Brother Charles Williams. Does my memory serve me right, were you not in the band? Trumpet, I believe? If so, that is my recollection. If not, please refresh me. As for me, I was the foundation plumber. Myself and many other brothers were sent up first to Saugus to set up the old restaurant that became the building for the nightly services. Due to our construction work, many did not see us often, except when we were called up to give a testimony or open services. John Starziak was the electrician, and many brothers did the carpentry work. We also built Tony and Sue's home up on the hill as you go toward Saugus 2. I am 68 years old at this present time; it has been about 30 years since I was there. I didn't keep up on the goings on at the foundation until recently when I received an email from a brother who happened across my website, and recognized me from my personal testimony on the site. Believe it or not, I forgot his name [I think it might have been John Modesto], but I remember that it was he who rode up to Bakersfield one evening with me in the plumbing truck; he says that he was nodding off while driving and that I shook him lightly to snap him out of it, and so he credited me with saving his life [of course it was the Lord, if anything]. Well, I'm still pressing forward for the Lord, through our website, which has readers in 75 countries so far. God only knows how many may have come to the Lord through this work. I ran off an email to James Richardson [haven't heard from him yet]; don't know if you remember him. I sure hope someone knows where John Starziak, the foundation electrician is or can be located; we worked so closely for many years, it would be good to hear from him and his great sense of humor once again.

Brother Chas, This is John Walsh. I’ll send you a pic, but I doubt it will do any good, it’s been at least 30 years. Yes, I do remember Bob Kitchner, Ernie Harris, Tommy Scarcello and others. However, being mostly among the construction brothers, I only knew the others in passing. Even in Bakersfield, when plumbing projects slowed, we were there only a few times. The construction brothers didn’t get to witness as much as we would have like either, but the Lord knew. To answer your question, yes some did call me Walshy, and I’m sure other things too, lol, especially when the plumbing didn’t quite work as intended due to my lack of experience. I remember the first time Tony asked [it was at the early Hollywood church] if anyone knew about plumbing, because the faucets were leaking, and I knew about that much, which got me to be labeled a plumber. The rest is a history of comical errors, such as the ceiling leaking in the middle of the service due to not having installed what is called a “pan” between the drain pipe and poured concrete in stand up showers installed after we had ripped out the only working bathtubs we had. And then of course, there was the famous shower room at Saugus 1 that had maybe 12 to 13 shower heads, and it had beautiful ceramic tile approx: 6 feet high and on the entire floor [this time with the “pan”], but when you turned it on, you got pressure from only two or three shower heads, because of my lack of knowledge in sizing the plumbing pipes inside the wall, to accommodate so many as 12 to 13 shower heads. Well, praise the Lord, Tony and Sue, sent me off to plumbing college to get a plumbing license, which was only a school that gave you enough information to pass the state test. So the state of California, made this idiot a master plumber and gave me a license to go out and flood the world, which did happen, in the Long run at practically every foundation. You name it, Number 1, number 2, number 3, number 4 and number 5. They should have never turned me loose. If anyone ever doubted that the Lord has a sense of humor, or that he did not flood the world in Noah’s day, they had no doubts when I got through. Well, so much for that episode. Having no more to say at this time, God bless and keep you and yours in the palm of his mighty hand.

Jokerweazel here. Great to read about the beloved brothers from the old glory days of the foundation. I see everyone "kept the faith" so to speak and doing well. Yes, I am in contact with James Richardson and saw him about a week ago. He is in the ministry and would like to hear from all the brothers. Beleive it or not Arthur Monroe dosen't live that far from me. Anybody remember Arthur? Well, who could forget.

Hello John M, good to hear from you. What is going on? What’s the Lord been doing with you? As you may recall, it was difficult for me to believe these things on the news about Tony, as I never saw any of the things he’s now charged with while I was there, and myself and many of the construction crew were up to Tony and Sue’s practically every night getting money for constructions projects. In that sense we were closer to them than the rest of the congregation. No doubt, this is why the people there now find it difficult to believe the things about him as I did. But when he admitted recently multiple marriages, it became obvious to me, something is definitely wrong with his beliefs, and I wonder if the ones there now have heard about that at least, and if so, how can they stay there now knowing that much? But, we’ll all soon see and read about what the outcome will be, it seems the chickens are coming home to roost out there. My main concern though is to hear what the Lord has been doing with the brothers I knew back then, you know, the faithful ones that the Lord is doing a grass roots thing with seeing that many mainstream churches are going off the deep end. My days since the foundation are clearly spelled out on our website, but the others I need to talk to or email in order to get acquainted with what the Lord is doing with them. So far I’ve talked on the phone with John S, Ronnie P, and John K [aka jokerweasel], and John K is giving me contact info on some others he’s in touch with, or knows of, and brother Chas I’ve chatted with here on this site; so let me hear from you.
