Holloman Airmen Deploy

POSTED: 3:59 pm MST January 8, 2007

January 8, 2007 -- About 300 Airmen from Holloman Air Force Base along with a squadron of Nighthawks in New Mexico are now headed to the Western Pacific, specifically, South Korea.

The 49th Fighter Wing departed Monday morning for a regularly scheduled deployment of about four months or as long as needed to meet continuing force posture adjustment. According to the U.S. Air Force, the deployments meant to demonstrate the continued U.S. commitment to fulfilling security responsibilities throughout the Western Pacific.

The 49th Fighter Wing operates the only two operational F-117 squadrons in the U.S. Air Force. The F-117A Nighthawk is the world's first operational aircraft designed to exploit low-observable stealth technology. The precision-strike aircraft penetrates high-threat airspace and uses laser-guided weapons against critical targets.

Holloman Deploy?
They must know something we don't know.
Surrounding Iran already?
