I am trying to alert as many people on as many boards as possible about the Gospel Assembly 'church' in Dade City, Florida. It is a SEVERE cult-
According to the 'Rick Ross Consultant and Intervention' there are ten warning signs of a potrntially unsafe group/ leader:
1. "Absolute authoritarianism without meaningful accountability".
I could spend hours, days, weeks, etc. etc. on this one sign alone.
The pastor of this church feels it her 'God-given' right to know, question, reprove, rebuke, etc. every and anything any member of the church does.
You cannot visit, eat out with, or any other socializing with ANYONE unless she approves. Church members aren't even allowed to visit each other's houses without her permission.
You also have to have her approval on anything you wear. if she disapproves, you had best not year it again.
These are just minor, minor control issuses. If I where to enumerate them all, this website couldn't hold it.
My main point in this: If you know of anyone considering the Gospel Assembly church in Dade City, Florida- warn them- IT IS A CULT!
(They are also called Happy Hill Assembly)

if a pastor of mine were to tell me you can not go to , acertian persons house, well i would go any way the same with eating wth them i would go any way, if they were adviseing me and i felt the advice was good not to go or to eat then i certainly would not. if one told me not to wear certian things to their church then i would not do so but no pastor is to dictate what some one does or eats with.

She was a very nice kid, reading a book by Bro. Hagin (which I was surprised by, because most AOG people are not into WOF doctrine), very happy with her church and excited about sharing her faith, praying, studying the Word... didn't look like she was suffering too much, but we'll talk to her a bit next time we bump into her (we see her every so often at Target or SB's) and report back what we find.

How long have you been gone from there and why did you leave?

THis is not an Assembly of God church (i assume that is what you mean by AOG) This is a church that was once associated with the Gospel Assembly Church of Tom Jolly who was arrested on charges of molestation.
The people from this church would not be reading a book by anyone else but the current pastor (who has not publishe anything-so I guess everyone at the church is out of luck!!!) Only what she says over the pulpit is considered the 'Word of God'- so, that pretty much limits them to the Bible and her interpertation of it.
Those who disagree with her in any way are severly punished and rebuked.
If you would like to know mor about this sect and all other Gospel Assemblies-
Go to www.gospelassemblyfree.com (http://www.gospelassemblyfree.com)- (Dade City GAC is talked about in the message forum)
I promise, it will put curl to your hair
(that, or make you throw-up!!!)

I left because it fit most of the traits of a destructive cult. I think the one factor it didn't meet was living as a compound.
Come to think of it though, they're getting pretty close to that.
I was restricted in every area of life except eating and sleeping.
If I didn't attend all five services every week, I had to answer to the pastor where I was and what I was doing.
I was publicly rebuked over and over (for small or imagined infractions)
A large part of my time was spent helping clean her buildings (no one that I knew of got a salary for this- it went directly to her)
I could go on and on, but it grows monotonus- like I said: to find out about the Dade City/ Happy Hill Gospel Assembly, go to www.gospelassemblyfree.com (http://www.gospelassemblyfree.com)

Could I ask a question, Godisgoodtoall?

"As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated." Romans 9:13 (KJV).

Is hating someone being good to them? or Does your religion reject the Word of God?

I don't understand what you are asking me with this quote-

The cult I was in seemed fundamental in value (as most GAC churches do) yet it is really the pastor who interperts the Scriptures.
If she followed to the word of the Scriptures, she would not be a pastor at all- doesn't the Bible say something to the effect of not letting a woman have authority over a man?

Come, my friend, you are using the title "God is good to all." Based on scripture, was God good to Esau by hating him?

I'm sorry- whoever you are- you obviously DID NOT read all my previous posts-
I came out of a brain-washing cult I had been in over twenty-five years.
The councilor said I was doing good to be walking around- he thought after the amount of abuse I suffered I would be drooling from in the mouth in a semi-councious state of mind.
I had post traumatic stress syndrome every time I walked into a (any) church building- I threw up and shook violently.
I don't know WHAT I believe in at this point- I'm doing great to walk into a church every Sunday.
I was hard wired with GAC garbage five nights a week- does it sound like I have a normal thought about anything in the Bible?
I choose Godisgoodtoall because the pastor at GAC thought SHE got to choose who God is good to -well, she don't.
I'm sorry, but BACK OFF!!!!!
This particular thread isn't for theolgy down and dirty's- it's to expose cult abuse- so I'm sorry- but you are coming on too close for comfort.

I just wanted to post again and say:
"I am still Gospel Assembly Free!!!"
I wake up each and every day so happy to be free of all that garbage!!!
The poor people still trapped in the Happy Hill Christian Assembly (Gospel Assembly) don't know they are blindly following a mad woman.
I pray God opens their eyes.
