Boys & Girls Club Sells Norfolk Bldg. to Christian Fellowship
Azalea Garden Road Facility Trades for $2.15 Million
The Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Virginia sold its facility at 3415 Azalea Garden Road for $2.15 million, or approximately $73 per square foot. The Christian Fellowship Inc. purchased the building and excess land, which the Boys & Girls Club has owned and occupied since 1964, using available seller financing.
Located in the Airport Northampton submarket of Norfolk, the 29,500-square-foot building is on a 5.5-acre parcel zoned IN-1, ideal for schools, childcare facilities and churches.
Gary Ruffner, CCIM, senior director with GVA Advantis in Norfolk, represented the seller, while Ken Benassi, SIOR, also a senior director with GVA Advantis in Norfolk, represented the buyer.

Given the current market and drop in attendance, I see this place going on the market soon...can anyone say Foreclosure?
I knew you could say it.
That place was always a dump----even after they ripped out the "Purple Rain" carpet. I bet it's infested with mold too; just like their place in Waukegan. Even if it goes into foreclosure, nobody is going to buy it.
Maybe another cult could rent it.
***comes with it's own drowning pool***
I bet that new WAVE CHURCH in Virginia Beach doesn't make the congregation worship their leaders in a smelly gymnasium.

You need to believe and be baptized to be saved.Okay, I get it - and did it. Why then do the pastors continually insist that you really are not saved at this point, but need to do much, much more to be saved. It's all about mind control and keeping down and at bay. Without that absolute control, the brethren / people with begin to walk away on their own. Not to their spiritual demise, but to the organization trying desparately to control the way they think. Very sad.Jim

I think they are losing their grip. I agree with your post. Some in CFCMI seem really worried about the End Times? Is this something that they also push? Fear can be a big motivator.
The problem is these people were as saved before they joined CFCMI--even more so. I always had a problem with this terminology. LR 'saved' people then tempted them into all 7 forms of sin. Did he think he was 'saved'? I wonder!
Sin is a daily struggle for all of us. Despair seems to be a sin that the CFCMI pastors inflict on their flock. Satan loves despair. It can give him a way in. We need not fear him either, because we were baptised. We need to have hope and faith. It's there for the asking.
None of us is saved until we reach Heaven. As far as Purgatory goes--it is Heaven, kind of the outer rim. It just may not feel that way to those there. The good news is that we have out entire lives to become holier. We aren't lost, yet either.
If someone asks, "Are you saved?" Then reply, "I hope so!" :)
The flim-flam artists abound within the circle of churches. Many start churches, many start schools. Some of them are outright criminals who use religion to hide their crimes. Others are believers who are doing nothing more than perpetuate what they learned from the actual criminals who started the flim-flam ministry. And they teach others who teach others. Some are costly or dangerous and some are rather benign. Your minister might be a good person and very sincere but you need to use common sense when listening to them preach.
I for one, can’t understand why anyone would want to spend money to attend a non-accredited college. But then again, I don’t have a problem spending money on books I might read for my own personal growth, and there is no credit given for that. And preaching that the end times are near, what purpose does that have? Except to scare people to keep them in the flock and get them to recruit others.
BTW- for many of us, sin is not a daily struggle. But you can often see the personal struggle of you minister by listening to what he harps on. What are his biggest issues regarding sin? Does he constantly focus on pornography? Or fornication? Or drinking? These are probably his own personal fears, his own weaknesses. Of course, if they are a real flim-flam artist, you won’t know anything about their heart.
Just use good common sense.
Flim-Flam artists! LOL! Never heard it called that before!! But it's true. At CFC, leaders even BRAG about their criminal past....before they were "saved" (yeah, right!) LOL! At heart, they are still thieves---just operating on a different level. There are so many Fund-A-Mental churches out there, but they all operate the same way and are only out to siphon money from the unsuspecting.
As for their "college", it is apparently free. Grammy always said "you get what you pay for," so one would end up with a big fat "0" in terms of "higher learning".
What sickens me is how they attempt to 'legitimize" themselves within the community. Although the city is now aware of the long history of pedophilia and sexual deviancy within that so-called church, CFC still tries to appear mainstream. Anyone not knowing about what really goes on walks into a place where 'unbalanced' leaders use humiliation, verbal abuse and twisted scripture to secure funding for their own personal gain. (while bragging about that too.)
It's sick, scary and evil.

I think they are still doing drug and pushing them, too. Their reputation precedes them, for the worse. Also with all the hits on various sites, everyone is well warned except for the really naiive.
They definitely aren't the only ones 'saved' What a joke!!

I know they have the CA$H stashed somewheres.....
yet they're always cryin' poor; doin' stewardship sermons and having "special" offerings...
and they NEVER divulge WHERE their money goes.....but yet somehow maintain a cushy lifestyle for all the Hillbilly Davis Clan.....go figure.

oh, yeah----
Funny thing is, this building they have now has a lot of "unusable" space (ie, musty locker rooms, pool, etc...) That place is a $73 per square foot dump, just like Waukegan. And that crappy sign honoring ole "chicken-hawk" LR!! Nothing like a cult moving in to tank the property values even more.
Ed always said his "church" was never about the bricks and mortar; and I agree. His "church" is all about funding his car collection and stroking his ego.

I was bored and I looked up 3401 Azalea Garden Rd on Google maps (street view)
I never realized that Ed's gymnasium is in such a crap neighborhood. Almost as bad as Waukegan.
I wonder if they let creepy guys live in the basement there too.

Actually, many Hampton Roads buildings don't have basements. I bet they are living in slums in an EVEN WORSE neighborhood!! CFC has a surplus of creepy guys.
