I'm looking for information regarding Choice Center, a weekend "encounter group" type thing. The first meeting is free. the second weekend is 500.00 and after that you are told that you won't be complete until after the second, 1,000.00 weekend. Acording to my friend, the second weekend you are not allowed to eat a tic tac without permission, you are kept up until late at night and involved in up to 16 hour sessions, and at certain points you are put in front of the group and publicy ridiculed and verbally abused. My friend walked out after that one, but is thinking of going back. Once the third weekend is completed, you go back to join the "circle" where you become a 60 hour a week volunteer for the center. Sounds very very wrong to me, but my friends aren't listening to me, and keep saying I should try it. I'm losing friends fast, and need some back-up. Anything? |

If KJ Kopf could provide further details it would be very helpful. Where are they operating? Do they have contact details? Do have any names of the persons running Choice Center? etc... Anything at all would help. |

ChoiceCenter Worldwide is none other than Lifespring. I have recently lost a friend to them. His trainer was none other than John Hanley, Jr. If you look on Lifespring's website, under Who We Are, you will find a picture of Mr. Hanley. My friend is taking these workshops in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has been virtually brainwashed. He has no job, but has a savings account that is being steadily diminished by this organization. He is exhausted mentally and physically, but still signs up for more workshops. These people are unscrupulous, and should be avoided at all costs. They use mind control techniques, ie. lack of sleep, lack of food, isolation from family and friends. They have advised him to not return for his belongings, as I am a "negative" influence. BEWARE |

Here is their webpage. If you click on Forms, you can see the different workshops and prices ($$$$). If you click on Human Development, you will see the name of the "principal" and the city director. http://www.choicenter.com/ |

Re: "choicecenter worldwide" and above comments The following info may be useful: Owner: Robyn Williams 8072 W Sahara Suite A LV, NV 89117 (702) 838-3988 phone (702) 256-8468 fax The Better Business Bureau lists choicecenter being classified as "psychologists/psychiatrists" involved in "internet psychiatry". As of today, they have no business license listed |

Hey guys. All I'm hearing is how awful and evil this place and places of the like are, but I'm curious. The friends and family that did these trainings; are they happy? Do they have joy in their lives? I did these trainings, and yes, I spent a lot of time volunteering. Because it felt amazing to give back to people and make a difference in the world. And I got to learn to create balance in taking care of myself and giving back. I have seen people do these trainings, and let go of so many self-limiting personal beliefs. And go on to have the relationships they wanted in life. I've seen families heal, realizing that nothing is more important than loving one another. So I have a request. Before a training like this is deemed awful or evil, check out all the results. Yes, some people need to learn balance still, but take a look at the biofeedback. How many people who've done the trainings are healthier physically, psychologically, financially, and in many other arenas? For me, any problems I have with anything can be resolved when I look at what fears I may have over that particular thing, and what lies at the root of that fear. I found when I addressed that underlying fear, the original thing wasn't at all what I thought it was. From these very trainings I have developed a life vision for myself. My vision for this world is that each and every one of us has the same compassion and love for ourselves that a mother has for her sleeping child, and that we extend that outward. I see that love and fear are the two things that every reaction, emotion, motivation, situation evolves from, and I strive to come from love in my thoughts, words, and deeds. I understand that no one and no thing can control me; I can only choose to be controlled. I am the one that decides the quality and substance of my life. I wish you joy, peace, and freedom in your life, and I thank you for entertaining my perspective. |

Choice Center has been one of the most moving and life changing experiences in my life. Using the tools I learned I created financial freedom, I strengthened my relationship with my little 5 year old. I am now a trainer for this and other similar groups. I can not disclose the content of the trainings but I can say that there is none of the "deprevation" style stuff I have read in this thread. People are always allowed to drink, eat and phone their families on any of the many breaks during the classes. As far as brainwashing goes, my experience is... that every amazing experience a person in a training goes through is 100% voluntary> Period! People come to these trainings to creat extra-ordinary results. To have extra-ordinary lives. This takes committment and is also a lot of fun. Volunteering to give back to the homeless and the community has made my life richer and everyone I know. |

