I'm sorry to see that www.abusivechurches.org (http://www.abusivechurches.org) is now going to be just an archive. Their contribution has been invaluable to those leaving CFCMI as well as to those who still have family and friends caught inside. It still remains an important resource. Few cults are quite so well documented. What is unique is that this board was written almost exclusively by past and in some cases, present CFC members, not sociologists nor psychologists.

What is most amazing is the sheer volume of posts on one subject. Other anti-cult sites will not ever attain this many posts on CFCMI. The reason for this phenomenon is that the opening of their board almost coincides with the closing of the Norfolk Church on Little John, and the infamous Mother's Day Speech in which Paine and Thomas make some admission of Davis' wrongdoings.

I truly regret their decision in closing their boards. I have been watching this board off and on over the past several years. I have learned much that many CFC insiders probably would find dismaying. I'm sure that there is no oldhead who has not been there at least once. Likewise, there is no pastor who has not read it.

My hope for the future is that they 1) reopen the board with a willing board manager 2) if they are unwilling to to that, that they enable search function so that posts may be searched. It is difficult and time comsuming to find things at times.

Hats of to you all at Abusive Churches website! Thanks for all the support!

I agree with you, especially since I wrote many of the posts that are on AbusiveChurches.org. I tried to ask the admin about the search function, and it is still not working.

Hey John!

Glad to see you're still around. Regarding Abusive Churches site. I realize the board administrators have moved on for various reasons. I also realize that their board needs to be in place and operational now more than ever because...

Who can help but noticing these CFCMI "Fellowship while you work" photos. (whistle or some such nonsence should go here). I feel that they are thumbing their noses. The irony is that the oldheads seem to be there for photo ops. The young guys do all the work for free pizza? My! They are young! (LOL) Just my opinion.

Their numbers are about 75-100 combining all the CFC congregations together. We haven't been shown any new Sunday services, now have we. So the joke is really on them, not on us.

Maybe the ABC board could be entrusted to a responsible party. Internet goes stale even faster than TV or radio. I feel a new walkout is imminent. We may have missed it. Other boards can't do what they did. It's as if God used them in a big way. Sometimes I think if ABC closes then CFC will win, but then I have to remind myself God is still in charge. In the end He triuimphs!

You are askew in your concerns. I believe ABC has been closed for a while. Just because it's closed doesn't means CFC "wins." ABC closed, myspace and factnet opened, and anyone can still access the information jewel that ABC provides. CFCMI WILL eventually implode upon itself. It will "suffer" the effects of it's own making. This is the way of the universe, or God, and there is no way around it. In the East it is called Karma. Karma is not always instantaneous, or apparent, but an effect will always follow it's appropriate cause. Here, we say "reap as you sow." Same concept.

CFC's "leaders" feebly attempt to "talk" their way out of their own behaviors. They also use the same blah-de-blah methodology to profess their visions and string people along. Once you spot it, it becomes obviously comical. That kind of behavior just strenthens the theory that they all suffer from pathological issues. It's unethical at best, corrupt at worst. You decide. But in the end, it all comes out in the wash.

Love, tj

True, they have been closed to new members for a couple of years. The old members' posts have sharply dropped off in recent weeks. Still the volume and diversity of threads truly amazes me. They had set up quite an online community. I wonder where anyone coming out now would turn. Here maybe? Cult awareness sites can be hard, but not impossible to find.

Remember God is in control. His name is not: L.R. Pete, Ed or Bruce Get it guys! For all I know God does not have a name because He always was.

I just jumped over to ABC and people are still reading in. I guess it still makes an impact. I'm glad it gets read still. I've never seen a cult so well documented. I wonder how many in CFC read it. I'm guessing a few could be. Others could be those who just want to know know more about it.

ABC is Great!!!!

It was awesome how the survivors of that horrible place were able to post about their experiences so candidly. That forum provided "witnesses" to their experience, and fostered true healing. It brought people together. It exposed CFC's cover-ups. It helped friends and family members to understand how their loved ones' suffered at the hands of CFCMI. Where else can you find the actual transcripts documenting the perverted pedophilia and manipulations of LR Davis? (The very things Paine and Co. so desperately try to deny and downplay) And it remains a documentary into the rancid corruption of CFCMI, which is ongoing, unfortunately.

Now, even years later, ABC educates the military and keeps them away from that farce of a "church."

I think that it was the work of the Holy Spirit that this ABC website coincided with the demise of that cult and documented it so well with so many speaking out against it. This was the truly amazing part. I also think that nothing on the internet can hold a candle to the posts there in terms of volume and content. I suppose one could call it a phenomenon.

It would be truly formidible if ABC reopened their boards with a trusted webmaster to supervise. The difference between there and here is the bulk of posts, but, also, the shared experiences that are corroborated over and over. This website shows that the CFC walkouts aren't making things up. There is enough variation in their stories to see it as a mode of operation on the part of CFC Staff, rather than a rouse by the walkouts of CFC.

CFC leadership was so concerned about the Abusive Chuches site because it directly attacked them, exposing them for what they really are--crooks--and because of its proximity them in Norfolk. If ABC were still open to posting it would be an even bigger thorn in their side. Whether they accept new poster or not, we must never grow weary of opposing CFC on this or other boards.

Note: This reads a lot like my opening post on this thread. I still have not changed my position. Thanks to Dee, Alan, and Mary for their contribution to CFC walkouts and the family and friends of those still trapped inside CFCMI. Please keep them in your prayers.

Thankfully, ABC is back up and running.

Read up, Norfolk! Don't skip the transcripts.

I think it would be absolutely fabulous if abusivechurches opened to posters again. Norfolk never needed them more.

Thanks for coming back online ABC. We love you!

I jumped over to http://www.abusivchurches.org (http://www.abusivchurches.org/). It is good to see they still have an audience. There were 2 other views online. That is excellent for a board that hasn't taken new posts in a year and half. :)

I'm glad there's an audience here because this site is active. Nothing like Citi-Data in May-June, but in the six months I've been posting here at Factnet, there have been thousands of views scattered over many different threads.

There is a lot of good stuff at ABC to be sure, but there's a lot of excellent stuff here as well.

My opinion.

I would love to see more new, current and ex-CFCMI members post here. Anyone who's had exposure to this group, including friends, co-workers, family or acquaintances would be welcomed. (This means you, sailors!)

So now is your chance---jump on in, join the fun!

Since Norfolk's forum was shut down because of CFCMI's opposition to free speech (might as well just wipe your a$$ with the Constitution, Pete) I highly doubt any member is gonna accept the invitation. But hey, maybe next year when they realize they've been screwed....!

Door's always open!
