sacrificed by the Jews is sacred to the Egyptians. The paschal lamb has nothing whatsoever to do with atoning for sins.
<font color="0000ff">Christ is considered to be our Passover Lamb and he is a male!!! but this goes against Jewish Law right?</font>
Right. Your deity fails as a valid sacrifice in dozens of ways.
The GT gives contradictory information about Jsus' supposed "last" supper. Some gospels say it was a Passover meal (Seder) but then have him eating bread, not matzo (sinning by doing so). Another gives a different date. BTW, there is no such term in Judaism as "the preparation day".
<font color="119911">Matthew 27:62 [The Guard at the Tomb] The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate.</font>
Would you call Xmas “the day after preparation day”? Or would you call it Xmas? How about Easter? Would you call any holy day “the day after preparation day” -- or Easter? So why would a Jew call Passover "the day after Preparation Day"? Because it wasn't a Jew who wrote it. It was not written by anyone who knew a thing about Judaism.
And what exactly was the day a preparation for, Passover or Sabbath? Pick different gospels and get different answers!
<font color="119911">Mark 15:42 It was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath).
Luke 23:54 It was Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was about to begin.
John 19:14 It was the day of Preparation of Passover Week, about the sixth hour.
John 19:31 Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath.</font>
Jews are forbidden from eating leavened bread on Passover.
Exodus 12:14 This day must be one that you will remember. You must keep it as a festival to God for all generations. It is a law for all time that you must celebrate it.
2:15 Eat matzahs (unleavened bread) for seven days. By the first day, you must have your homes cleared of all leaven. Whoever eats leaven from the first day until the seventh day will have his soul cut off from Israel.
Note that G-d is VERY specific. He says “it is a law FOR ALL TIME. So either G-d lied or jesus broke the law.

There's a third option: The Greek word for bread includes both leaven and unleaven breads. This is the option that the RCC accepts and to this day the RCC uses only unleaven breads in the Mass.

{Jews are forbidden from eating leavened bread on Passover}. I always thought we must eat unleavened bread also while partaking of the Lords supper or communion, now I see that Christ himself according to three different translations eat leavened bread during this breaking of bread with his Apostles! Wow I have never ever noticed this before but either someone really screwed up very badly in these translations or we have truly been deceived to the ultimate limited here! I took the lords Passover last night with my dad before we went to bed and we used unleavened bread, Am really going to study very hard on this subject now! But I know Roman Catholic Easter is Pagan as Hell itself, I have studied many years on that!!

The Greek word for bread includes both leaven and unleaven breads.
that is not true.
the words are clearly different.
Mt 26:17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
a[zumoß Azumos (ad'-zoo-mos);
Word Origin: Greek, Adjective, Strong #: 106
unfermented, free from leaven or yeast
of the unleavened loaves used in the paschal feast of the Jews
metaph. free from faults or the "leaven of iniquity"
Mt 26:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
a[rtoß Artos (ar'-tos);
Word Origin: Greek, Noun Masculine, Strong #: 740
food composed of flour mixed with water and baked
the Israelites made it in the form of an oblong or round cake, as thick as one's thumb, and as large as a plate or platter hence it was not to be cut but broken

of the bread used at the love-feasts and at the Lord's Table
food of any kind
they are two entirely different words.

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.29

14:22
And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.23
And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.24
And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.25
Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
Luke
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
22:15
And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:16
For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.17
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.19 And he took bread,
and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
John-
Story not recorded by John
these are the gospel accounts.
they all use the greek word for leavened bread.
the eucharist is not the bread, it is the blessing.
The word "Eucharist" comes from the Greek noun; (transliterated, "Eucharistia"), meaning thanksgiving.[1] This noun or the corresponding verb (to give thanks) is found in 55 verses of the New Testament.
according to the greek used in these gospel accounts, jesus broke jewish law.
the only places that the greek word for unleavened bread is used is when describing the passover.
one other time is when paul talks of it in 1cor.5.
here paul equates leaven with immorality.
why would jesus disregard such a thing?
the writers show that they know the difference between the words.

Well, if you really want to do this, you started a day early. I’m using the last 4 slices of wheat bread for my lunch today. That was the last bit, I cleaned out my pantry of leavened products Sunday night. Though I tossed them in the garbage can, instead of actually burning them. Starting at sunset tonight, I will only be eating unleavened bread for the next 8 days. Matzah sandwiches with peanut butter are actually quite good.