VERY INTERESTING STUFF.....IT IS MY EXPERIENCE THAT ANY THING HIDDEN, SECRETIVE AND DARK...IT'S EXACTLY THAT..MIND CONTROL BY WAY OF "BRAINWASHING" SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED...STAY AWAY FROM THESE GROUPS AND TELL EVERYONE...DO NOT ATTEND ANY OF THEIR COURSES BECAUSE AT THE END....ALL THEY TEACH YOU IS EVERYTHING THEY DON'T PREACH..THEY LIE TO TAKE YOUR MONEY. THIS IS A SHELTER FOR HOMOSEXUALS AND PEOPLE WITH SOCIAL ACCEPTANCE ISSUES. PLEASE TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS ATTENDED THEIR COURSES AND AT THE END I WALKED AWAY EMPTY AND DISSAPOINTED...THERE ARE MANY IN THE CLASSES THAT ARE ONLY THERE BECAUSE FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE FORCED TO ENROLL OTHERS. THIS IS A WAY TO FORCE PEOPLE TO PARTICIPATE AND KEEP THEIR CLASSROOMS FULL. THERE IS A WAY TO KEEP THESE GROUPS FROM GROWING AND SPREADING THE LIES THAT ARE ALL SO SWEET AT THE VERY BEGINING AND THAT IS TO REMOVE THEIR MASK AND SHOW WHO THEY REALLY ARE, WHAT IT IS REALLY ABOUT....YOU MAKE THAT CONCLUSION, LEARN MORE ABOUT IT...AND TELL OTHERS SO THAT THEY ARE NOT CAUGHT BY SURPRISE.PEOPLE WHO SEEK THESE CLASSES ARE ONLY LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO FULLFILL THEIR LIVES WHEN ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS SEEK JESUS CHRIST IN THEIR LIFE TO FIND HAPPYNNESS. |

If anyone has the power to investigate these courses provided by "CHOICECENTER WORLDWIDE" and their leaders, please take action because it is destroying lives, families and they are playing with people's feelings,FINANCES and emotions. Some people have gone as far as to leaving their spouses and they end up with whomever the members of the group decides is best for them. You may tell yourself, "NOONE CAN MAKE YOU DO ANYTHING YOU DON'T WANT TO DO" but the preasure is such, it is almost impossible not to. Once you finish one of the courses they harrass you to take the next and if you refuse to, they push you and push you until you either give in or walk away so upset you don't even want to talk about it to even complaint to anyone. The trainers are robots controlled by the people in charge, and the chain goes on and on. Please be careful and beware, these groups are not good, at first the concept looks and sounds really impresive but all it is, is a game of control and manipulation. If your life needs improvement find professional help, or spiritual guidance, which in many cases is the answer(get closer to God, not a bunch of ridiculous, unhappy man and women without family life(kids) or a functional home. As a matter of fact the firs two courses are eye opening and some what interesting, but the upper classes(leadership), (phd) among others, are nothing but a bunch of (how far can they take you)...they use bad lenguage and other forms of intimidation to break you down and even go as far as to getting so involved in your personal life that all your loved ones are listed by names and addresses. Stay away from CHOICECENTER WORLDWIDE and their president ROBYN WILLIAMS. You will thank yourself for the decision. Best wishes! |

I work with a girl (32 yrs old) who joined choice center 2 weeks ago. She has already paid them $2900, and is telling all of us how wonderful it is, she's never felt so great, blah, blah, blah. Oh I have seen a Real Change. I feel like I am talking to a Stepford wife, or a robot for that matter. She is brainwashed. The owner of the salon, all of us stylists, told her, that sounds like a cult to me. How are you going to pay someone, to tear you down into pieces, tell you who your are, when nobody knows you better than you? The strength comes from within. I feel so bad for her and her husband. It is now affecting her work. Chioce center told her she needs to be there on Saturdays, and to renegotiate her work schedule or to quit. WTF? This is such a shock to me. I am 28, know about cults and brainwashing, but now discovering about one who targets mid to upper class people. When we tell her its a cult, she says that is our ego talking and that we don't want to be helped. Oh boy. I feel so bad for her. New person for the worse, in just 2 weeks. |

Hey Icecube. Accepting Jesus Christ into your life doesn't mean fullfillment and happiness either. You do realize that you sound just like the choice center people that you are bashing. (ie. all you have to do is this, and everything will be better in your life.) Choice Center sounds alot like organized religion to me, which is saying that they all sound like cults. There is an element of brainwashing in every movement that looks to control a mass amount of people. And you pay money at church too. The Jesus movement has just been around longer, so more people have accepted it. Sorry about the truth. |

