Personal abuse complaints, alleged slander, libel, or copyright infringement, remove posting requests

Before you send us an alleged slander or libel complaint or you demand we remove some post or threaten us with any kind of legal action, please read the following carefully. It is agreed to by everyone who posts in the discussion forum in the registered user agreement and it also is posted as the general website disclaimer for all other areas of the Factnet website blogs etc.

Follow our policy on submitting complaints exactly! Calling us, threatening us in any way or not following the complaint policy as described at http://www.factnet.org/Contact.html (http://www.factnet.org/Contact.html) will guarantee that your complaint will be returned to you unhandled or will go into a pile and stay there until you do follow our proven 15 year old complaint handling policy.

An overview:

Because of the following online library disclaimer there can be no slander or libel on Factnet. If you feel that someone is saying something you do not like or agree with or, you think is not right then the absolute very best and most certain and swift way to deal with the issue is to post all of your information, opinions and perspectives in the appropriate discussion forum and thread and openly state what you believe to counter what you do not like. Enter into the dialog process and defend yourself and your ideas. This is the most effective and fastest way to resolve thing you do not like being said.

No one will censor your right to speak for all to see providing you follow the registered user agreement discussion forum rules. People say all kinds of negative things about Factnet and its staff in the discussion forums and we allow it because of what is said just below in the following sections:

“F.A.C.T.Net (Fight Against Coercive Tactics Network) is a nonaligned electronic lending library and preservational archive. The purpose of Factnet's news and historic archive service is to promote independent investigation and public debate and dialog on cult and mind control issues critical to our social and individual well-being. Statements made in any documents in any of our libraries or message boards on or off the Internet do not necessarily represent the views or opinions of the F.A.C.T.Net organization. F.A.C.T.Net provides only the electronic medium for transferring information, with the explicit understanding that each user will independently evaluate it and carefully make up his or her own mind as to its factual accuracy and usefulness.
For the following reasons, F.A.C.T.Net treats all of the information in these electronic research libraries, e-mail boxes, electronic chats, message boards, editorials and electronic conferences as allegations, opinions, or theoretical research discussions and makes absolutely no claims for the factual accuracy of any information, statement, or document contained in any of its electronic libraries or services.
Independent individuals, organizations, or authors contributing documents to F.A.C.T.Net's research libraries may be exercising their constitutional rights of petition, free speech, participation in government, or freedom of religion in researching, evaluating and freely discussing any matter. These discussions or statements may be the constitutionally protected opinions, allegations, satire, fiction, or religious beliefs or religious opinions of these independent individuals, organizations, or authors and, as such, may or may not be factual.
Most of the documents in our research libraries have been electronically scanned and mechanically translated. Even using the newest technologies, errors occur naturally during this process.
Some of the information contained in these libraries may be fictional works, "works in progress," or archival materials included in the library or archive only to preserve their possible historical or bibliographical value or for which even the author or contributor makes no claims as to the document's factual accuracy.
Because of the preceding, neither F.A.C.T.Net Inc., any affiliated entities, nor any of its information providers offer any warranties, expressed or implied, concerning the performance of the F.A.C.T.Net information network or the veracity of information available through on or provided by F.A.C.T.Net. All information is provided to F.A.C.T.Net library users on an "as is" basis subject to the qualifications of this disclaimer and all use of such information for any purpose is at the library user's sole risk!”
"....The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error...We have now recognized the necessity to the mental well-being of mankind (on which all their other well-being depends) of freedom of opinion, and freedom of the expression of opinion, on four distinct grounds; which we will now briefly recapitulate.

First, if any opinion is compelled to silence, that opinion may, for aught we can certainly know, be true. To deny this is to assume our own infallibility.

Secondly, though the silenced opinion be an error, it may, and very commonly does, contain a portion of truth; and since the general or prevailing opinion on any subject is rarely or never the whole truth, it is only by the collision of adverse opinions that the remainder of the truth has any chance of being supplied.

Thirdly, even if the received opinion be not only true, but the whole truth; unless it is suffered to be, and actually is, vigorously and earnestly contested, it will, by most of those who receive it, be held in the manner of a prejudice, with little comprehension or feeling of its rational grounds.

And not only this, but fourthly, the meaning of the doctrine itself will be in danger of being lost, or enfeebled, and deprived of its vital effect on the character and conduct: the dogma becoming a mere formal profession, inefficacious for good, but encumbering the ground, and preventing the growth of any real and heartfelt conviction, from reason or personal experience." John Stuart Mill:
"On Liberty"(excerpt from Chapter 2).

More about Personal abuse complaints on the board ($30.00 US) will begin within 10-14 days of our receipt of your funds from PayPal. This requires checking out the actual text that people have posted. It sometimes requires sending a return email to the person who lodges the complaint asking for more details or asking them to quote the exact offending text, and URL where the text occurs if they have not done that in the original email. Next, using the criteria of our discussion board rules, determine if there is a real board rules offence and if necessary, delete the offending posts or, if necessary, warn the offending poster or, if necessary, block the offending poster from ever using the board again. This is a sometimes a difficult and time consuming process when done fairly. If you do not want to pay the service charge, you will need to wait until a volunteer can get to it. If we have lots of volunteers and a small work load this should not take too long. If we don’t, it could take weeks or even longer. There is no time guarantee as to when a volunteer might get to this work. (To pay this service charge click here to pay with PayPal (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick&business=manage@factnet.org&currency_code=USD&tax=0) and in the Payment For enter ‘Abuse Complaint’. Your payment will be processed within 3 days and someone will contact you via email to help resolve the issue.)
Most importantly paying this service charge does not mean that you are buying the removal of any post. It only means we will give your situation expedited attention. Only our staff determine what will be removed and violates our discussion board policies!
For additional help see Discussion Board Service Charges (http://www.factnet.org/FAQ_Discussion_Board.htm#Charges).
Before you threaten us with any kind of legal action take our discussion board registered user agreement below, the Factnet website disclaimer at http://www.factnet.org/disclaim.htm (http://www.factnet.org/disclaim.htm) and the above text to a lawyer and get their advice about frivolous and malicious lawsuits and the counter fines and costs for bringing such suits.
