Special "Inside Scientology" investigative report to air on A&E
[December 14, 1998]

The cable television channel Arts & Entertainment (A&E) Network will air
an investigative report on Scientology this week called "Inside
Scientology." A&E's web site advertises the two-hour special as:

A probe into the conflict surrounding the controversial Church of
Scientology. Is the Church guilty of threatening and driving its enemies
into bankruptcy, or are the media and government harassing a legitimate
religious organization? Also looks into the life of founder L. Ron
Hubbard--a science fiction writer.(cc) [NR]

It is reported that the special will include interviews with former
members including Vaughn Young, current members including John Travolta,
Scientology leader David Miscavige, and even excerpts of past interviews
with the late founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard.

A&E's "Inside Scientology" will air tonight, Monday, December 14th, 9-11
pm EST (6-8 pm PST). [It will be shown again Tuesday, December 15th 1-3
am EST (Monday 10 pm-midnight PST) and Saturday, December 19 3-5 pm
EST (noon-2 pm PST)].

By the way, A&E's web site has a discussion question, "Do you believe
Scientology is a legitimate religion?" which appears to be under spam
attack by one person repeatedly answering Yes. To view responses or
participate, see .