Hey greek1977, So if you feel so bad for your friend why didnt you make a difference for her by supporting her in a way that had her feeling so great about her life that she didnt feel the desire to make things better? No one brainwashes anyone! Making a real change in your life takes time and work. During any adjustment period there is a normal drifty-ness that goes away and leaves the results... a new committment to love, life and your friends vision of how she wants her life to be. Did you go to college? Did you ever study hard and take a final which left your head spinning with all of the new information? You never said college is a cult. By the way do you know the definition of the word cult? It means "culture". I would love to speak with you about choicecenter if you are open to creating an exceptional life... |

I cant believe that some people are so closed off to any possibility of generating positive outcomes for their life. I have been through Choicecenter and have had nothing but positive outcomes. I started my own business, my family is closer that i could have ever wished. People who call choicecenter a "cult" are scared of looking at themselves. So I invite you "cult" people to look at your lives and see if you live the best possible life or if you live in mediocraty. I dont speak into right or wrong, good or bad but if you dont know what is possible by taking a risk then dont speak into things you have no information about. Go to the source of where your information comes from. Thats why the world is in pain because people dont take a stand. What matters to you? People talking about things they have no idea about or people taking a risk and actually finding out what is possible. John Hanly has nothing to do with choicecenter. Once again someone with the wrong facts. So easy to hide out and blame....its bullshit. |

The choicecenter in my opinion is a group of unhappy addicts that have nothing better to do with their life. They are grabbing for something that is unreachable. It is an unlicensed therapy group which is messing around with people minds that they have no idea what they are doing and shouldn't be doing it! Especially taking money from the people they are messing up mentally! DRIFTLESS - so what if John Hanly has nothing to do with the program. He might have at a time in his life and has affected this person telling his story! Who are you to judge his opinion? I actually know about the program and warn anyone "DO NOT DRINK THE KOOLAID!" metaphorically speaking. Let me ask anyone out there, Someone has ended their life from this program, who is going to pay for that? Do you want to take a risk with your life? Dee Dee Deeeee! Find Happiness elsewhere! Choice center is filled with real estate agents and homosexuals. Find trust in your own God and where you don't have to buy friends. |

I went through choice center several years ago. I can't believe all the lies I've read in these postings. There were no brainwashing techniques and no one had to pay more than they could afford. I was broke at the time and it didn't cost me a thing. There also was no food or sleep depriving (they did ask us to not use mind/mood altering or illeagal drugs. Which maybe what some are opposed to). It did, however, help me take charge of my life and helped stengthen my relationship with my family and Jesus Christ! What it comes down to is this- the choice center helps people take responsibility for the choices that they make. We live in a society that thrives on passing blame and playing a victim to get ahead. It sure is sad that when a group advocates having moral standards and taking responsibility for one's actions, society's reaction would be so negative and filled with fear. |

I think different people need different things. It concerns me that my friend who is in Choice Center is being a free sales-person and is pressuring me to join. But, I also support her in her journey. Of course I'm concerned about how hard she works and how much she's changed in a short while. I like her how she is, and hope she never thought she had to change. I don't think we can look at Choice Center as "good" or "bad". I think it's a complicated situation and we should look at it on individual basis from many different points of view. |

Its very interesting to read everyone's opinions, so why not share mine. I'm noticing a distinct pattern, here. Those that went through and completed the training have wonderful things to say about Choicecenter. Those that have not gone through, are dissecting it and judging it, as though they have gone through the training and experienced it, firsthand. And even those few that DID go to the training and had horrible things to say, take notice, they admittedly walked out without completing the course. Just something to think about...its very easy to judge this training from the outside, with the bits of information you may have been offered by those that have gone through. If you are happy and satisfied with your life and your relationships, then think about supporting those that aren't, because the last thing they need is resistance, when they are already dealing with it, from within. And no one is hiding anything by not sharing what goes on...it would take away from your experience to do so. If taking on your life, improving your relationships, and getting "real" is a CULT, then so be it..its the best cult i've ever experienced. Call it what you want. |

I am a CEO-business owner, father and husband. I practice my religion regularly and am a college graduate. I have attended Choicecenter and graduated from every training course offered. I am being completely honest when I say that there is nothing to lose and everything to gain by COMPLETING any of the Choicecenter trainings. I do not work for CC nor am I RaRa supporter, I am just a guy saying that I learned so much about myself, my business, my friends and family in these trainings. NONE... NONE... of the wacky things posted in these other postings happened to me or any other person at CC. I honestly feel very sad for some of the people who have so much anger, paranoia and ill will towards others that they would make up stuff like this. (and conveniently remain anonymous) If you would like to ask questions from someone who really went to CC feel free to call me 702-263-1123, I will answer any question you have. |
