Pastor Wayne Dillabaugh was a Baptist Preacher since the early 70's from Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. If you know anything about this man I would like to hear from you. Please, leave a message ! |

Is "Calvary" used mainly referring to Baptist congregations? I don't know about W.D but saw your post, a friend escaped a cultish babtist group a long time ago and I don't have contact with her any more. Could you tell me something about fundamentalist Baptists? They aren't all fundamentalist are they? Like what separates a normal Baptist from an extreme cult baptist congregation? Thanks and sorry I couldn't help you personally. |

Hi, and thanks for your response. Calvary is used because the name of the Church was Calvary Baptist, however not every Calvary Baptist Church is a cult. The Church I attended for 13 yrs. was an Independant Fundamental Baptist Church. The key word there is Independant. The Preacher (aka cult leader ) made it Independant so that, he was on the top. He had no one to answer to, he was the boss, he owned the Church. Fundamentalists are ok, I suppose....the thing that seperates a regular Baptist Church from a cult-like Baptist Church is strictly the person in charge (the Preacher). My Preacher was very controlling. He demanded over 10% tithes and offerings, he made everyone write down the exact amount you were going to give for that yr. and if you failed to give that much, even for one month, he demanded you go get a loan to make up for it. He knew how much you were giving, and you had better give him that much. Neddless to say, he made a million a yr. He was in jail for child abuse yrs ago....but that didnt stop him.He made young teenage boys massage his feet in and out of public (his office), he belittle teens and adults telling us we were zeros and would never amount to anything. WE were taught, at a young age, to be prepared to die for this man, he always feared assasination. We know now it's because he ruined so many lives in his past. He was an alcoholic, drug abbuser, and pornographer. He said that he read porn so the Holy Ghost will pierce his heart. He was the Preacher at our Church for 20 yrs before we found all of this out. He was a liar and deceived many. Anyways , to make a long story short, several members left this cult when finding out. They had a choice to vote a new Pastor in, but they only had ONE choice. They can do this because they are Independant and the Preacher owns the Church and property. THe only choice they had was his son-in-law ,which is just like him. So, the cult continues. In fact just last week, his son in law (the new Preacher) broke a glass mug on the Church's pulpit and began yelling at the congregation saying..."My people left me" and began naming Churches in the area in which the old members started going to, saying that they took HIS people. These people are dangerous...they abuse children by teaching to beat your kids until they can't stand up or sit down cause they are so black and blue. I've seen kids as young as 1 beat with a board and belt by the Preachers themselves. Anyways, I hope I answered your question, just becareful if you join a Church , if they seem money hungry, then theres a problem. Our Preacher also made fake bonds and sold them all over, and ended up paying a $500 fine. He demanded money all the time, and we were also taught from a very young age that if we left his Church, we would die of cancer, I still fear that to this day. Well, as you can tell I have alot to say about the place. I hope you write back if you have anymore questions. Thanks again for being interested. By the way, there are good Churches out there, I was just wasn't in one of them ! |
