They say confession is good for the soul...
I would like to apologize to the members/readers of FACTNet (those on the other topics, moderators, etc.), all those on the "Religious Cults and Sects" topic, all SC followers,
and all future FACTNet readers for post #31, dated 9-22-06, in which I posted vile comments involving smyrna and Arnold Murray. I stepped WAY over the line out of a thirst for revenge and a need for oneupmanship. If I could have the post deleted I would, because of shame-- but I know this is not possible. It was a stupid thing to do on my part and showed zero class and a degenerate mind.
Smyrna, I apologize to you personally for my foolish act and depraved post on Friday. I know we don't agree, but that was in NO way a reason for me to resort to such low class tactics. For my disgusting post I am sorry and ask your forgiveness.
I have repented of my sin and asked God to forgive me and to remove this evil from my heart
and carnal thinking from my mind. I ask all the members here their forgiveness also-- that post was sick, Christless, and I will be embarrassed by it from now on because of it's permanent nature.
Thanks for your time and I harbor no ill will toward anyone here.
P.S. If I don't respond to this post in the future, please don't take it as a "slight" or that I am trying to ignore anyone who chooses to respond-- understandably, I would just like to put this demented act of mine behind me.
Also, if you are thinking that it took me a LONG time to finally step up and do the right thing and apologize-- I agree-- approx. 4 days-- 4 days too long, really.

Wow Balaam, You showed alot of class by posting this. You seem very sincere in your remorse.
Yes, I forgive you. We all make mistakes but that is why Jesus died, it was for our sins. If God can forgive you then I most certainly can. None of us are perfect.
Thank you Balaam. I really appreciated your post and I know it took guts for you to post. I can respect that.

Awesome Balaam, absolutely astounding!!! Please don't ever beat yourself up over that post again. Forgiveness through repentance lasts forever. I will never again bring it up. *sob* you made my heart sing tonight. God bless you Balaam, and welcome back.

Balaam,
The Holy Spirit has reached down and grabbed your hand. I forgive you as well, and one teaching of Pastor Murray you may agree with is that "when you repent of a sin, God does not want to hear of it again."
It is gone, the Blood of Jesus cleansed you of it.
So I will follow Jesus, and vow not mention it again after this post is complete.
By the way Balaam, you can have the post removed, you just have to contact the Moderator.
If that be the case, I am sure that the SC students that were involved in the discussions will refrain from detailing what was said in that post, if any newbies would bring it up again.
I vow never to use it aginst you, and I also want to tell you that I realize this will not cancel out all of our disagreements, but that since we are all here gathered in His name, He is with us, and we should conduct ourselves in ways that reflects our awareness His presence among us.
Bless you brother, and peace be with you.
"Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name".........

I can see the Lord in this and I really like it.

God bless you, balaam. I too would like to thank smyrna for accepting my apology on the other site. I thank God that He is just to forgive. I understand how difficult admitting guilt over harsh words can be, and I can only do it when I remember what Jesus suffered for me. God is good!

Godchild too?
Well, only the Holy Spirit can unite us in His love, and only the Holy Spirit's supernatural wisdom can overcome our differences, by showing us that we can disagree, but remain united in Him even when we are divided by our own individual understandings.
On another thread here, I have been discussing (with Munsun) how the history of the structure of the Church has been treated over the centuries. And I still do not know where that will lead. All I know is the the Holy Spirit is watching. And He will reveal Himself, which is His Word, on His terms, not ours.
Therefore we, I am sure, will continue to have disagreements, but hopefully we can tone down the name calling, sarcasm, and instead of concentrating on trying to out argue each other, appeal to the Holy Spirit to reveal more of Himself to us.
Godchild, I commend you and offer my own apology for pointing out what I see as your imperfections (motes)while I have worked very hard to keep from exposing my own.(beams)

Good Day everyone, I do indeed see a good day here! It's wonderful to see the work of Jesus here.
I agree Smyrna, we all have things we can work on. All of us have been guilty of saying things in the heat of the moment. But by the grace of God there is forgiveness when we truly repent! I also apologize for comments I have made which might have hurt others.
Balaam, I also vow to never bring that post #31 up again. Smyrna is right. If you email the moderators here, they can delete the post for you.
God bless.

WOW! I am absolutely floored by the discussion here. I think it is just wonderful. After having a really rough day at work, I was dreading what I might find here, but was pleasantly surprised.
I know we are all guilty of not exhibiting the most Christ-like behaviors when discussing something that we feel strongly about. If I have been unkind (and I am sure I probably have), I too offer my apologies to anyone I may have hurt. That is not my intention here, but it's easy to get caught up in it.
I don't care if this only lasts for a short time, it is wonderful for us to come together as brothers and sisters in Christ.
I vow to visit this thread when things get heated again (and you know they will) to remind myself that we CAN get along if we try.

Hi friends and fellow members in particular,
I was just reminded of a statement that I made to someone here.
It was that
"I Iook for the body of Christ in many places."
The Holy Spirit has used this thread to cause me to remember some verses ,concerning the body that we are each a member of ,that I think everyone will be edified by.
I sure am.
Colossians 3:10-13 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another,
if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Kinda fits
in a sweet way,
yes?

balaam and godchild in the same thread -- that is awesome!
I concur with all that has been written. Life here in the flesh is way too short to waste on personal attacks on others.
I have refrained from commenting on Balaam's posts because I am working hard to stick to the message of God's wonderful Truth.

abi, I would like to ditto your post. Today is a good day, because the Lord is in it. I read something this morning from one of Billy Graham's books that made me think hard about what is important in my life. I'd like to share it with you.
This is a poem written by Amy Carmichael that Ruth gave to Billy:
Will not the end explain
The crossed endeavor, earnest purpose foiled,
The strange bewilderment of good work spoiled, The clinging weariness, the inward strain,
Will not the end explain?
Meanwhile He comforteth
Them that are losing patience. 'Tis His way:
But none can write the words they hear Him say
For men to read; only they know He saith
Sweet words, and comforteth.
Not that He doth explain
The mystery that baffleth; but a sense
Husheth the quiet heart, that far, far hence
Lieth a field set thick with golden grain
Wetted in seedling days by many a rain;
The end--it will explain.

I have always had the highest regard for Billy Graham. I had the honor of seeing him just this last June, I think it was, in New Orleans.
He only needs the blessing of God of course, for his service to the Lord. But I really wish he would be rcognized by the Catholic Church as a Saint, the first non-Catholic in the history of the Church to be bestowed that honor.
St. William Graham. Come on, it does have a ring to it!

"ALMIGHTY GOD" is speaking,
- "HIS" words are "TRUE".
Isaiah 43:25
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions
for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
Isaiah 43:26
...Put me in remembrance:
.....let us plead together:
........declare thou,
.......that thou mayest be justified.

Makes me remember,
Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Even so,come Lord Jesus.

I was reading some old threads and I came across this thread.
I just had to bump it.
It is a good thread, for the most part.
Peace in Christ
